"Qian Qian, you won't lie."
"What's wrong with you?"
"I'm tired."
I casually found a reason.
"The road is long, I can't walk anymore."
"Then why didn't you say so earlier?"
Xiao Yi raised an eyebrow.
"I didn't want to say it before."
I pouted.
"Then what do you want to say now?"
Xiao Yi seemed a bit helpless.
"I want you to carry me."
I looked at Xiao Yi and spoke confidently.
Xiao Yi looked at me and said with a hint of amusement, "This habit of taking advantage of me really developed when I lost my memory."
I pouted and remained silent.
"Get on."
Xiao Yi squatted down in front of me.
I looked at him in surprise.
"Weren't you the one who said you wouldn't carry me?"
Xiao Yi turned back to look at me and chuckled.
"When did I say I wouldn't carry you?"
"Hurry up and get on."
I climbed onto Xiao Yi's back.
He lifted me up and started walking forward step by step.
"Qian Qian, do you know?"
"I had a dream last night."
"In the dream, there was a little girl, and I killed someone; she was so scared she couldn't even stand up."
"She cried and asked me to carry her back."
"I told her she couldn't and had to walk back by herself."
"But in the end, I still carried her back."
I was taken aback and instinctively asked, "Why?"
Xiao Yi chuckled softly.
"Because that girl cried and begged me."
"Though I said I couldn't, my heart had already softened."
"Then..."
I cautiously looked at Xiao Yi.
"What happened to that little girl later?"
Xiao Yi fell silent for a moment and suddenly sighed.
"I don't know."
I felt a bit disappointed and buried my head in his neck.
"That girl, you really didn't abandon her, did you?"
Xiao Yi shook his head.
"How could I possibly abandon her?"
My eyes stung, and I reached out to wrap my arms around Xiao Yi's neck.
"That's great."
I closed my eyes.
Xiao Yi probably didn't remember those things anymore.
But he remembered that feeling.
For me, that was already enough.
Xiao Yi carried me home.
As we entered the door, he seemed to recall something.
"Luo Yu entered the capital without permission; his intentions are not small."
"During this time, you mustn't wander around."
"I understand," I nodded.
In my memory, Luo Yu and Xiao Yi often argued.
But no matter how fierce the fights were, Luo Yu had never looked like he did today.
He watched those people with cold eyes.
To him, human life seemed to mean nothing at all.
He only wanted that position.
After their argument that day, Luo Yu stopped beside me. He pinched my chin and looked directly into my eyes.
"Qian Qian, you and your father are both worthless."
I frowned and replied irritably, "You're the worthless one."
Luo Yu chuckled lightly and straightened up.
"You and your father are the same, only knowing how to beg for pity."
"You and Xiao Yi are the same, both worthless."
Luo Yu sneered and turned to leave.
A few days later, Luo Yu came to my door drunk. His eyes were glazed over as he got straight to the point, asking me, "You like Xiao Yi, don't you?"
I was taken aback and stared at him in confusion.
"Luo Yu, do you even know what you're saying?"
Luo Yu smirked slightly, his expression unreadable as he looked at me.
"Qian Qian, Xiao Yi is the son of a prostitute."
"Even though he has risen to prominence now and others respect him out of fear, it's still hard to get close to him."
"He never thought about marrying before, and he doesn't think about it now either."
"Besides you, no one would dare to love him."
"What exactly do you mean?"
I looked at him, suddenly feeling lost. I didn't know whether what he said was true or false.
Luo Yu smirked again but said nothing more before turning to leave.
I sat in the corridor, feeling dazed as I let the cold wind blow over me. Xiao Yi had opened the window at some point.
