A person beside me immediately interjected, saying, "No! Chinese pig!"
Damn it! I really wanted to get up and shove his mouth into his backside, but my whole body ached, and my head was spinning; I simply couldn't muster the strength to rise.
That person laughed and slapped my face, tossed the visa on the ground, then stood up and said a few words. The others immediately dragged us out like livestock, tying us up with ropes. Hu Xiaoyi shouted Qin Zhenzhen's name; he knew very well that once we were taken away, regardless of what happened next, Qin Zhenzhen would definitely end up in a very miserable situation.
These people were not kind; what they intended to do was far from acceptable for a normal girl.
I was furious at my own helplessness and wished I had the power of Ajan Master right now.
Wait... that's right!
Power!
Although Ajan Master wasn't here, I still had Spirit Child!
I knew that using Spirit Child would put me in a very dangerous position. Azan Kunsha had warned me many times that Spirit Child had absorbed too much blood and had grown; it shouldn't be used carelessly anymore. Otherwise, if I lost control, I would end up as a dried corpse.
But now, I couldn't afford to think about that. These people's attitude was extremely arrogant; judging by their expressions, they seemed to regard human life as insignificant. I didn't know who these people were; all I knew was that I absolutely could not let Qin Zhenzhen go through that kind of despairing ordeal!
I already felt guilty towards my boss Zhang Qichao. If Fourth Brother Hu Xiaoyi also suffered mental torment, I would truly have no face to meet anyone in the future!
As I silently called out to Spirit Child in my heart, hoping it would come out to help, the door swung open. A Thai person walked in and paused slightly upon seeing the situation in the room. The person who was binding us spoke a few words to him. He nodded and kicked me with disgust.
At that moment, he noticed Second Uncle turned over. I thought this person might have seen Second Uncle before; he looked puzzled and stood there studying him for a moment before suddenly seeming to remember something.
He walked over and spoke to the Western man who was smoking a cigar and waiting for things to be settled. Before he could say much, the man suddenly shouted angrily. The Thai man smiled apologetically, and after a while, the Western man huffed unhappily and waved his hand.
The others stopped what they were doing, and the Thai man came over, saying in Chinese, "You all can leave now; don't come back here."
I stared at him, then looked at Qin Zhenzhen and said, "I want to take her with me."
The Thai Man frowned, seemingly dissatisfied. But he glanced at Second Uncle, thought for a moment, and then turned back to speak with the Western Man. The Western Man was even angrier, throwing his cigar to the ground and shouting a few words. The two of them yelled at each other for a while before Qin Zhenzhen was finally pushed over.
She was almost scared silly, not caring about her disheveled clothes, and hugged Hu Xiaoyi while crying out loud.
The Thai Man impatiently said, "Hurry up and get lost, don't provoke us any further!"
I raised my head and carefully scanned everyone in the room. Then I said nothing, helping Qin Zhenzhen support one person each as we slowly left the room with Second Uncle and Hu Xiaoyi.
Hu Xiaoyi wasn't too badly injured; when he was being hit, I had kept him pressed down beneath me. Most of the blows from sticks and fists landed on me. In comparison, Second Uncle was hurt a bit more seriously. A blow to his head likely injured his skull, and blood was flowing from a small crack at the back of his head.
As we went downstairs, the waiter looked pale and covered his mouth in shock.
I asked him for a piece of cloth and wrapped it around Second Uncle's head. After we exited the building, I drove to the hospital.
After examination, the doctor confirmed that both Hu Xiaoyi and I had broken a few bones. Second Uncle had a mild concussion; there was a small crack in his skull at the back of his head, and he had also been kicked several times, resulting in a broken rib. He would need some time to recover. Qin Zhenzhen was relatively fine; although she had been taken advantage of somewhat, the worst possible outcome did not occur.
After Hu Xiaoyi was bandaged up, he sat on the hospital bed holding hands with Qin Zhenzhen. They were both quite silent, occasionally glancing at me with an indescribable complex expression. Strictly speaking, I was also at fault. It was my decision to bring them to Pattaya that led to this incident, putting Second Uncle in danger as well.
I felt an impulse to call my grandfather but remembered Second Uncle's dissatisfaction with me. He really disliked the trouble I brought to the Shen Family; if he found out about this incident, it would surely deepen our conflict.
In the early hours of the morning, Second Uncle groggily woke up. He held his head and cried out in pain, then complained about being thirsty. I quickly poured him some water. As he took the cup and drank a sip, he clutched his side. His fourth rib had been broken; drinking water naturally caused him pain. I felt both wronged and heartbroken, unable to hold back tears.
Second Uncle managed to drink a few sips and looked around before realizing he was in a hospital room. He asked me how I ended up here.
