In the car, Jijun asked Li Xiaolu, "What do you want to eat?"
Li Xiaolu replied, "Anything."
Jijun smiled and said, "There’s no such thing as 'anything' in this world."
Li Xiaolu sighed, "Then what do you suggest we eat?"
Jijun handed her his phone, saying, "You choose."
Li Xiaolu was taken aback.
She was a bit surprised.
Jijun actually gave her his phone?
Wasn't he afraid she would see his secrets?
Li Xiaolu asked, "Why are you giving me your phone?"
Jijun replied, "You choose the restaurant."
Li Xiaolu questioned, "Why don’t you choose yourself?"
Jijun said, "I have no idea."

She took his phone.
There was surprisingly no password.
Li Xiaolu asked, "Aren't you afraid I'll see your secrets?"
Jijun looked at her and asked, "Would you?"
Li Xiaolu shook her head, "No."
She wasn't that kind of person.
Jijun said, "Then isn't it more reassuring for me to give you my phone?"
Li Xiaolu: "..."
She unlocked his phone.
His home screen was very clean; apart from a few essential apps, there was nothing else.
Li Xiaolu remarked, "It seems like your phone's storage has increased."
Jijun asked, "What does that mean?"
Li Xiaolu replied, "Your phone's memory used to be full all the time."
Jijun smiled and said, "Not anymore."
Li Xiaolu was taken aback.
She suddenly realized that what she had just said was something only someone very familiar with him would say.
It had been a long time since they had shared such intimacy.
She felt a bit awkward.
Quickly, she handed the phone back to him, saying, "You choose."
Jijun glanced at her and then took the phone.
He chose a Thai restaurant.
Li Xiaolu had no objections.
The restaurant was not far from Li Xiaolu's company; it took just twenty minutes to get there by car.
After getting out of the car, Jijun suddenly said to Li Xiaolu, "You just said I have many secrets on my phone."
Li Xiaolu replied, "I was joking."
Jijun looked at her and said, "Even if it's true, you can look anytime."
Li Xiaolu asked, "Aren't you afraid I'll see your secrets?"
Jijun said, "My secrets aren't worth much."
Li Xiaolu was puzzled and asked, "Why?"
Jijun smiled but didn't respond.
Li Xiaolu said, "If I discover your secrets, I'll laugh at you."
Jijun replied, "Then you'll have to pay a great price."
Li Xiaolu asked, "What price?"
Jijun looked at her and said, "My later life."
Li Xiaolu: "……"
She shot him a glare and said, "Boring!"
After saying that, she turned and walked away. However, the corners of her mouth couldn't help but curve upwards.
During lunch, Li Xiaolu said to Jijun, "I've been really busy lately."
Jijun asked, "Still busy with that project?"
Li Xiaolu nodded, "Yeah."
Jijun said, "You're just assisting, you don't have to follow it all the time, right?"
Li Xiaolu replied, "I’ve been involved from start to finish."
Jijun glanced at her.
Li Xiaolu added, "I want to learn more."
Jijun said, "Your boss doesn't seem that great. Have you considered changing jobs?"
Li Xiaolu smiled lightly, "I just graduated. It's not that easy to find a job."
Jijun suggested, "You can come work for me."
Li Xiaolu was taken aback. She looked at Jijun and asked, "Your company?"
Jijun confirmed, "Yes."
Li Xiaolu shook her head, "I don't want to."
Jijun asked, "Why not?"
Li Xiaolu explained, "I don't want others to think I got into your company because of you."
Jijun replied, "You can join based on your own abilities."
Li Xiaolu was puzzled, "What do you mean?"
Jijun said, "Flowing Wisdom Consulting is mine."
Li Xiaolu exclaimed in disbelief, "What did you say?"
Jijun clarified, "It's my company."
Li Xiaolu found it hard to believe, "But..."
She suddenly remembered that Zhang Lin had mentioned before that the boss behind Flowing Wisdom Consulting was a rich second generation.
She looked at Jijun and asked, "Are you a rich second generation?"
Jijun nodded, "I guess so."
Li Xiaolu was taken aback. She had no idea about this!
Then she thought of something.
She asked Jijun, "Didn't you say before that your family only runs a small business?"
Jijun replied, "That's the truth."
Li Xiaolu was confused, "But..."
Jijun explained, "I just didn't tell you that my family owns a global chain of hotels."
Li Xiaolu was completely shocked.
She thought Jijun's background was decent, but she never expected it to be this good!
She looked at him and said, "But... why did you lie to me?"
Jijun said, "I didn't lie to you; you just didn't ask clearly."
Li Xiaolu was momentarily speechless.
Jijun looked at her and asked, "Do you mind my background?"
Li Xiaolu shook her head, "No."
After a pause, she added, "I just feel like... I’ve gotten to know you all over again."
Jijun said, "No matter how many times you get to know me, I am still just me."
Li Xiaolu gazed at him.
Jijun continued, "I just want you to know that I can provide you with a good life."
Li Xiaolu lowered her head and replied, "I know."
