Zheng Yi and Liu Wang first met on a summer day filled with the incessant chirping of cicadas. At that time, Zheng Yi had just been admitted to the best police academy in City A, and he was known as a top student at the school. Handsome, fit, academically gifted, and skilled, he excelled in every aspect, making him the center of attention and causing many girls to blush. Most of the male students at the police academy were full of youthful vigor, and seeing the female students' attention focused solely on Zheng Yi inevitably led to some discontent. They would often pick fights with Zheng Yi for no reason. Zheng Yi was not one to back down, and he would directly confront those causing trouble, often ending up in the headmaster's office as a result. 0

Proud as he was, when faced with the questioning of the headteacher, Zheng Yi did not speak up to report that his opponent had specifically targeted him. Instead, he just pursed his lips with a calm expression, leaving the headteacher both fond and resentful of this proud student. 0

On a typical afternoon, Zheng Yi was unsure how many times he had been summoned to the headmaster's office this week. He was puzzled because he hadn't been in any fights these past few days. Why was this old man asking him to come in for tea again? When he opened the door, he found not only the familiar headteacher sitting inside, but also a poised middle-aged man. 0

When the headteacher introduced this man as the Director of the City A Population Management Bureau, Zheng Yi's mind went blank for a moment. Could it be that he had inadvertently fought the director's son? He hadn't heard that any of those troublemakers had a father who was an official. 0

The man looked at Zheng Yi with a puzzled expression, smiled and said, "Young man, don't worry. I came this time because I need your help with something." For some reason, the man in front of him seemed kind, but Zheng Yi did not see kindness in his smile, only a hint of cunning and cruelty. 0

The headteacher quickly replied obsequiously, "It's an honor for this child to help the director. You are too kind." As he spoke, he signaled to Zheng Yi, hinting that he should speak respectfully to the director. 0

Zheng Yi's rebellious spirit rose. Whether he was a director or the king, it had nothing to do with him. Why should he have to bow down to him? 0

Zheng Yi had a disdainful attitude, but Liu Changsheng was not angry. Instead, he clapped his hands and laughed heartily. "A good man with integrity, worthy of my daughter!" He had come to the police academy this time to find a personal bodyguard for his daughter Liu Wang, who was still in her senior year of high school. 0

Whenever his daughter was mentioned, Liu Changsheng would be filled with a headache. Not long ago, Liu Wang accidentally discovered a pyramid scheme hideout after school and immediately made a real-name report. When the police arrived, most of the criminals were still there, but two top-level members took the opportunity to escape and have not been apprehended to this day. 0

After that, Liu Wang occasionally received some death threats. At first, she thought it was a prank among classmates, until the most recent time when she received several photos of herself being secretly taken on her way to school, with very obscure angles and her head being deeply scratched with a small knife. The photos were signed with the emblem of the pyramid scheme hideout. 0

Liu Changsheng just realized that his daughter has been targeted by the two escaped criminals from a pyramid scheme, and they are looking for an opportunity to retaliate. This loving father was startled, and in order to protect his daughter and catch the criminals, he plans to find the strongest student from the police academy. 0

Liu Changsheng had considered hiring a professional bodyguard from a security company, but was rejected by Liu Wang. Liu Wang meant that as a high school senior, having a bodyguard around would attract too much attention. Additionally, bodyguards are only responsible for protection, not for catching criminals, which they are not good at. 0

After much thought, Liu Changsheng still plans to select someone from the police academy. On one hand, the chosen person will be close to his daughter's age, so they can go to school together without drawing too much attention. On the other hand, most students at the police academy have a background in criminal investigation, which can help the police catch the two fugitives sooner, allowing his daughter to focus on her studies without worry. 0

After listening to Liu Changsheng's request, Zheng Yi laughed disdainfully. He was met with a stern look from the headteacher, but he didn't care. "I'm not short of money," he said. He didn't lack money, so he wouldn't bother with this kind of trouble. 0

As he was about to leave, Liu Changsheng's voice sounded behind him, "I knew I didn't misjudge you, you're a good lad! But... what you lack is not money, it's your identity." Zheng Yi indeed stopped in his tracks, turned around with narrowed eyes to look at Liu Changsheng. This was his angry expression. 0

"Aren't you always looking for your biological parents? I am the director of the Population Bureau, finding people is simply too easy for me." He laughed a few times, then changed his tone, and said to Zheng Yi with a sinister tone, "But for you, young man, in such a vast country, where will you find your parents?" 0

As expected, Zheng Yi agreed to Liu Changsheng's request. Zheng Yi had been separated from his parents since he was young and was raised by an orphanage. He entered the police academy largely to find his biological parents and ask them in person whether he had been separated from them or abandoned. Zheng Yi moved into Liu Changsheng's home as his adopted son and lived in the adjacent room to Liu Wang. When he moved in, Liu Wang was still in class, and he was curious about what kind of girl she was to be foolish enough to report a pyramid scheme den openly. 0
