It was more than five miles from the city, but it was a secluded path, and with the mountains blocking the way, Xu Feng's ambush went unnoticed. Perhaps a few hunters heard the commotion, but upon seeing the situation, they pretended not to notice. 0

Xu Feng dragged Li Yaoshi into the woods, picked up a branch, and wiped away the traces of the struggle. He also retrieved the ten large arrows he had missed. From Zhang Bei's direction, faint sounds of weeping could be heard. Xu Feng knew that Zhang Bao was likely in grave danger and hurried over to check. 0

Zhang Bei was sitting on the ground holding Zhang Bao, who had his eyes half-closed. His chest was soaked with blood, and blood continued to pour from his mouth. Zhang Bei pressed on his Dantian, clearly trying to use his internal energy to heal him, but it had little effect. Having witnessed Li Yaoshi being shot through the throat, Zhang Bei couldn't help but feel sorrow due to his brother's severe injuries. 0

Xu Feng had experience in such matters; Li Yaoshi's strike was incredibly heavy. Even if Zhang Bao's internal strength surpassed Xu Feng's, he would still be unable to survive for long. The only option now was to return to Herb Hall and see if there were any healing elixirs available to save his life before dealing with anything else. 0

"Herb Hall?" Xu Feng suddenly realized. "How foolish! Li Yaoshi is a cash cow for Herb Hall; he must have medicine on him! Not just medicine, he probably has other things as well." He hurried back into the woods and turned over Li Yaoshi's body. First, he found his sword. This sword looked similar to an ordinary high-quality steel sword with no obvious differences, but its quality was far superior. Xu Feng casually struck a few stones with it, and surprisingly, it left no marks at all; he couldn't tell how it had been forged. 0

He stuck the sword into the ground and searched Li Yaoshi's body thoroughly but found no silver coins at all. Finally, he discovered a palm-sized cloth bag in his waistband. The bag was sewn all around with no opening; it appeared flat and didn't seem to contain anything, but there was no way this guy wouldn't carry something. 0

Could this be the legendary Cosmic Bag? As someone who had traveled through worlds, Xu Feng immediately thought of the magical items from Journey to the West. He examined the bag closely but couldn't find any way to open it after fiddling with it for a while. In a moment of frustration, he raised it to throw it on the ground; just as he did so, a one-cubic-meter space appeared in his mind filled with several items. 0

Having experienced a mysterious space before, Xu Feng wasn't frightened this time. In confusion, he reached out and grabbed something; when the space vanished, what he held was actually a sword sheath—exactly Li Yaoshi's sheath. 0

How did I enter that space? Xu Feng felt puzzled for a moment as he recalled his previous actions. He raised his hand again but got no response. When he forcefully threw it down again, whoosh—the space reappeared. After several attempts, Xu Feng finally understood how it worked: as long as he infused a bit of internal energy into it, he could open this space and retrieve items from within. 0

But how could I—a mere mortal—open something belonging to an immortal? Xu Feng didn't have time to ponder this question; he could only temporarily attribute it to the Golden Arrow's influence. 0

Opening the space again, this time Xu Feng clearly saw all the items inside: a stack of books, a Jade Tablet, three bottles, a pile of shiny stones about the size of his fingers, three sheets of yellow paper covered in various symbols, a bundle of layered unknown herbs, and the long sword he had just pulled out. 0

Xu Feng tried to take one of the books from the space; as soon as his hand left the bag, the space disappeared. But when he pressed against the bag again with force, the space reappeared instantly. 0

Now I understand how this works! These immortal items are indeed useful; I won't have to carry my large bow anymore! Xu Feng placed his large bow inside without issue. 0

He also stored his quiver, Willow Leaf Blade, and sword into the space until it became somewhat cramped. 0

Not bothering to examine other items further, Xu Feng directly retrieved three fist-sized bottles from within, hoping to find some elixir to treat Zhang Bao’s injuries. The bottles were crystal clear; he could see pills inside them in varying quantities. The labels read Body Refining Pill, Pill of Hunger Suppression, and Revitalizing Pill. 0

Holding all three bottles of pills in hand for a moment’s thought: he had taken Body Refining Pills before—they were used for training and effective for breaking through bottlenecks in cultivation but useless for treating injuries. He didn’t know what Pill of Hunger Suppression was for; however, Revitalizing Pill seemed like an emergency remedy. 0

Opening the Revitalizing Pill bottle released a fragrant aroma as he poured out one pill that glistened enticingly. Xu Feng hesitated to use it directly; instead, he crushed one pill and approached Zhang Bao. He instructed Zhang Bei to open Zhang Bao’s mouth and poured some crushed pill into him along with water from his water pouch. 0