I told him that he had been knocked unconscious by someone with a stick and that a Thai Man had helped us out; otherwise, we might have already been thrown into the sea to feed the fish. Only then did Second Uncle remember that he had previously taken us to negotiate for someone.
He touched the bandages on his head and side and asked me how Qin Zhenzhen and Hu Xiaoyi were doing.
The two of them were in the bed next to me, separated only by a curtain. I called them over, and Second Uncle looked at them, fell silent for a moment, and then said gently, "I'm sorry for scaring you."
Hu Xiaoyi lowered her head and said, "It's fine. If it weren't for you and the second one, Qin Zhenzhen would definitely..."
As soon as this matter was mentioned, Qin Zhenzhen started to cry. Any girl encountering such a situation would surely be frightened. I could completely understand how terrified and desperate she must have felt being taken away alone and subjected to unwanted advances in that room. Back then, Senior Sister Qin had also faced something similar, but it was just Punk Senior. This time, there were at least four or five men in the room.
Second Uncle only said that one sentence to them before turning to me and asking, "What happened? You look like a pig's head; did you get beaten up?"
It was obvious what had happened; there was no need to ask. I lowered my head and said, "It's my fault; I caused you to get hurt too."
Second Uncle chuckled but winced as it pulled at his wound. He inhaled sharply, stopping me from getting up, and then said, "It's just that I'm getting old. When I was young, it was only three or five people; they couldn't even get close. But you, kid, are too inexperienced. Getting beaten up like this at such a young age—don't ever say you grew up playing with me; it's embarrassing."
His words sounded like a joke, but I knew Second Uncle was trying to lighten the mood because we were scared.
But I wasn't in the mood for jokes and said, "Stop talking; just rest well."
"Rest?" Second Uncle laughed again. He asked me to bring him my phone and said, "Where's the time to rest? You just got beaten up; how can you sleep? I certainly can't."
I didn't understand what he meant, and Second Uncle didn't explain further. He took my slightly broken phone and examined it closely before self-deprecatingly saying, "Fortunately, you didn't break my new phone; otherwise, that would be another expense."
He asked which hospital this was and after confirming it, he started making calls. Each call lasted less than ten seconds before he hung up. Although I couldn't understand Thai, based on experience, it seemed he was saying the same thing each time.
One of the calls was likely made to someone Chinese; it was equally brief as he said, "Come to XX Hospital to find me now."
He made calls for quite some time. When he finally put down the phone and closed his eyes as if resting, I asked Second Uncle who he had been calling. In my heart, I already had an answer; I just wanted confirmation.
Second Uncle didn't say directly; he only smiled and said, "There's an old saying in Chinese: reciprocity is important. Understand?"
I responded with an "Oh," realizing what he meant.
Second Uncle was always smiling, but I knew he was very angry inside.
Since I can remember, there have been people who dared to get angry at Second Uncle, but no one has ever dared to lay a hand on him. If Grandpa is the cunning old wolf, then Second Uncle is the leopard. Sometimes he plays tricks, but more often, he is fierce. You can offend him, but you must be prepared to face the consequences.
Because a leopard won't be as patient as a wolf; he will launch the most ferocious attack on you in the shortest time possible, until you become his meal!
I am not afraid of Grandpa, nor am I afraid of Second Uncle, but sometimes I am very afraid of Second Uncle. Because you never know when he will get serious with you. I have been beaten by Second Uncle more times in my childhood than by my parents combined.
That night, it was silent; nothing happened, and no one came. I even began to doubt whether Second Uncle had dialed the wrong number.
The next morning, Qin Zhenzhen wanted to go buy breakfast. Hu Xiaoyi planned to go with her, but I thought it would be better for him to rest, so I accompanied Qin Zhenzhen out. Just as we opened the door, someone was coming in.
I didn't recognize that person; he was dressed casually in short sleeves and shorts, wearing black sunglasses. He paused slightly when he saw me. Just as I was pondering whether to ask who he was, I heard Second Uncle say, "What are you staring at? Go buy food; I'm starving!"
I responded with an "oh" and hurriedly left with Qin Zhenzhen.
On the way, Qin Zhenzhen, who had been silent all along, suddenly spoke up and said, "Shen Yi, thank you."
I turned to look at her and said, "As long as you don't blame me. If I hadn't brought you here, this wouldn't have happened."
Qin Zhenzhen shook her head and said, "It's not your fault. We had a great time here, and the accident wasn't intentional on your part. Besides, if it weren't for you, I might have... Anyway, thank you!"
We didn't speak further. After buying breakfast and returning, we were immediately shocked to find that the room was already crowded with people. Even Hu Xiaoyi had been pushed to a corner to stand.
