Rao Jie let out a sigh of relief upon seeing the message; at least the stubborn demon king had come to his senses. Otherwise, she really wouldn't know what to do.
Lying in bed for a while, she still didn't want to get up. It wasn't that she was being lazy; she just felt uncertain about how to face Wu Rong later, which made her feel awkward.
In fact, she had already stopped blaming Wu Rong in her heart. She had probably gotten used to the "torture" from the demon king, and her bottom line regarding Wu Rong had been lowered repeatedly. Moreover, she knew that Wu Rong meant no harm towards her.
So even though she had been so frightened last night, she still hoped things could return to normal without dwelling on it.
Rao Jie tossed and turned in bed, but it was already time to make breakfast, and she still had the Wake-Up Service to fulfill! After hesitating for a moment, she resigned herself to getting up and doing what needed to be done.
Just as Rao Jie finished preparing breakfast, Wu Rong appeared. He didn't even make her wake him up.
When the two met in the living room and their eyes met for a brief moment, Rao Jie awkwardly looked away.
Wu Rong maintained his usual expressionless demeanor, but Rao Jie couldn't match his naturalness.
"Professor Wu, good morning! Breakfast is ready; you can eat first," Rao Jie said somewhat timidly, wanting to avoid spending time alone with him. Luckily, she had household chores as an excuse. "I'll tidy up your room first so you can use it later."
"Mm," Wu Rong replied without objection.
Rao Jie immediately felt relieved and hurried off to clean Wu Rong's room. However, when Wu Rong wasn't busy—especially during this period when he mostly spent his time either in class or tutoring her—he didn't do much research at home, so his room remained tidy.
Rao Jie only needed to slightly rearrange some disordered books, pick up a small amount of scrap paper, and vacuum a bit.
But when she started tidying up Wu Rong's desk, she was drawn to the Newly Ordered Draft Notebook placed right in the center.
It had no cover and went straight into the content; since the content looked very familiar, Rao Jie noticed it immediately.
Just as she was feeling puzzled, a voice suddenly came from the doorway.
"That's prepared for you."
Rao Jie jumped in surprise and quickly turned to look at the door.
Wu Rong was casually leaning against the doorframe, his voice calm and devoid of any energy.
"Follow what's in there step by step; you can improve quite a bit without needing me as your teacher. Do one test paper each day for assessment, and if there are any unsuitable or inappropriate parts, come find me, and I'll help you redo it."
Rao Jie suddenly felt a tightness in her chest; her words came out without passing through her brain first.
"Professor Wu, aren't you going to teach me anymore?"
Wu Rong frowned and replied, "Shouldn't it be that you don't want me to teach you, or perhaps you don't want me to get too close? Aren't you trying to avoid me?"
Rao Jie opened her mouth, wanting to explain. That wasn't what she meant; she just felt awkward for the moment. How did it turn into her disliking him and avoiding him in Wu Rong's words?
No... that's not how it is!
But Rao Jie was at a loss for words and didn't know how to clarify.
"You haven't done anything wrong. It's a normal reaction to feel awkward around me. I was rude before, so consider this an apology gift. If you still need my help, just let me know. I promised to help you achieve a satisfactory grade, and I will keep that promise."
Wu Rong finished speaking in a flat tone and then turned to leave.