Immediately Zhang Bao's breathing strengthened and the bleeding from his mouth gradually stopped; however, due to excessive blood loss, his face remained terrifyingly pale. 0

This truly is an immortal’s miraculous medicine! Both men rejoiced; with this elixir's help, Zhang Bao's life was saved—what would happen to his future strength remained uncertain and would be left up to fate. 0

Seeing Zhang Bao buried, Xu Feng ran back into the woods, took out a long sword from his storage bag, and slashed a few times at the ground to create a pit. He tossed Li Yaoshi into it, covered him up securely, and then picked up some dry branches to cover the top before leaving the forest. 0

When Xu Feng emerged empty-handed, Zhang Bei snapped back to reality and asked, "Brother Feng, where's your weapon?" 0

Xu Feng waved his hand and said, "This isn't the time to talk. We need to leave here first. This matter can't be kept under wraps." With that, Zhang Bei carried Zhang Bao on his back, and the three of them took a mountain path out of the area. They bought a horse-drawn carriage outside the city and sped westward. 0

Less than an hour after Xu Feng left, two green-clad cultivators appeared at the scene of the fight. 0

The big-nosed cultivator touched the dried blood on the ground and said, "Someone was killed here, and it was a cultivator. They just left; we just don't know which faction they belong to." 0

The bushy eyebrows cultivator replied indifferently, "As long as it’s not our Wan Jian Sect that has trouble, I don't want to deal with this nonsense." 0

"Do we have people in this area?" 0

"Yes, Li Chang's grandson often travels this route." 0

"Are you that disciple from Alchemy Hall who gathers herbs?" 0

"Yes, aside from that self-important waste, no one wants to come to Beast Reject City to deal with mortals." 0

The big-nosed cultivator's expression changed. "If it's really him, that's problematic. We need to find out if he's dead or alive." 0

The bushy eyebrows cultivator dismissed it casually. "No rush; what's so serious about a dead outer sect herb-gathering disciple? Many outer sect disciples die every year in our Sect." 0

The big-nosed cultivator was furious and shouted, "Are you an idiot? It's fine if other disciples die, but this one is different—he's Li Chang's grandson. If something happens to him, we'll be the first ones in trouble. Hurry up and search!" 0

Xu Feng ran all the way until he reached Listening Beast City three hundred miles away before stopping. Since they were traveling by carriage, they couldn't go fast, and it was already dark when they entered the city. 0

The three found a simple inn to stay in. That night, Xu Feng drove the carriage to a riverbank and plunged both carriage and horse into the water. The rushing water quickly washed them away without a trace. 0

When he returned, Zhang Bao was already sound asleep. Under the effects of the Revitalizing Pill, his complexion had improved significantly, and his internal injuries were evidently healing quickly. Zhang Bei sat quietly nearby; when he saw Xu Feng return, they both sat down at a table. 0

Xu Feng whispered, "Third Brother, we've offended someone significant this time—it's not even human. For our lives and safety, we can only run away." 0

Zhang Bei smiled and said, "We are orphans anyway; it doesn't matter where we live. When I get the chance, I'll go back and kill Hua Buyi." 0

Xu Feng ignored him for a moment before saying, "Let's split up. We've been brothers; if fate allows it, we will meet again." 0

Zhang Bei was taken aback; the words came unexpectedly. "Are you afraid that we will drag you down?" 0

"Not at all," Xu Feng replied, glancing at the sleeping Zhang Bao. "They want to kill me. I still don't know their methods, and following me would only lead to certain death." He flipped his hand and retrieved Li Yaoshi's long sword. 0

Zhang Bei was stunned into silence by the sudden appearance of the sword. Xu Feng said, "This is the long sword used by Li Yaoshi. I don't know how it was forged, but it's better than ours. You should keep it and not use it carelessly; it will be useful in critical moments." 0

After a moment of contemplation, Zhang Bei resolutely said, "Alright, if fate allows, we will meet again." Having both been through the martial world, there was no need for excessive sentimentality. 0

Xu Feng took out a Body Refining Pill and a Revitalization Pill, divided them in half, wrapped them separately, and handed them to Zhang Bei. Zhang Bei had seen the Body Refining Pill before; just these ten or so pills could bring him a significant fortune if sold. 0

"This is a Revitalization Pill; Zhang Bao relied on it to stay alive. One pill can be used in three doses," Xu Feng explained the usage of the medicine, which he had figured out himself. The dosage wasn't very precise; he just wanted to be safe. 0

"Ming Yi and I will set off separately. You go south, and I'll head north. Try to stay as far away from here as possible." 0

"Understood." The two men completed their final farewell. 0
