"Shall we have a drink to celebrate?" Ye Ming happily took out his precious red wine that he had secretly hidden, wanting to share a glass with Wu Rong. The recent evaluation went smoothly, and the old man had praised them for quite a while. It was Ye Ming's first time feeling so proud since taking his position, and naturally, he was in high spirits.
Wu Rong, while packing up his report, replied, "I don't have time; there are some parts that need revising." Ye Ming walked around with the wine glass before placing it back on the table. "You’re so responsible, Brother Rong. Don’t worry, I’ll save this bottle for you. When you come back with an award, we’ll celebrate with it!"
Seeing that Wu Rong was completely ignoring him and seemed ready to leave, Ye Ming quickly stepped forward and linked his arm with Wu Rong's, shaking it lightly. "Hey, why are you in such a hurry? If someone didn’t know better, they might think you have a little wife at home waiting for you. Sit down, sit down, let’s chat for a bit."
In Ye Ming's view, the situation was already settled, so his curiosity kicked in again. Wu Rong was forcibly pulled into a chair by the window and impatiently said, "I don’t have time! If you want to chat, find someone else."
Ye Ming raised an eyebrow excitedly. "Brother Rong, don’t you realize something seems off about you today? You were also distracted earlier; you seem a bit anxious. That’s not like you. When facing your beloved mathematics, when have you ever been so insincere?"
Wu Rong disdainfully pushed away Ye Ming's hand resting on his shoulder. "If I were insincere, could I complete this report?"
Ye Ming wore a look of disbelief and smirked. "Come on, what’s on your mind? Don’t keep it bottled up. There are some things you won’t understand unless you ask us seniors."
Wu Rong frowned at him. "Are you drunk without drinking?"
The more abnormal Wu Rong acted, the happier Ye Ming became. "Is it about yesterday…"
Before Ye Ming could finish his sentence, he noticed Wu Rong's expression suddenly change. It wasn’t because of what Ye Ming said but because through the third-floor window, Wu Rong seemed to see something that made his face darken instantly.
His expression resembled the time in college when Ye Ming had secretly eaten his favorite dessert.
Confused, Ye Ming followed Wu Rong's gaze and saw several students chatting and reading in the sun on the lawn below. However, on one of the benches sat Long Yong and Rao Jie.
Rao Jie held a book in her hands while Long Yong appeared to be carefully eating a dark dessert. The two were laughing together, their smiles brighter than the flowers nearby—a perfect picture of young love!
Suddenly, there was a loud bang. Ye Ming jumped in surprise and came back to reality to find that Wu Rong had inadvertently kicked his table with his long leg, causing the wine on the table to sway dangerously.
Heart racing, Ye Ming hurriedly rushed forward to steady his precious red wine and looked back at Wu Rong in shock.
At that moment, Wu Rong was holding his chin with one hand, seemingly trying to hide his irregular breathing, while casting a gloomy glance in that direction.
"Seriously?" Ye Ming exclaimed in disbelief.
Wu Rong turned around, his expression fierce, and lowered his hand. "What?"
Ye Ming opened his mouth and took a while to find his voice. "Well... do you really have feelings for that girl? You... you... Wu Rong... have you really fallen for a girl?"
