Previously, it was mentioned that Boss Yin is just a small property developer, and he doesn't have many buildings in total. We quickly arrived at the building where the incident occurred. As soon as we entered the staircase, I could feel the faint Yin Qi lingering around. The haunted house was on the first floor, and Boss Yin looked anxious, wanting to resolve the matter quickly but feeling unsafe with the darkness.
Seeing that he was genuinely terrified, I said, "Why don't you go back and bring the little ghost you have? Let's see if we can solve everything at once."
Boss Yin looked relieved and hurriedly left. I scoffed, thinking how could someone so cowardly make big money?
Due to a death, it had not yet been determined whether it was murder or suicide, so the police had sealed off the area with tape everywhere. Ajan Dong and I tore down the tape on the door and stepped inside. In the moonlight, I vaguely saw bloodstains on the floor and outlines of a body drawn out. Ajan Dong stood still upon entering, his face serious as he surveyed the surroundings, as if he saw many things. His expression made me uneasy, and I didn't dare to speak; I could only stand by patiently waiting for answers.
After a while, Ajan Dong took a step forward. He walked over to the outline of the body drawn by the police, crouched down to pick up some bloodied dust from the ground, and sniffed it. Then he moved around each bedroom, examining everything. For nearly thirty minutes, he kept walking without stopping or saying a word.
When he returned to the living room, Ajan Dong crouched down to look at a groove dug out by an electrician. He then stood up and said, "It's very troublesome."
Those three simple words felt as heavy as a mountain. I had witnessed Ajan Dong's abilities; no matter how terrifying a malevolent spirit was in front of him, it was insignificant. But this time, when he said it was troublesome, it indicated that things were indeed complicated.
I glanced down at the groove but didn't notice anything unusual, so I asked Ajan Dong what exactly was troublesome about it. He replied, "There is not only a malevolent spirit here but also remnants of some kind of magical aura. However, the aura is very weak and difficult to trace. The only thing we can be sure of is that there is something wrong underground in this building. It would be best to call Victim and ask if there were any unusual occurrences during construction."
I nodded and picked up my phone to call Boss Yin to ask where he was. Boss Yin said he would arrive shortly; just as he finished speaking, he walked in. I saw that he was holding a black sculpture that looked like a child but had most of its head smashed in. It was clear that this must be the little ghost he had brought.
Seeing that he had arrived, I quickly relayed Ajan Dong's question to him. After hearing it, Boss Yin paused for a moment, then slightly turned his face away and stammered, "Well... there wasn't anything bad..."
With his acting skills, even a fool wouldn't be deceived. I said, "If you don't tell us the truth, we won't be able to resolve this matter."
After saying that, I pretended to leave, and Boss Yin immediately panicked, pulling me back. He looked helpless and said, "You little brother, leaving just because we disagree? That's really not giving anyone a way out..."
I replied, "A way out? I'm afraid if I give you a way out, you won't have the life to walk down it. Let me be clear: this matter is indeed tricky, and it's no wonder that person asked you for three hundred thousand. If you want to live, you need to explain everything clearly; otherwise, even if a deity came down, they wouldn't be able to save you."
Hearing how serious the situation was being described, Boss Yin dared not hide anything further. He sighed and said, "When we were building this property, something did happen..."
When the foundation was first being dug, after digging three to five meters down, a worker called to say that blood was bubbling up from the ground. Boss Yin rushed to the site and indeed saw a pool of blood bubbling up. Not understanding the supernatural aspects of it, he thought they had dug into some underground creature and ordered the area to be excavated further.
However, the blood kept flowing more and more, and the foul smell reached many nearby residents. Some said there must be something strange hidden underground and advised against digging any further.
But Boss Yin disagreed; he had borrowed money from everywhere to invest several million into this project. If it wasn't built, his whole family would be forced to jump off a building! Under Boss Yin's pressure, the workers had no choice but to continue working. However, when someone tried to block the source of the blood, they suddenly went mad and slammed their head into a loader, nearly severing half their skull.
