When Jingxuan gently pushed open the door, two familiar figures came into her view, adding a touch of warmth to her return. The first was Caiying, a girl with a neutral style. Her short hair was neatly trimmed, complemented by black-framed glasses, exuding a unique coolness. She sat in front of the computer, completely absorbed in playing a video game, her fingers dancing skillfully between the keyboard and mouse. Caiying seemed somewhat aloof with few words, but she was actually a kind-hearted and very reliable roommate. She was passionate about technology and video games, often providing useful advice and assistance in these areas.
The other roommate, Xiao Ri, was the lively element in the room. She lay on the top bunk, one hand holding a phone, while the other waved incessantly, as if engaged in an intense discussion with someone on the other end of the line. Her hair was tousled, and her bangs were secured with a cartoon-shaped hair clip, adding to her cute charm. She was always full of energy and enthusiasm, often the source of laughter in the dormitory.
When the door opened, Caiying raised her head slightly and glanced at Jingxuan through the Cai Ying of her glasses. She then nodded, as if to welcome him in her own way. At the same time, Xiao Ri's reaction was completely different. Her voice was filled with excitement: "Jingxuan!!! My baby, you're finally back!" As she spoke, she quickly climbed down from the bed, clumsily making her way down the ladder and nearly stumbling.
"Be careful, Xiao Ri!" Caiying couldn't help but softly remind her, her eyes revealing a hint of concern.
Xiao Ri seemed to be completely unconcerned about her recent near miss, as she hurried towards Jingxuan and tightly embraced her. Due to the difference in height, Xiao Ri's head reached just to Jingxuan's chest, making her look even smaller and cuter. Jingxuan felt the warmth of Xiao Ri's embrace and couldn't help but smile slightly.
"I missed you too, Xiao Ri," Jingxuan responded gently, patting Xiao Ri's back lightly, feeling her passion and vitality.
Cai Ying Turning away from the computer, although she didn't say anything, her relaxed expression showed that she was also happy about Jingxuan's return. "Alright, Xiao Ri, let Jingxuan come in and put down her luggage," she finally said, with a hint of playfulness in her tone.
Xiao Ri then let go of the embrace, took Jingxuan by the hand, and excitedly pulled her into the room. "Come on, tell me where you went on your vacation and if there was anything interesting!" Xiao Ri's voice was full of curiosity and excitement.
Xiao Ri's excitement infected the entire room. She pulled Jingxuan to sit on her own bed, her face filled with uncontainable joy. The furnishings in the room were simple and practical, with the bunk beds on either side of the door representing the personalities and lifestyles of the roommates. The desk behind the bed was covered with study materials, a computer, and various personal items, each seemingly telling its owner's story.
As Xiao Ri poked Jingxuan in the waist, she quickly said, "You quiet ghost, coming back so late, I was so bored, Cai Ying just plays on the computer and completely ignores me!" Her tone was full of humor and exaggeration, causing Jingxuan to burst into laughter.
Cai Ying Turning away from the table, she lazily leaned back in her chair, looking nonchalant. "Oh, really? You've been on your phone the whole time, acting like I have nothing to do. And who wants to hear about your entire summer vacation? So annoying," she said with humor and ease, a subtle smile on her face.
Xiao Ri Putting on an aggrieved look, she pointed at Cai Ying and coquettishly said to Jingxuan, "Baby, look! Cai Ying is always bullying me." Her voice feigned annoyance, but the twinkle in her eyes betrayed her true feelings.
Jingxuan smiled as she looked at her two very different roommates, feeling warm inside. She gently shook her head and responded, "Alright, alright, I know you're both joking. Cai Ying, did you play any new games during the summer break? And Xiao Ri, where did you go for your summer vacation?" Her question shifted the conversation to everyone's summer experiences.
Xiao Ri immediately perked up and began excitedly recounting her summer adventure, while Cai Ying started talking about a game she had been recently obsessed with. The room was filled with laughter and conversation, and the interaction among the three was full of intimacy and fun. Jingxuan felt very happy to have such roommates to accompany her in her university life. Their conversation continued for a long time, until the sky outside gradually darkened, yet the dorm room still overflowed with a warm and happy atmosphere.
Three people were chatting happily in the dormitory, and the conversation shifted from their summer experiences to various aspects of campus life. At that moment, Jingxuan suddenly remembered another roommate and asked curiously, "By the way, why hasn't Ruoxi come back yet? It's so late."
Xiao Ri and Cai Ying exchanged a glance, both looking somewhat helpless. Xiao Ri joked, "She's probably still at the nightclub! Or she's on the hunt for a man!" Hearing this, all three of them burst into laughter. Ruoxi's bold and unrestrained nature was well known among their dormitory.
Just as their laughter echoed in the dormitory, the door was suddenly pushed open with great force. The three of them sitting on the bed were all startled by this sudden movement. Then, a hearty female voice came through, shaking the entire room: "Ladies! I'm back! Hahaha!"
This voice undoubtedly belonged to Ruoxi. As soon as she entered, she exuded a strong presence. Her figure was tall, her steps were firm, and her hair was casually tied into a ponytail, giving her a confident and unrestrained appearance. A hearty smile hung on her face, as if bringing back the joy of the whole night.
"Ruoxi!" Xiao Ri was the first to react, excitedly jumping out of bed to greet her, and the other two couldn't help but smile and get up to welcome her.
"Hey, I knew you guys were thinking of me!" Ruoxi said loudly, waving her arms and walking quickly towards them, then warmly embracing each person. She carried the scent of the night and a hint of alcohol, but what was hard to ignore was her infectious vitality and passion.
