“Li Ting…” Lu Hao called softly.
“Hmm?” Li Ting looked at him.
Lu Hao was silent for a moment, then said, “Can I pursue you?”
Li Ting was taken aback for a moment, then her cheeks flushed.
“Hmm.” She gently nodded.
Lu Hao smiled, “Thank you, Li Ting.”
Li Ting smiled back, her heart filled with happiness.

After the New Year, Li Ting successfully passed the Subject Two exam.
She was extremely happy and during the New Year's Eve dinner, her father held up a banner that read: Congratulations Li Ting on passing the Subject Two exam!
Li Ting looked at the banner and couldn't help but smile.
“Thank you, Dad!” she said as she hugged her father's neck and kissed him on the cheek.
“Hahaha, you're welcome!” her father laughed joyfully.
After the New Year's Eve dinner, Li Ting returned to her bedroom.
As soon as she lay down on her bed, her phone rang.
She picked it up and saw it was a call from Lu Hao.
She answered the phone with a “Hello.”
“Li Ting, congratulations!” Lu Hao's cheerful voice came through.
“Congratulations to you too!” Li Ting replied with a smile.
“Congratulations for what?” Lu Hao asked in confusion.
“You passed Subject Two too,” Li Ting said.
“Hmm?” Lu Hao exclaimed in surprise, “How did you know?”
“Because I saw your post on social media,” Li Ting explained.
Lu Hao had posted a photo of himself with his coach, captioned: Just passed Subject Two, so happy!
“So you saw it,” Lu Hao smiled.
“Yeah,” Li Ting nodded.
"Should we celebrate?" Lu Hao suggested.
"How do we celebrate?" Li Ting asked.
"Go out and have some fun?" Lu Hao proposed.
"It's too late; my parents definitely won't agree," Li Ting replied.
"Then how about tomorrow?" Lu Hao said again.
"Tomorrow won't work either; I have to go back to school," Li Ting stated.
"I see," Lu Hao said, sounding a bit disappointed.
"I'm sorry," Li Ting apologized.
"It's okay; we'll have plenty of opportunities in the future," Lu Hao reassured her.
"Yeah," Li Ting nodded.
The two chatted for a while longer before hanging up the phone.
The day before school started, I was called back to Driving School by my instructor to endure some scolding while painfully practicing for the driving test. After several days of bumping around, I barely managed to complete the course by the time school started.
The instructor asked me, "Do you want to take a few more days off to practice and pass the driving test before returning to school?"
"No, that's not necessary," I declined.
I couldn't help being slow at learning, and if I took more time off, my advisor would probably get angry.
I spent the afternoon shopping with my roommates and, before parting ways, asked them if they wanted to go eat hot pot that Lu Hao was treating us to.
They all silently exchanged glances; Xiao Min and Zhang Qian left first, while Mei looked at me, then at them, and shrugged her shoulders.
"I understand," I said.
"Good luck," she replied.
"Thanks," I nodded and turned towards the hot pot restaurant.
Lu Hao was already waiting there; he had ordered the food, and I sat down, placing my backpack on the chair next to me.
"Have you been waiting long?" I asked him.
"No," he shook his head and handed me the menu, "Take a look and see if you want to add anything."
"No thanks, it's already a lot," I replied.
He nodded and fell silent again.
We quietly ate and chatted casually. Halfway through our meal, my phone rang. I took it out to check; it was a call from Driving School.
I answered, "Hello, Coach."
"How's your practice for the third driving test going?" the coach asked.
"It's going okay," I replied.
"Then hurry up and sign up; don't waste time," the coach urged.
"But... I'm not ready yet," I hesitated.
"What do you mean you're not ready? You've practiced for so long; you should be fine," the coach said impatiently.
"But..." I wanted to say more, but the coach interrupted me, "No 'buts.' Just sign up, do you hear me?"
"Okay, I hear you," I responded.
"Alright then, I'm hanging up," the coach said before ending the call.
I put down my phone and sighed.
"What's wrong?" Lu Hao asked.
"The coach is pushing me to sign up for the third test," I said.
"Isn't that a good thing?" Lu Hao replied.
"But I'm not ready yet," I expressed my frustration.
"You can practice a bit first," Lu Hao suggested.
"But I don't have a car," I said.
"I do," Lu Hao said.
"You?" I looked at him in surprise.
"Yeah," Lu Hao nodded. "I can borrow my friend's instructor car for you to practice."
"That's great!" I exclaimed excitedly.
"I don't have class tomorrow morning; I'll take you to practice driving," Lu Hao said.
"Okay!" I nodded vigorously.
