Thinking of this, I couldn't lie still any longer and quickly threw off the blanket. At that moment, I heard Liang Xi mumble, "You shouldn't be here."
"Huh? What do you mean I shouldn't be here?" Hearing his voice, I felt relieved but also puzzled.
Liang Xi didn't respond; he just climbed up to the upper bunk and ignored me no matter how much I called out. A few minutes later, he started snoring. I rolled my eyes in frustration, wanting to pull him down and give him a good beating. What was wrong with him? No wonder Hu Xiaoyi went to sleep in another dorm.
The next day, Liang Xi was full of energy. I asked him what was wrong with him last night, but he looked confused and asked me what happened. After I explained, he claimed he didn't know anything. From his expression, it seemed Liang Xi wasn't lying; even though we had only known each other for half a year, it was clear that honest people blush when they lie.
I stared at him suspiciously for a while and asked, "You don't have sleepwalking disorder, do you?"
"Impossible," Liang Xi said. "If I did, you all would have known by now."
To me, it was just a small matter, not worth worrying about constantly. What really gave me a headache was when Hu Xiaoyi came to find me after school and said he saw Qin Senior Sister and Punk Senior walking outside together, laughing.
I was puzzled and said, "You must be seeing things. Qin Senior Sister treats that guy like dog poop; there's no way she'd be laughing while walking with him."
"Even if I'm dumb, there's no way both of us could be wrong!" Hu Xiaoyi said indignantly.
Seeing that he was a bit upset made me feel something was off. With Qin Senior Sister's personality, she would never associate with such a scumbag. What could have happened between them in just one morning? A chill ran down my spine; could it be that Qin Senior Sister was also influenced by that thing?
It wasn't impossible. Punk Senior had clearly expressed his "interest" in Qin Senior Sister yesterday. If he really had something that could affect people's minds, then using it on Qin Senior Sister wouldn't be surprising at all.
Thinking of this, I couldn't stay put any longer. I patted Hu Xiaoyi on the shoulder and said, "Get me some food; I'm going out for a bit!"
As soon as I finished speaking, I felt someone push me hard from behind and heard Liang Xi's angry voice: "Why are you hitting him?"
I turned my head and saw Liang Xi's face full of anger, which left me completely confused. Was it really necessary to be this angry over a simple pat on the shoulder? Besides, I was patting Hu Xiaoyi, not your girlfriend.
Hu Xiaoyi seemed to have a different opinion about Liang Xi and said, "What's wrong with you? We're just greeting each other!"

"Are you just looking for trouble?" I felt a chill run through me, and an inexplicable irritation began to rise in my heart. Concerned about Qin Senior Sister, I decided not to argue further with Liang Xi and ran directly toward the school gate.
In the distance, I could vaguely hear Liang Xi's fawning voice and Hu Xiaoyi's extremely impatient shout.
When I reached the school gate, I happened to see Qin Senior Sister and Punk Senior getting into a car. Without thinking too much, I raised my hand to hail a taxi that was following behind. On the way, I called Qin Senior Sister to ask what was going on. However, when the call connected, Qin Senior Sister's attitude was very cold; she told me not to bother her anymore and hung up.
I felt perplexed. When did I ever bother her? What was this woman up to?
Fortunately, the taxi driver had good driving skills and didn't lose sight of them. Soon after, Punk Senior's car entered a residential area. The management here was strict, and rental cars were not allowed to enter freely. There was no choice but for me to get out of the car and register my ID and reason for entry before being allowed in.
This delay meant that their car had long since disappeared. I wandered around the community, hoping to spot them quickly.
After about thirty or forty minutes, I finally found them in front of a standalone villa. However, there was no one in the car; they had probably gone inside.
I felt uneasy. It was well known that Punk Senior had feelings for Qin Senior Sister. Now that they were both inside together, it probably wouldn't lead to anything good.
Without overthinking it, I ran up to the villa and started knocking on the door loudly. After half a minute, the door opened, revealing a middle-aged man who looked at me and asked who I was looking for. I glanced inside but didn't see Qin Senior Sister, so I said, "I'm looking for my sister; she said she came here with her boyfriend."
The middle-aged man looked puzzled; he seemed surprised by what I said. He didn't let me in but said he would go ask first and asked me to wait at the door.
With that, he turned and went upstairs. Since the door was still open, there was no way I would just wait patiently outside. As soon as he left, I followed him inside. As I ran upstairs, I saw that the middle-aged man was talking to someone through a door. When he noticed me coming up, his expression suddenly changed to one of displeasure.
