The rain was pouring down. Qian Fan came over, holding an umbrella.
Seeing me, he sighed, and a hint of pity flashed in his eyes. "Li Zixuan, stop crying."
"If you keep crying, I'm going to feel heartbroken." He squatted down and wiped my tears away. "Let's go home together."
I stared at him in a daze.
Qian Fan sighed again. "Do you remember?"
"When we were kids, your mother was my Special Education Teacher."
"Back then, I was withdrawn, and no other children wanted to play with me."
"Your presence was a light in my darkness."
"Every day when I left your house, you would wait for me downstairs."
"You would hold my hand and take me to see this beautiful world."
"The stars and flowers in your room are things I can never forget in my life."
"There was one time you fell down and jokingly said, 'Xiaoxuan is such a fool, she can even fall while walking.'"
Qian Fan's eyes were filled with tenderness. "Don't you remember any of this?"
"Zixuan, it's me, Xiao Fan."
I stared at him blankly, my mind a complete void.
Some details from deep within my memories gradually became clear. I remembered what Qian Fan had said.
I just forgot that those things happened to Qian Fan. After my mother died, I was taken back to the Xu family. I forgot many things.
Including this past with Qian Fan.
Perhaps subconsciously, I didn't want to recall these events.
After all, it was a nightmare for me.
Qian Fan sighed lightly, "Li Zixuan, you really have no conscience."
"My mom has always been worried about you, saying you've changed."
"She also said that Li Zixuan used to be carefree, so how did you become like this?"
"She was afraid I would be sad and fabricated a lot of negative information about you."
"I played along with your act just to be with you."
"Li Zixuan, how do you plan to make it up to me?"
I stared blankly at him, my mind a complete blank.
The rain fell harder.
Qian Fan held the umbrella and wrapped me in his arms.
I clung tightly to him, trembling all over.
We nestled closely under the umbrella, our hands tightly clasped.
We warmed each other, just like we did when we were children.
We returned to his home.
Aunt Qian was sitting on the sofa playing Mahjong, with the massager I gave her behind her.
Seeing us, Aunt Qian's eyes lit up, "Xiaoxuan, you're here?"
She glanced at me and asked, "Why are you crying?"
"Did Xiaofan bully you?"
"Come here, Aunt Qian will buy you some candy."
I threw myself into her arms and cried out loud.
The rain poured down.
I shared an umbrella with Qian Fan.
We leaned closely against each other, reminiscing about the little moments we had.
"Li Zixuan, do you know how important you are to me?"
"Every time I got sick, you would give me candy."
"You always smiled at me and said, 'Xiao Fan, you should eat more sweets so you won't feel bitter.'"
"Do you know why I give you star candy?"
I looked up at him, my eyes filled with tears.
"Because you are my little star."
"You are the light of my life."
"Li Zixuan, please don't abandon me again."
"Let's be good together, okay?"
I hugged him tightly and nodded repeatedly.
The rain stopped.
Qian Fan walked me home.
"Zixuan, do you still want to break up?"
I shook my head, "No more breaking up."
We will never part again.
We both understood each other's pain and struggles.
From now on, we will cherish each other even more.
Qian Fan smiled and said, "Li Zixuan, remember this."
"No matter what happens in the future, you must believe that I love you."
"In my heart, there will always be only you."
I nodded, "Me too."