Once this incident occurred, the workers immediately began to stir up trouble. With public anger rising, they certainly couldn't continue working. Left with no choice, Boss Yin had to look for someone who could solve this kind of problem. Surprisingly, he managed to find a wandering monk.
The monk wore tattered robes and held a bowl; if you told someone he was begging for alms, they would believe it. When this monk arrived at the site with Boss Yin and took a look around, his expression changed drastically as he chanted Amitabha Buddha repeatedly. After a while, he told Boss Yin that digging any further in this place was out of the question; otherwise, there would definitely be great chaos!
Boss Yin became anxious and said, "I invited you here to solve problems; if not continuing construction can resolve things, why do I need you?"
The monk shook his head and said, "You don't understand; this blood spring is a Ghost Land with resentment soaring to the heavens. If the vengeful spirits are released, it will surely lead to chaos everywhere!"
Boss Yin replied, "Don't talk about chaos with me; all I know is that if this property isn't completed, our family will be in chaos! Stop wasting time and think of a solution."
After thinking for a moment, the monk told Boss Yin that since the blood spring had already emerged, it indicated that this Ghost Land was damaged. The previous workers going mad was caused by being haunted by vengeful spirits. Now there was no other way but to use the body of one of those workers to cover up the blood spring and then use Gold Paint to write scriptures while burying a Guardian Arhat statue in an attempt to suppress it. Since it was meant to build a house for long-term residents, using materials like gold or silver for the Arhat's golden body would be best as they wouldn't easily decay.
Following the monk's advice, Boss Yin gave several hundred thousand to the deceased worker's family—part compensation money, part hush money—and thirdly for purchasing the body. Fortunately, the worker's family didn't care what happened to their husband's body; they only needed to know it would be buried underground.
Thus, Boss Yin used the bodies of the workers as a foundation and poured concrete all around. Afterwards, the monk wrote numerous scriptures on this concrete block and invited the Guardian Arhat to oversee the matter before it was considered complete.
I must say, this monk indeed had some skills; after that, there were no more strange occurrences during construction. Gradually, Boss Yin forgot about this incident. Later, when the building was completed, it faced a downturn due to the Financial Crisis, causing housing prices worldwide to plummet. Boss Yin cried until he was dry-eyed, but what could he do? It was an inevitable trend that one individual could not change.
If he hadn't been pushed to his limits, he wouldn't have thought of resorting to underhanded methods, like hiring a ghost to help sell the houses.
After finally selling a few units, one of the homeowners came forward claiming there were ghosts. In fact, when that homeowner first mentioned the haunting, Boss Yin recalled the blood spring unearthed during construction. However, he didn't tell the homeowner the truth; instead, he stubbornly stayed in the house until midnight, hoping to dissuade them from seeking a refund.
What happened next is well-known and won't be elaborated on further.
In short, there was indeed something wrong with this property.
After hearing Boss Yin's account, Ajan Dong considered for a moment and stated that they must excavate that area again to determine what was really going on. Upon hearing this, Boss Yin's face fell. If they were to dig several meters deep in the house, would the homeowner's family agree? But that wasn't their concern; if Ajan Dong could handle it, they would proceed; if not, then it was over.
According to Ajan Dong's suggestion, they should simply take back the house and refund the money to the homeowner. It was fortunate that only one person had died so far; if the family moved in and someone else died, things would escalate significantly. By then, news of hauntings in this property would spread worldwide, making it nearly impossible to sell.
These words struck a chord with Boss Yin. When the homeowner unexpectedly passed away, he had already considered reclaiming the house and using connections to suppress any news about it. Now, under our persuasion, he was even more determined to follow through with this plan. However, it would be quite embarrassing to buy back a unit after finally selling it.
While calling the homeowner's family, Boss Yin stomped his feet in frustration and said, "I will never work in real estate again in my next life; it's simply a death trap!"
However, in my view, Boss Yin was simply having a streak of bad luck. He started a property project only to be hit by an unprecedented Financial Crisis. If he managed to sell all the houses now, housing prices would shoot up again.
