Chuyi anxiously whimpered softly, wanting to warn Yuen Ye to be careful, but the sound that came out was still just a meaningless "owoo." The Ironback Bear paid no attention to this; it slammed its forelimbs heavily against the ground, producing a dull thud, and then charged fiercely at Yuen Ye.
Seeing this, Yuen Ye remained calm and sidestepped the Ironback Bear's attack while drawing the longsword from his waist. The blade gleamed coldly, reflecting blinding light in the sunlight.
The Ironback Bear missed its strike and roared in anger, turning around to pounce at Yuen Ye again. Its massive paw swept through the air with a fierce wind, as if it intended to tear Yuen Ye apart. Agile and light on his feet, Yuen Ye dodged gracefully, his longsword dancing like a serpent, leaving deep gashes on the Ironback Bear's body.
Chuyi hid behind a large tree, nervously watching the battle. She could feel that Yuen Ye's swordsmanship was sharp and lethal, yet there was a hint of restraint; it seemed he did not truly wish to take the Ironback Bear's life.
"Roar!" The Ironback Bear, feeling pain, became even more frenzied. It wildly swung its paws, increasing its attack speed, and Yuen Ye gradually found it harder to defend himself.
"Owoo!" Chuyi saw that the Ironback Bear's claws had left a deep gash on Yuen Ye's left arm, instantly staining his sleeve with blood. Unable to remain calm any longer, she rushed out without hesitation.
Hearing Chuyi's cry, Yuen Ye was startled. In that moment of distraction, he was struck in the chest by the Ironback Bear's paw and flew backward, crashing heavily to the ground and spitting out a mouthful of blood.
" Yuen Ye!" Chuyi exclaimed as she quickly ran to his side, anxiously nudging his body with her head, her eyes filled with worry and guilt.
"I'm fine..." Yuen Ye struggled to get up but aggravated his injuries instead, coughing several times and spilling more blood from the corner of his mouth.
Seeing Yuen Ye down on the ground, the Ironback Bear thought it had won. It triumphantly let out a roar and lumbered toward Yuen Ye with heavy steps, intending to deliver a fatal blow to this human who dared challenge it.
As Chuyi saw the Ironback Bear approaching step by step, her heart filled with fear and despair. However, she did not choose to flee; instead, she stood in front of Yuen Ye, opened her mouth to reveal sharp teeth, and emitted threatening low growls in an attempt to stop the Ironback Bear from getting closer.
But for the massive Ironback Bear, it was like an ant trying to shake a tree; it completely disregarded Chuyi. The giant bear's paw was raised high, ready to come crashing down.
At that critical moment, Chuyi suddenly felt a powerful force surging within her. This force was warm and familiar, yet carried a hint of strangeness, as if it came from the depths of her soul.
Boom!
A flash of white light enveloped Chuyi's body, and the scene before her became blurry. When she opened her eyes again, she was astonished to find that she had transformed into a girl of about fifteen or sixteen years old.
She had long, lustrous black hair that flowed like a waterfall, skin as fair as snow, delicate features, and bright, clear eyes that sparkled like stars in the night sky—so beautiful that one couldn't look away.
At that moment, she was half-kneeling on the ground, one hand supporting herself while the other tightly gripped a dagger emitting a faint white glow. The tip of the dagger had pierced the Ironback Bear's chest, and blood dripped from the blade onto the ground.
"What... what is happening?" Chuyi stared at the scene before her, her mind blank. She couldn't comprehend why she had suddenly transformed into human form or how she had killed the Ironback Bear.
"You... you are..." Yuen Ye lay not far away, shocked as he watched this incredible scene unfold. He recognized the girl before him; she looked exactly like the "Savior" from his dreams.
Hearing Yuen Ye's voice brought Chuyi back to reality. She quickly stood up and ran to his side to check on his injuries.
However, just then, she suddenly felt dizzy; the power within her receded like a tide. Her vision darkened, and she lost consciousness, collapsing onto Yuen Ye.
"Miss! Miss!" Yuen Ye disregarded his own injuries and anxiously embraced the unconscious Chuyi, his eyes filled with worry and panic.
