The room was dim, with the curtains drawn, and only the bedside lamp emitted a faint glow. Li Xiaolu looked around the room, feeling somewhat puzzled. She walked to the side of the bed and gazed at the man lying there. Jijun seemed to be asleep. He wore a mask that covered his face, revealing only half of his nose and lips.
Li Xiaolu stared at him, surprised. His complexion appeared pale, and his lips were slightly chapped. A pang of sympathy welled up in her heart as she observed him. She reached out and touched his forehead, which felt hot; he was clearly still running a fever. Concern filled her as she looked at him.
She took out her phone, intending to call him, but after a moment's thought, she set it back down. Watching the man on the bed, she felt a wave of hesitation wash over her. After contemplating for a while, she ultimately decided to stay.
She looked at him again, feeling a sense of reluctance. Moving to a nearby chair, she sat down and continued to watch him, lost in thought. Did she really like him? She pondered this question, uncertainty creeping into her mind.
As she gazed at him again, worry gnawed at her; she truly didn’t know what to do. With a sigh escaping her lips, she looked at the man on the bed once more.
After arriving at Jijun's apartment, Li Xiaolu did not enter immediately but instead quietly closed the door behind her.
She didn't want to wake Jijun, so she tried to move quietly. Beibei looked at her and let out a dissatisfied meow. Li Xiaolu glanced at it, smiled slightly, then crouched down to pat its head. "Jijun is sleeping, let's not disturb him," Li Xiaolu said gently. Upon hearing this, Beibei obediently closed its mouth.
Li Xiaolu patted its head, then stood up and took it out of the bedroom. She walked into the kitchen, opened the refrigerator, and froze. The fridge was empty; there was nothing inside. Li Xiaolu looked at the fridge, feeling a bit disappointed. She had originally thought about making something light for Jijun, but now it seemed unlikely.
After thinking for a moment, she took out her phone to order takeout. She browsed through her phone and found a restaurant with good reviews. She ordered a few light dishes, then put down her phone and looked at the fridge again. After some thought, she opened the cupboard, took out some rice, and prepared to make porridge.
She looked at the rice and then took out a clay pot, washed it clean, added the rice and some water, then turned on the heat to start cooking the porridge. While waiting for the porridge to cook, she took out tomatoes and eggs to prepare a tomato and egg stir-fry. Looking at the tomatoes and eggs, she hesitated a bit. It seemed she didn't really know how to make tomato and egg stir-fry.
After thinking for a moment, she took out her phone again and searched for the recipe for tomato and egg stir-fry. She looked at the recipe and began preparing the ingredients. She chopped the tomatoes, beat the eggs, and then started heating oil in the pan. Watching the oil in the pan made her a bit nervous.
After another moment of contemplation, she pulled out her phone again to check the recipe for tomato and egg stir-fry. Carefully following the instructions, she poured the eggs into the pan when suddenly a voice came from behind her.
Li Xiaolu was startled, and the tomato in her hand fell into the basin, splashing water everywhere. She turned her head to look at the man behind her. Jijun stood next to her, watching her with a glimmer in his eyes. Li Xiaolu looked at him, feeling a bit embarrassed.
"I'm sorry for making a mess in your kitchen," Li Xiaolu said, looking at him with some guilt. Jijun looked at her, a smile playing at the corners of his mouth. "Do you have a grudge against my kitchen?" he asked, laughing.
Li Xiaolu felt a bit shy as she looked at him. She lowered her head and softly said, "I just wanted to make you something to eat." Jijun gazed at her, his eyes flickering slightly. After a moment of silence, he stepped forward and took her hand. "There's no need to go through all that trouble; I can just order takeout," he said gently.
Li Xiaolu looked at him, hesitating for a moment before nodding. Jijun smiled at her, then led her by the hand to the living room. "You can sit here and wait for a bit; it will be ready soon," he said kindly. Li Xiaolu nodded lightly in response.
Jijun smiled again, then took out his phone to start ordering food. He ordered a bowl of congee along with several light dishes, then put down his phone and looked at Li Xiaolu. "What do you want to eat?" he asked with a smile.
Li Xiaolu shook her head slightly. "I've already eaten." Jijun chuckled and said, "Then just keep me company while I eat." Li Xiaolu hesitated for a moment before gently nodding again.
Jijun smiled at her and picked up his phone to place the order. After finishing the order, the two sat quietly on the sofa, waiting together.