I heard a woman's scream and a man's curses coming from the room. Judging by the voices, it must be Qin Senior Sister and Punk Senior. Without a second thought, I rushed over, but a middle-aged man immediately reached out to block me. With a dark expression, he said, "How dare you deceive me!"
"Deceive you? Get lost!" I shouted as I threw a punch at his nose.
He was caught off guard by my sudden attack, and blood gushed from his nose as he let out a painful cry and stepped back, clutching his face. I kicked the door twice and yelled, "Open up! Don't think you can hide in there without consequences. Come out, and I'll make you regret it!"
After about ten seconds, the door swung open. Punk Senior emerged holding a baseball bat, looking malicious. The man I had punched in the nose also approached. Although I considered myself no slouch in a fight, facing two opponents at once was still quite daunting. After all, I was unarmed, and the only things in the villa were decorative vases and a marble table.
"Damn it, coming here to cause trouble? Are you tired of living?" Punk Senior said as he approached with the bat in hand, threateningly adding, "I'll break your legs first and then call the police on you for trespassing. You'll be locked up for three to five years!"
A chill ran down my spine; even though I wasn't very familiar with the law, I knew I had indeed made some hard-to-explain mistakes.
At that moment, Qin Senior Sister's voice came from inside the room, filled with tears as she shouted, "Pervert! I'm going to sue you for rape!"
Punk Senior turned around and cursed back, "Shut up! You came here willingly; besides, I haven't even touched you yet! Go ahead and sue!"
Hearing him say that actually relieved me a bit. Qin Senior Sister stepped out from around the corner of the bedroom; her clothes were disheveled and partially torn. Her once delicate face was filled with panic and fear, but when she saw me, there was a flicker of excitement in her eyes.
Seeing that although she had suffered some humiliation, nothing irreversible had happened, I immediately said to Punk Senior, "Even if you haven't done anything yet, you can still be charged with attempted rape. You'll still end up in jail!"
"I have money; there's nothing that can't be settled. Don't try to scare me!" Punk Senior replied dismissively.
I sneered and said, "If that's the case, I'll call the police right now. I broke in; at most I'll get detained for a bit. Plus, since it was to save someone, I might even get a good citizen award. But you? There are still pieces of clothing in your room; there are traces left on Senior Sister too—these are all evidence. No matter how much money you have, you can't erase those!"
Punk Senior was stunned by my words and fell silent for a moment. Just then, the middle-aged man suddenly spoke up: "Let them go."
Punk Senior clearly wasn't pleased but seemed to respect this man's authority. He glared at me for a long time before spitting out a threat: "Kid, just wait!"
Since childhood, I've heard similar words too many times to care. I just huffed at him, indicating that I would wait, and then walked into the house, pulling Qin Senior Sister out. She seemed terrified, trembling all over, and only dared to breathe after I pulled her out of the villa.
Seeing that her not-so-thick clothes had been torn, I had no choice but to take off my jacket and give it to her. Qin Senior Sister burst into tears. I sighed and held her in my arms, saying, "What on earth were you thinking? You walked right into a tiger's den!"
After crying for a long time, Qin Senior Sister choked out, "I just wanted to take the opportunity to get close to him and find that thing. Who knew that as soon as he went inside..."
I said, "You're being too naive. If I hadn't overheard Hu Xiaoyi mention you leaving with him today, what do you think would have happened? Please think before you act in the future!"

I brought her back to school and advised her not to engage in such dangerous activities again. As for the matter with that good friend, if I could help, I would; if not, it was just bad luck for her. Qin Senior Sister still hadn't recovered from her terrifying experience and walked into the dormitory with her head down.
Just as this matter was resolved, Hu Xiaoyi came looking for me again. Upon seeing me, he immediately started cursing Liang Xi. The reason was so simple that I couldn't believe it. Hu Xiaoyi said Liang Xi was clinging to him like he was on drugs and even got physical without any decorum; if someone didn't know better, they might think the two were really involved.
I laughed heartily, thinking it was quite something for Liang Xi to be so playful. Hu Xiaoyi saw me laughing non-stop and became very unhappy, saying, "He must have a problem! Either he's not right in the head or he's a complete weirdo!"
I took it as a small conflict arising from their excessive joking and didn't take it to heart.
That night while sleeping in the dormitory, I was suddenly awakened by Liang Xi in the middle of the night. Before I could sit up, I heard him angrily say, "From now on, you're not allowed to go near Hu Xiaoyi! You're definitely not allowed to touch him; otherwise, I'll kill you!"
Woken up from a good sleep by this kind of nonsense made my anger flare up. I threw off the covers and said, "Are you out of your mind? Who touched him! If you want to pick a fight, just say it directly instead of beating around the bush!"
