The temperature at night is always a few degrees lower than during the day. Today, in her haste to leave, Su Wan only put on a Wool Coat over a thin round-neck sweater. As soon as she stepped out of the Theater, the cold night wind suddenly swept across her smooth neck, causing her to shiver.
Fu Weiheng naturally felt the biting chill. He turned his head and saw her shrinking her neck in the cold. He paused on the steps and pulled her back into the Theater lobby.
Su Wan tugged at her collar and looked at him in confusion. "Aren't we leaving?"
He reached out to adjust the collar of her coat and said lightly, "I'll go get the car. It's cold outside; wait for me here."
"Aren't you cold?" Su Wan felt a pang of sympathy; he was only in a suit without an outer coat.
"I'm not cold. Just wait for me here." With that, he opened the door and stepped into the bone-chilling night.
Perhaps worried that she would wait too long, Fu Weiheng returned in less than five minutes, driving a Cayenne.
The bright headlights swept past the Theater's Glass Door, and the sound of tires crunching over small pebbles accompanied the faint hum of the engine as it approached. When Su Wan got closer, she saw that he had parked the car steadily in front of the Theater entrance.
Inside, intermittent laughter could be heard as students from the Lounge began to exit. Su Wan opened the glass door and saw him opening his car door, intending to get out from the driver's seat. She hurried over and quickly climbed into the passenger seat.
Seeing her nimble figure, Fu Weiheng smiled helplessly and closed the driver's door, instantly blocking out the frigid air.
The warmth inside the car was ample, and the warm air hit her knees, spreading warmth throughout her body with each heartbeat.
"Are you hungry?" Fu Weiheng fastened his seatbelt, shifted into gear, and drove onto the road.
"A little bit." She had been busy with the party preparations all evening and had barely eaten dinner.
Her phone buzzed twice, and two WeChat messages came in. Su Wan opened it to see a message from Xu Chengyang—
"Mrs. Fu's Little Chengyang: Guan Guan, the party is at Louis in Donghu District. We're about to head out, so hurry up and come with Deity."
Su Wan had never heard of this restaurant before, so she turned to ask him, "Xu Chengyang said the party is at Louis. Do you know where that is?"
"Louis?" Fu Weiheng raised an eyebrow slightly, his tone casual. "In Donghu District?"
Su Wan nodded. "Yes."
Fu Weiheng replied, "I know it."
Su Wan said, "Then let's go there now."
"Okay." Just then, he made a right turn at an intersection. Fu Weiheng skillfully signaled and then stopped the car in front of a convenience store. He shifted to neutral, engaged the handbrake without turning off the engine, and unfastened his seatbelt. "I'll go buy something warm to help you warm up. Wait for me in the car."
Su Wan nodded absentmindedly.
Five minutes later, the car door opened again. Fu Weiheng handed her a cup of hot soy milk and a bag of small bread rolls. "Eat some bread to fill your stomach; I’m afraid you won't be used to the food there."
Su Wan was stunned for a while before taking the soy milk, sipping it while it was still warm, feeling extremely satisfied. "Good."
The car drove back onto the road, and Su Wan opened the packaging of the bread, taking a small bite. She then turned her head to look at the person driving, holding the bread up to his mouth. "Do you want some?"
Fu Weiheng glanced down and leaned slightly forward to take a bite from the spot where she had bitten.
Su Wan stared at the spot they both had bitten, feeling inexplicably flustered. She straightened her expression, withdrew her hand, and pretended to look out at the street scenery while biting into the bread, inwardly scolding herself—
Why feel shy? It's not like I haven't kissed before. Pathetic!
After about ten minutes of driving, they arrived at their destination. Su Wan initially thought that the so-called gathering would be at a barbecue place or a restaurant for some drinks and casual chatting. However, what was with this bustling bar with its strange night scene?
Standing at the bottom of the steps, Su Wan pointed at the colorful lights at the bar entrance and looked at Fu Weiheng in surprise. "Are you sure we didn't take a wrong turn?"
Fu Weiheng remained silent, expressionless as he leaned down and took her hand, turning her finger upward in the direction she was pointing.
Following his direction, Su Wan raised her gaze to see the large LED sign that read "Louis" clearly illuminated.
Su Wan: "........................"
