Cheng Cheng slammed his phone onto the ground. "Jiang Banxia, you really have some nerve! Just because Shen Linxi has money, you throw yourself at him and become so cheap?"
Shen Linxi grabbed Cheng Cheng by the collar and pushed him against the railing of the terrace, half of his body hanging over the edge. "Cheng Cheng, try saying that again."
Cheng Cheng's face turned pale. "Shen Linxi, you're doing this for a woman..."
Shen Linxi stared at him fiercely. "Jiang Banxia is my girlfriend. She's the one insulting me. Do you understand?"
Cheng Cheng's eyes widened in disbelief. "What did you say?"
Shen Linxi sneered. "You better think about your own worth from now on. How dare you bully someone in front of me? Who do you think you are?"
I was so scared my heart nearly stopped. "Shen Linxi, don't be impulsive. Let him go..."
Shen Linxi glanced down at me. "What are you afraid of? Killing him would be as easy as squashing an ant."
Cheng Cheng's face turned ghostly white, and in that moment, he realized just how vast the gap between him and Shen Linxi was. He felt anger, resentment, and jealousy that nearly drove him mad, but at that moment, all of it turned into powerlessness.
Cheng Cheng's face flushed red with rage, his voice trembling. "You..."
Shen Linxi let out a cold laugh and pushed him hard, causing Cheng Cheng to fall to the ground. He coughed for a long time before recovering.
Shen Linxi adjusted his collar casually and said, "Cheng Cheng, do you really think Jiang Banxia can't live without you?"
Cheng Cheng looked up, glaring at us. "When did you two get together?"
I recalled that day in the classroom when Cheng Cheng came to find me; he must have seen the hem of my school uniform skirt. No wonder he had been reluctant to leave that day.
"What does it have to do with you?" I retorted.
Cheng Cheng clenched his fists. "Jiang Banxia, you deliberately got close to Shen Linxi just to make me regret it, right? Well, let me tell you, you've succeeded!"
I was speechless. "Cheng Cheng, you're being way too narcissistic."
Cheng Cheng wanted to say something else, but Shen Linxi shot him a cold glance and commanded, "Get lost!"
Cheng Cheng dared not oppose Shen Linxi; no matter how unwilling he was, he could only watch helplessly as Shen Linxi took me away.
On the way back, I felt restless.
Shen Linxi noticed my unease and squeezed my hand, asking, "What's wrong?"
After hesitating for a long time, I finally spoke up, "You shouldn't have done that today. Cheng Cheng is vengeful; I'm afraid he..."
Shen Linxi interrupted me, his voice turning cold. "Afraid he'll vent his anger on me?"
I bit my lip and fell silent.
Shen Linxi stared at me. "Jiang Banxia, do you look down on me that much?"
I shook my head. "I just regret getting involved with you. What if I drag you down..."
Shen Linxi replied coldly, "So what?"
I took a deep breath. "How about we just take a break for now?"
In the next moment, Shen Linxi grabbed my chin and leaned in slightly, his gaze fierce. "Jiang Banxia, say that again?"
I was forced to meet his eyes, and the anger in his gaze startled me.
"Go on!" His voice was filled with anger.
My eyes turned red. "Shen Linxi, are you threatening me?"
Shen Linxi stared at me for a long time; the hostility around him gradually faded away, like a deflated balloon, leaving him somewhat helpless.
"Jiang Banxia, sometimes I really wish I could just kill you."
I lowered my head, unable to look at him.
Shen Linxi ruffled my hair. "Jiang Banxia, what do you think I see you as?"
I looked up at him in confusion.
Shen Linxi scoffed lightly. "Do you think I’m with you just because I like your figure?"
My heart skipped a beat.
Shen Linxi held my chin firmly. "I like you as a person; it doesn't matter what kind of person you are—if it's you, then I like you. Do you understand?"
I stared at him in a daze.
