Li Xuanqing smiled playfully, downed his drink, and decided to have some fun with the young lady Hong Xiu tonight. As the night deepened and the guests dispersed, Hong Xiu returned to her room accompanied by her maid. Li Xuanqing used his invisibility technique to silently follow behind.
Hong Xiu's room was elegantly decorated, filled with a refreshing fragrance. The maid prepared a cup of tea for Hong Xiu and then withdrew. Hong Xiu picked up the teacup, gently blew on it, and was about to take a sip when she suddenly frowned, set the cup down, and coldly said, "Come out. You've been following me for so long; aren't you tired?"
Li Xuanqing was taken aback; this Hong Xiu was indeed extraordinary! He revealed himself and smiled, saying, "Miss Hong Xiu, you have quite a keen sense; I admire you!"
Hong Xiu's expression darkened as she spoke icily, "Who are you? Why are you stalking me?" As soon as she finished speaking, the candlelight in the room suddenly extinguished, plunging the entire space into darkness.
Li Xuanqing had been prepared; he quickly formed a hand sign and emitted a beam of golden light from his fingertips, illuminating the room. To his surprise, Hong Xiu had vanished, replaced by a woman in red who was alluring and enchanting. However, upon closer inspection, her features were unfamiliar and completely different from Hong Xiu.
"You... you're not Hong Xiu?" Li Xuanqing feigned surprise while secretly remaining vigilant.
The woman in red sneered, "Hmph! You really figured it out! I want to see who you are that can see through my illusion!"
With that, she formed hand seals, and a fierce wind swept through the room, sending tables and chairs flying. Li Xuanqing did not dare to be careless; he summoned the Bagua Mirror and chanted incantations. The Bagua Mirror shone brightly, creating a golden barrier that kept the raging wind at bay.
The two remained locked in a standoff, neither making the first move. Li Xuanqing quietly observed his surroundings and noticed several talismans stuck in the corners of the room. These talismans emitted faint waves of spiritual energy and were clearly meant to suppress demonic energy.
It seemed that Hong Xiu's true identity was not simple... Li Xuanqing thought to himself. He deliberately pretended to be flustered and asked, "Are you... human or demon?"
Seeing his demeanor, the woman in red felt even more pleased with herself. She coldly replied, "It doesn't hurt to tell you; I am a Thousand-Year Fox Demon! Since you've seen through my identity, prepare to die!"
As soon as she finished speaking, she transformed into a streak of red light and lunged at Li Xuanqing. He had anticipated this; he swiftly dodged to the side and evaded the attack while forming another hand sign. A bolt of lightning shot from his fingertips directly at the woman in red.
With a scream of agony, she was struck by the lightning and revealed her true form—a massive red fox. The Red Fox roared in anger and opened its gaping mouth wide to bite at Li Xuanqing.
Remaining calm, Li Xuanqing summoned the Bagua Mirror again. The mirror emitted a beam of golden light that enveloped the Red Fox within it. The Red Fox struggled within the golden light while letting out piercing cries of despair.
"Ah! What... what have you done to me?!" the Red Fox howled in pain, its voice filled with terror.
Li Xuanqing chuckled coldly and said, "It's nothing much; just revealing your true form."
As he spoke, he discreetly scanned his surroundings for anything unusual. Suddenly, he noticed that one of the bricks on the wall behind the Red Fox was slightly different in color from the others.
Li Xuanqing's mind raced; he pointed at that brick and said to the Red Fox, "That brick behind you seems a bit strange."
The Red Fox instinctively turned around to look. This move played right into Li Xuanqing's hands. Seizing the opportunity, he hurled the Bagua Mirror into the air while shouting loudly, "Break!"
The Bagua Mirror spun in mid-air and shot out countless beams of golden light that illuminated the entire room. At that moment, the differently colored brick suddenly exploded, revealing a dark hole.
Before the Red Fox could react to what was happening, it was sucked into the hole by a powerful force. Li Xuanqing followed closely behind and jumped into the opening.
With a loud rumble, the hole closed up behind them, restoring silence to the room as if nothing had ever happened.
Meanwhile, outside the Drunken Moon Pavilion, Di Renjie and Wang Hu led a group of officials, surrounding the Drunken Moon Pavilion completely.
"Sir, do we really have to do this? The Drunken Moon Pavilion is..." Wang Hu hesitated.
Di Renjie waved his hand, interrupting him: "No need to say more, carry out your duties!"
