"Who is it?" Xiao Mei asked curiously.
"Lu Hao," Li Ting replied.
"What did he call you for?" Xiao Mei pressed on.
"He said he would come to pick us up soon," Li Ting said.
"Wow, that's so thoughtful!" Xiao Mei exclaimed in surprise.
Li Ting smiled but remained silent, feeling sweet inside.
At 10:20, the fireworks show ended, and the audience began to disperse.
Li Ting and her roommates walked along the riverbank for a while before finding a place to sit and wait for Lu Hao.
"There are so many people here; it will probably be hard to get a taxi," Xiao Min said.
"Yeah," Li Ting nodded.
"Li Ting, why don't you have Lu Hao drive over here directly?" Xiao Mei suggested.
"No way," Li Ting shook her head, "Parking isn't allowed here."
"Then let him park further away, and we can walk over," Xiao Mei said.
"That would be just as good as us hailing a taxi ourselves," Xiao Min remarked.
"Oh come on, I was just saying that casually," Xiao Mei stuck out her tongue.
The four of them waited for a while when suddenly a black Mercedes-Benz stopped in front of them.
The window rolled down, revealing Lu Hao's handsome face.
"Get in," he waved at them.
"Wow, a Mercedes!" Xiao Mei couldn't help but exclaim.
"Li Ting, your boyfriend is so rich!" Xiao Min also expressed her surprise.
Li Ting's face turned red, "Stop joking; he's just an ordinary friend of mine."
"We don't believe you," Xiao Mei and Xiao Min exchanged knowing smiles before getting into the car.
Li Ting had no choice but to get into the car as well.
Lu Hao drove away from the riverbank and then asked, "Where are you guys going?"
"Back to school," Li Ting replied.
"Okay," Lu Hao nodded and focused on driving.
The car was quiet for a moment when Xiao Mei suddenly asked, "Senior, do you have a girlfriend?"
"No," Lu Hao answered.
"Really?" Xiao Mei's eyes lit up. "What kind of girlfriend are you looking for?"
"Um..." Lu Hao smiled, "I haven't thought about it yet."
"Then what do you think of Li Ting?" Xiao Mei continued to probe.
Lu Hao glanced at Li Ting, who was looking at him. Their eyes met, and both were taken aback.
"I..." Lu Hao's face suddenly turned red. "I think Li Ting... she's quite cute."
Li Ting's heart inexplicably raced, and her cheeks flushed.
"Hahaha, Senior, you're blushing!" Xiao Mei laughed loudly. "Do you like Li Ting?"
"I..." Lu Hao's face turned even redder. "I..."
"Stop messing around," Li Ting quickly interrupted him and said to Lu Hao, "Don't listen to her nonsense."
"I'm not talking nonsense," Xiao Mei said. "Senior, just admit that you like Li Ting."
Lu Hao was silent for a moment before quietly saying, "I do like her."
Li Ting was stunned, while Xiao Mei and Xiao Min exchanged glances and smiled.
"What about you?" Xiao Mei eagerly asked. "Do you like him?"
Li Ting came back to her senses, pondered for a moment, and then replied, "I... I also like him."
The car fell silent for a moment before erupting in cheers.
"That's great!" Xiao Mei exclaimed excitedly.
Xiao Min also smiled and said, "Finally, lovers become a couple!"
Li Ting and Lu Hao exchanged shy smiles.
"I'll take you back to the dormitory," Lu Hao said.
"Okay," Li Ting nodded.
Lu Hao drove the car to the dormitory building, and the four of them got out.
"Thank you," Li Ting said to Lu Hao.
"You're welcome," Lu Hao replied with a smile.
"Well, we're leaving now. Goodbye, senior," Xiao Mei waved at him.
"Goodbye," Lu Hao waved back at them.
Li Ting walked into the dormitory building with her roommate, and she let out a sigh of relief once they entered the elevator.
The scene from earlier felt like a dream.
She and Lu Hao actually liked each other.
"Li Ting, congratulations!" Xiao Min said with a smile.
"Thank you," Li Ting smiled back.
"So when do you plan to get together with Lu Hao?" Xiao Mei asked curiously.
"I haven't thought about it yet," Li Ting replied.
"How about letting him pursue you for a while?" Xiao Mei suggested.
"Um..." Li Ting hesitated, "Is that okay?"
"Why wouldn't it be?" Xiao Mei said, "Dating isn't like grocery shopping; you shouldn't just agree casually."
"You make a good point," Li Ting nodded, "Then I won't tell him my thoughts for now."
"That's the spirit," Xiao Mei patted her shoulder, "Don't worry, we support you."
"Thank you both," Li Ting said, feeling touched.
