We carefully stored the stones and prepared to leave the rooftop.
"We can finally move on," A Meng said happily.
"But first, we need to resolve one thing," I replied.
"What is it?" A Meng asked.
I pointed to the giant eagle beside us.
"What do you plan to do?" I asked.
"I don't know either," A Meng said, looking a bit confused.
"It saved us; we should repay it," I suggested.
"But how should we repay it?" A Meng inquired.
"Maybe we can take it with us," I hesitated.
"Take it with us?" A Meng exclaimed in surprise.
"Yes," I nodded.
"But how can we carry such a large eagle?" A Meng questioned.
"Perhaps we can ride it down like last time," I proposed.
"Right, how did I not think of that?" A Meng said excitedly.
So, the four of us climbed onto the eagle's back again, ready to leave the rooftop. The giant eagle seemed to understand our intentions, placing one of its claws in my hand as if expressing closeness and trust.
We gently stroked its feathers, feeling a bit reluctant to part ways.
"Let's continue on our journey," I said.
"Okay," the three of them nodded in agreement.
Reluctantly, we left the rooftop, jumping down to begin a new adventure. It was mid-autumn, and it was already getting a bit chilly in the mountains.
We traveled through mountains and valleys until we finally encountered a river blocking our path. The water flowed rapidly, with mist rising from the surface.
"What should we do to get across?" A Meng asked.
"Hold on, let me think," I replied. We observed the river's surface, contemplating how to cross it.
"I have an idea," I suddenly exclaimed.
"What is it?" Xiao Xiao inquired.
"We can use the old turtle shell that A Meng brought to cross the river," I suggested.
"Use a turtle shell to cross the river?" A Meng exclaimed in surprise.
"Yes, we can make a small boat out of the turtle shell and ride it across," I explained.
"Great idea!" A Meng said happily.
So, the four of us immediately got to work, cutting branches to make paddles and preparing for the crossing. We boarded the Turtle Ship and entered the river. At first, we struggled to control our direction due to the swift current, but after some effort, we finally adjusted the boat's course.
"Now we start drifting and see if we can find a place with people," I said.
"Okay," the three of them nodded in agreement.
Thus, we began to drift downstream, enjoying the scenery along both banks of the river. After drifting for a long time, we finally spotted a cluster of dark buildings on the opposite shore.
"Look, there are signs of life over there," A Meng said excitedly.
"Hurry, adjust our course and head towards the opposite shore," I instructed.
We quickly adjusted our direction and made our way towards the shore, ready to explore this unknown place.
"What is this place?" I asked.
"I don't know," Xiao Xiao shook her head and said, "Let's go in and find out."
"Alright," I nodded and led the three of them through the city gate.
After entering the city, we realized that this place was unlike any we had seen before. The shop signs on both sides of the street were black with golden letters, giving off an air of nobility and grandeur. There were many pedestrians, all dressed in black clothing and wearing black hats.
"Let's find a place to stay for the night and continue our journey tomorrow," I suggested.
"Alright," the three of them nodded in agreement.
We searched along the street for a long time and finally spotted an inn. However, when we walked into the inn, we found that the written language and spoken words were incomprehensible to us.
