The next day, she waited for me in the mountains. 0
She asked me, "Why do you want to get close to the Emperor?" 0
"I want to kill him," I replied. 0
"Why?" she countered. 0
"He killed my father," I said. 0
"Who was your father?" she asked. 0
" King Chengqing," I answered. 0
"Are you trying to deceive me?" she challenged. 0
"Why would I deceive you?" I retorted. 0
"When did King Chengqing have a son like you?" she inquired. 0
"I was raised outside the palace since childhood," I explained. 0
"If that's the case, then why do you want to kill the Emperor?" she asked. 0
"For revenge," I stated. 0
"Why should I believe you?" she questioned. 0
"You don't need to believe me," I replied. 0
"What do you really want?" she pressed. 0
"You marry me, and I'll take you to kill the Emperor," I proposed. 0
"How can I trust you?" she countered again. 0
"You don't need to trust me; you just need to know that no one else can take you to kill the Emperor but me," I asserted. 0
"Fine, I agree," she said. 0
"You agreed?" I asked her in surprise. 0
"Yes, I agreed," she nodded. 0
"Wait here; I'll go ask for your hand in marriage," I told her. 0
"Okay," she replied. 0

I knew Lin Qingyao was gravely ill and that an ordinary person wouldn't live beyond three years. 0
Knowing her time was short, I thought about becoming a ghost couple with her. 0
I proposed to her, and she accepted. 0
I knew she didn't have deep feelings for me, but my heart was set on her. 0
Every day, I prepared soup for her, and she praised my cooking skills highly. 0

I knew she was skilled in martial arts, so I often discussed sword techniques with her. She talked to me about the past, and I urged her to let go of her burdens. She mentioned Shen Moxuan, and I advised her not to cling to it. When she spoke of Cold Poison, I encouraged her not to be afraid. 0

She asked me, "Aren't you afraid of death?" 0
"I am," I replied. 0
"Then why do you still follow me?" she countered. 0
"I want to be with you," I said. 0
"Why do you want me?" she inquired. 0
"I want you," I answered. 0
"What do you love about me?" she asked back. 0
"I love everything about you," I replied. 0
"Would you sacrifice your life for me?" she questioned. 0
"I would," I nodded. 0
"Why are you so good to me?" she asked. 0
"I want to treat you well," I said. 0
"What exactly do you love about me?" she pressed again. 0
"I love everything about you," I reiterated. 0
"Don't lie to me," she warned. 0
"Why would I lie to you?" I retorted. 0
"If that's the case, then I'll trust you this once," she said. 0
"That's all I ask," I replied. 0

I knew Lin Qingyao didn't trust me, but I trusted her. I secretly added Ice Poison to her food and planned to torment her slowly. The more enthusiastic she became towards me, the happier I felt. 0

In my heart, I plotted that when she was completely unguarded, I would strike her down in one blow, just as she had done to my father before. Her health deteriorated day by day, yet my place in her heart grew stronger. 0

When she agreed to marry me, my feelings were mixed. Initially, I thought that by using the marriage to get closer to the emperor, I could kill him. 0

But when I was preparing for the wedding with her, I developed other thoughts. She firmly held my hand and smiled brightly at me. Suddenly, everything seemed uninteresting. I knew Lin Qingyao was seriously ill, but I didn't expect her condition to be this grave. I knew she wouldn't live more than three years, yet I never imagined she would collapse before my eyes. 0

The moment she fell, I panicked. I had initially planned to use her feelings to bring her into the palace, so that I could eliminate both her and the Emperor. But when she collapsed in my arms, I realized I had lost. She was the only flaw in my life. 0

I was captured by the Emperor's trusted aide. I thought that if I could assassinate the Emperor, it would not be a wasted life. But the Emperor's secret guards subdued me. During my interrogation by the Emperor, I confessed to everything except for the whereabouts of the antidote. 0

I knew that all of Lin Qingyao's suffering stemmed from him, and I wanted her to feel pain as a form of revenge against him. But when I saw Lin Qingyao crying in his arms, my heart ached with sorrow. Watching her shed tears made me wish for her to recover quickly. 0

I knew that only the Wooden Hairpin could cure her poison, so I told her that boiling it in water and drinking it would counteract the Ice Poison. She was overjoyed, embracing and kissing me. She said, "Liu Yu, I love you." In that moment, I knew I had lost. 0

My plan ultimately led to her demise. For many years after her death, I lived in pain and regret. I did not kill Bo Ren, yet he died because of me. The Emperor did not execute me; he merely expelled me from the imperial city. Wandering aimlessly in this world, my heart had long gone with her. 0
