Lao Lu received a phone call and suddenly stood up, speaking urgently, "Lawyer Wang, what evidence do we have?"
"We have obtained your daughter's bank statements, which clearly show that she was continuously repaying the mortgage for this house while she was alive," Lawyer Wang said, her tone carrying a hint of joy.

A few weeks later, the court session began.
Lawyer Wang entered the courtroom wearing a black professional suit, her expression serious. She walked straight to the plaintiff's seat, calmly opened her briefcase, and took out a stack of documents along with several bank statements.
Sitting in the defendant's seat was Zhang Chen, who appeared visibly restless. He kept wiping the sweat from his forehead with a handkerchief, his gaze wandering and avoiding direct eye contact with the judge. Next to him sat his ex-wife, displaying an expression of arrogance and disdain.
"Court is now in session!" With the judge's command, the trial officially began.
Lawyer Wang first presented the basic details of the case and submitted relevant evidence to the court, including Lu Jiajia's death certificate, copies of the property deed, and bank statements.
"According to the evidence we have gathered, Ms. Lu Jiajia was independently repaying the mortgage for the property in question during her lifetime, which is sufficient to prove her ownership of it," Lawyer Wang's voice was loud and powerful. "Furthermore, Mr. Zhang Chen, as Ms. Lu Jiajia's spouse, not only failed to fulfill his obligations after her passing but also resorted to illegal means to seize his wife's property. His actions are utterly reprehensible!"
As soon as Lawyer Wang finished speaking, a murmur arose from the audience.
Zhang Chen's face turned pale, and he suddenly stood up, pointing at Lawyer Wang and loudly retorting, "You... you're talking nonsense! This house was willingly transferred to me by my wife; I have the property deed as proof!"
"Oh? Is that so?" Lawyer Wang sneered, calmly pulling out a document from his briefcase. "According to our country's Marriage Law, one spouse cannot transfer property to a third party without the consent of the other. May I ask, Mr. Zhang, when you were processing the property transfer, was your wife, Ms. Lu Jiajia, aware of it? Did she agree to transfer the property to you?"
Zhang Chen was immediately at a loss for words. He stammered, "I... my wife... she was sick at the time and not in her right mind, so..."
"Sick? Not in her right mind?" Lawyer Wang interrupted him and turned to the judge. "Presiding Judge, I request that the court summon the defendant's witness, Ms. Chen Rong, who sold the property in question to Mr. Zhang Chen, to testify!"
The judge nodded and signaled for the bailiff to summon the witness.
Before long, Chen Rong was brought into the courtroom by the bailiff.
"Witness, please answer the questions posed by our lawyer truthfully," the judge said sternly.
"Yes... yes," Chen Rong nervously nodded.
"Could you tell us when you purchased the property in question from the defendant, Mr. Zhang Chen?" Lawyer Wang asked.
"About... three years ago," Chen Rong recalled.
"Are you certain it was three years ago?" Lawyer Wang pressed further.
"Y-yes... I confirm." Chen Rong's tone was somewhat hesitant.
Lawyer Wang turned to the judge, pointing at the bank statement in his hand, and said loudly, "Presiding Judge, according to the bank statement, Ms. Lu Jiajia made her last mortgage payment in June three years ago, while the defendant, Mr. Zhang Chen, completed the property transfer procedures in July of the same year. How do you explain this?"
Lawyer Wang's questioning echoed in the courtroom, and an immediate silence fell over the room.
