She turned her head in surprise and saw Jijun looking at her. His gaze was deep, as if he could see through her heart. Li Xiaolu felt a wave of panic and hurriedly lowered her head. Jijun looked at her and suddenly asked, "Are you cold?" Li Xiaolu shook her head, "Not cold." Jijun smiled but did not let go of her shoulder. His hand was large and warm, making Li Xiaolu feel an unprecedented sense of security.
The two continued walking forward in silence, yet the atmosphere was warm and romantic. Finally, they arrived at the bottom of the apartment building. Jijun stopped and looked at Li Xiaolu, saying, "Go up, get some rest early tonight." "Okay," Li Xiaolu nodded, looking at him. Jijun smiled and said, "I'll watch you go up." Li Xiaolu smiled back, turned around, and walked towards the stairs.
When she reached the stairway, she paused and turned to look at Jijun. He was smiling at her. Li Xiaolu also smiled; she waved at him before turning to run upstairs. She reached the balcony and gazed down at the street. Jijun's figure had already disappeared, with only the streetlights still shining and the snow remaining a vast white expanse.
She recalled the kiss they had just shared, and a smile involuntarily crept onto her lips. She turned and walked into her room, opened her computer, and searched for the compatibility between Gemini and Pisces. Her mouse hovered over the screen, but her mind kept drifting back to Jijun's face. She tried hard to dismiss her thoughts and focused on the screen.
Suddenly, the doorbell rang. Startled, she quickly stood up and walked to the door. When she opened it, she found Zhang Lin standing there. "What are you doing here?" Li Xiaolu asked in surprise. Zhang Lin shook the bag in her hand, saying, "I bought hot pot ingredients; we're having a late-night snack tonight." Li Xiaolu looked at her helplessly and said, "Didn't you just get back? Why aren't you resting?" Zhang Lin grinned and replied, "I'm full of energy! Hurry up; I'm starving!" As she spoke, she placed the bag on the table and opened it.
A delicious aroma wafted out immediately. Li Xiaolu sniffed the air and exclaimed, "It smells so good!"
Zhang Lin smiled and said, "Of course! This is my favorite spicy hot pot."
Li Xiaolu chuckled as she watched Zhang Lin take out the ingredients one by one. Suddenly, she noticed a red mark on the back of Zhang Lin's hand.
She frowned and asked, "What happened to your hand?"
Zhang Lin looked at her hand and her face lit up with excitement. "This is a mark from when my idol touched me!"
Li Xiaolu replied in disbelief, "You actually let your idol touch your hand?"
Zhang Lin laughed sheepishly, "I just got too excited!"
Li Xiaolu shook her head, picked up a pot nearby, washed it in the kitchen, filled it with water, and placed it on the induction cooker. Once she finished all of that and turned around, she found Zhang Lin taking pictures.
Curious, she asked, "What are you photographing?"
Zhang Lin grinned, "I'm taking pictures of the hand that my idol touched."
Li Xiaolu sighed, "You really are obsessed."
Zhang Lin giggled, "You wouldn't understand; the feeling of being a fan is simply wonderful." She gazed at her hand with a dreamy expression.
Watching her, Li Xiaolu couldn't help but feel a bit envious. She also wanted to have her own idol, but throughout her life, she had never really liked anyone. Except...
Suddenly, the shadow of Jijun appeared in her mind. She was startled and quickly shook her head, trying to push him out of her thoughts. However, the more she tried, the clearer his image became. Her heart began to race violently, and she hurriedly crouched down and hugged her head, trying to calm herself down.
Suddenly, Zhang Lin's voice broke through her thoughts: "Hey, what are you looking up?"
Li Xiaolu looked up to see Zhang Lin staring at the computer screen. She froze for a moment before remembering that she had just been checking zodiac compatibility.
She forced a laugh and said, "Nothing much, just browsing."
Zhang Lin tilted her head and asked, "Gemini and Pisces—whose zodiac is that?"
Li Xiaolu replied with a smile, "A friend's."
Zhang Lin frowned slightly. "The compatibility between Gemini and Pisces isn't very high."
Li Xiaolu asked with interest, "Oh really?"
Zhang Lin nodded. "Yeah, I read an analysis before that said even though both Gemini and Pisces are water signs, they have significant differences."
"Oh?" Li Xiaolu inquired curiously. "What differences?"
Zhang Lin thought for a moment and explained, "Pisces people are more emotional and like to fantasize; they have high expectations and dreams about love. However, Geminis are more rational; they seek excitement and novelty and find it hard to settle down."
Listening to her words, Li Xiaolu couldn't help but feel a bit anxious. Jijun is a Gemini; is he rational or emotional? Zhang Lin continued, "Moreover, Geminis are very fickle." Li Xiaolu was taken aback. "Fickle?" Zhang Lin nodded. "Yes, they like to pursue excitement and tend to be quite frivolous in relationships, making it easy for them to cheat." Li Xiaolu swallowed hard, feeling a wave of panic inside.
Zhang Lin looked at her, puzzled. "What's wrong with you?" Li Xiaolu shook her head. "Nothing... nothing at all." She walked over to the table, turned on the induction cooker, then took out bowls and plates to start preparing for hot pot.
Zhang Lin watched her with a curious expression. "Did that guy upset you?" Li Xiaolu looked at her, feeling conflicted. She wasn't sure whether she should tell Zhang Lin about Jijun. Suddenly, Zhang Lin burst into laughter.
Li Xiaolu asked in confusion, "What are you laughing at?" Zhang Lin replied, "Seeing your distracted look, I just knew you must have someone you like." Li Xiaolu was startled but feigned calmness. "Don't say nonsense." Zhang Lin laughed again. "Don't try to fool me; your expression says it all."
Li Xiaolu hurriedly touched her face and asked, "Really?" Zhang Lin laughed heartily. "Of course! Just look at your face; it's as red as a monkey's bottom." Li Xiaolu shot her a glare. "What nonsense are you talking about?" Zhang Lin chuckled. "Alright, alright, I won't tease you anymore."
She walked over to Li Xiaolu's side and patted her shoulder. "But if there really is a guy you like, make sure to seize the opportunity." Li Xiaolu looked at her, feeling lost inside.
