I lay on the hospital bed, feeling as if the world had forgotten me. For days, all I could see were the stark white walls and ceiling. I had lost track of how long I had been lying there. However, I found that I quite liked this feeling. It meant I no longer had to worry about that guy, Han Weiting, bothering me.
But time really does pass quickly. During these days in bed, my thoughts drifted aimlessly. One moment I was reminiscing about the past, and the next I was vaguely anticipating the future. Suddenly, a sharp pain shot through my abdomen. Groggily, I recalled that I had tried to stab myself with a knife earlier. But in the end, I gave up. Perhaps I was enchanted by Han Weiting's gentleness. Otherwise, how could I forget the bad things he had done to me?
I pulled out the IV needle from my hand and watched as blood splattered out, yet I felt no pain. My mother came in to keep me company, but I felt exhausted and confused. I didn't know how to respond to her concern and requests. I discarded the medication the nurse had given me and reinserted the IV needle into my other wrist, as if it were a fate I couldn't escape.
I closed my eyes, and unfamiliar images flooded my mind. I was pinned down by someone while another person cut my arm with a knife. It hurt so much, yet I couldn't scream. All I could do was watch helplessly as my blood flowed and cry silently.
The scene suddenly shifted; I saw myself lying in a dark little room. I tried desperately to curl up and escape this terrifying environment, but it was all in vain.
I can only close my eyes and pray that I will wake up soon. I miss the taste of sunlight, the feeling of soaring freely under the sun, and the carefree life. But for me, all of this is a luxury. I have thrown away everything, not wanting anyone to come near me. I have grown accustomed to loneliness and do not wish to accept anyone anymore. I have shut myself off, refusing to communicate with the outside world.
At night, the door to my hospital room was pushed open. The familiar sound of footsteps immediately told me who it was. It was Han Weiting. This time, I did not expect him to come. So, I wanted to face him with the best attitude possible. However, when he approached, I couldn't help but grab the iron lunchbox left by my mother and throw it at him. Han Weiting did not dodge; he just stumbled slightly.
Only then did I notice that he looked a bit disheveled. There was a bandage wrapped around his elbow. I felt a little guilty. After all, he was injured because he was worried about me. Han Weiting broke the silence of the night: "Nuan Nuan, did you secretly throw away your medication again?" He stepped closer as I kept throwing things at him. "Han Weiting, don't come any closer! Stay back!"
"Nuan Nuan, don’t be afraid; it’s me." Hmph, I won’t fall for that trick. This guy Han Weiting just wants to confuse me with his gentleness. I remember clearly all the bad things he has done to me in the past. However, I must admit that his arrival means at least I'm not so lonely anymore.
Han Weiting This guy always manages to surprise me. For instance, he brought in his hot-tempered sister.
Han Xiaotian With a face full of displeasure, she refused to apologize to me no matter how much Han Weiting pushed her.
Han Weiting Ignoring his sister's resistance, he forcibly dragged her to my hospital bed and said, "Apologize!"
Han Xiaotian Stamping her feet in anger, she exclaimed, "Brother! I don't want to apologize to her!"
"Do it quickly!"
Under Han Weiting's pressure, Han Xiaotian finally mumbled a quiet "I'm sorry."
Then, Han Weiting knelt down beside my hospital bed as well.
With deep sincerity, he said, "Nuan Nuan, I apologize on behalf of Rui Xin. I hope you can forgive her."
Seeing this, Han Xiaotian became so anxious that tears streamed down her face.
She grabbed Han Weiting's arm and cried, "Brother! Why are you kneeling to her? Get up!"
But no matter how much she pulled, Han Weiting remained still.
"I won't get up until Nuan Nuan forgives me."
Fuming with anger, Han Xiaotian bit her teeth and ran out of the room while crying.
I looked at Han Weiting, who was kneeling on the ground, and suddenly felt an indescribable emotion.
Staring into his deep eyes, it seemed like I could see the sadness in his heart.
I couldn't help but tease him, "Hey, how long are you going to kneel? I didn't ask you to kneel."
Han Weiting lifted his head and revealed a mischievous smile: "What? Are you feeling sorry for me?"
"As long as you're willing to forgive Rui Xin, I'll let you kneel for as long as you want."
Looking at Han Weiting's stubborn gaze, my heart softened. I sighed and said, "Alright, I forgive her. You can get up now."
Upon hearing this, Han Weiting immediately stood up excitedly and hugged me tightly, saying happily, "Really? You forgave her?"
I was startled by the sudden embrace and blushed as I said, "Hey! What are you doing? Let go of me!"
Realizing his mistake, Han Weiting quickly released me and scratched his head awkwardly, saying, "Hehe, I got too excited and couldn't help myself."
