"Your mother?" Lin Xue frowned and asked in confusion, "Is she here?"
Qi Feng shook his head, his eyes filled with sadness as he said, "She is missing. I have been searching for her whereabouts. I heard she once came here, so..."
Upon hearing Qi Feng's words, Lin Xue immediately felt a wave of sympathy. She gently patted Qi Feng's shoulder and said, "My condolences. We will help you search for her."
Qi Feng nodded gratefully. He looked around and realized they were in a narrow corridor, with exquisite murals painted on the walls. At the end of the corridor stood a heavy wooden door, intricately carved and looking very ancient.
Qi Feng pointed to the wooden door at the end of the corridor and asked, "Where is that?"
Lin Xue explained, "That is the Scripture Repository, where many precious Tibetan scriptures are stored."
Qi Feng nodded. After a moment of silence, he said to Lin Xue, "I am a bit tired and would like to rest."
Lin Xue nodded and said, "Alright, I'll take you to the lounge."
Lin Xue led Qi Feng through the corridor to a simple lounge. The room contained only a bed and a table, with a cup of water and a piece of biscuit on the table.
Qi Feng said to Lin Xue, "Thank you. I will rest here for a while."
Lin Xue nodded and said, "Okay, just call me if you need anything."
Lin Xue turned and left the lounge, returning to her work station to continue repairing the drainage pipes.
Lying on the bed with his eyes closed, Qi Feng's mind filled with memories of his mother's voice and smile. He couldn't help but sigh, his heart heavy with longing and sadness.
As he closed his eyes, he recalled what his mother had once told him; her voice seemed to echo in his ears.
"Qi Feng, remember that no matter where you go, always keep in mind where your roots are. Remember that you are Chinese."
Qi Feng clenched his fists tightly. He raised his head and looked out the window with determined eyes.
"Mother, I will definitely find you."
Qi Feng got out of bed and walked to the window, gazing at the snow-capped mountains outside, filled with anticipation.
He believed he would find his mother and also discover his place of belonging.
Turning around to leave the lounge, Qi Feng heard Lin Xue's voice from outside the door.
"Qi Feng, have you rested well?"
Qi Feng opened the door and saw Lin Xue standing at the entrance, a slight smile on her face and an apple in her hand.
"I brought you an apple. Please eat it."
Qi Feng took the apple, nodded in gratitude, and said, "Thank you."
"No need to thank me," Lin Xue replied with a smile. "You are my guest; it's my duty to take care of you."
Looking at Lin Xue, Qi Feng felt a warmth rising in his heart. He realized that although this Chinese girl had initially been somewhat aloof towards him, she was kind-hearted and sincere, and his fondness for her grew deeper.
Taking a bite of the apple, Qi Feng looked at Lin Xue and asked, "You still haven't told me why you were sent to Potala Palace to fix the drainage pipes?"
Upon hearing Qi Feng's question, Lin Xue showed a hint of helplessness on her face. She sighed and said, "I don't know either; I only know that this is a task assigned from above."
"Above?" Qi Feng asked in confusion. "Who assigned it?"
Lin Xue pointed to her chest and said, "My superior. His name is Lama."
"Lama?" Qi Feng furrowed his brow; he felt that this name sounded somewhat familiar but couldn't recall where he had heard it before.
Lin Xue explained, "Lama is Tibetan for 'master.' He is the administrator of Potala Palace and is responsible for managing all affairs related to it."
"Oh, I see." Qi Feng nodded. After a moment of silence, he said to Lin Xue, "I heard that there are many precious artifacts related to Western Tibetan Culture inside the Potala Palace. Would you be interested in visiting with me?"
Upon hearing Qi Feng's words, Lin Xue showed a curious expression on her face. She nodded and said, "Sure, I also need to inspect the drainage pipes, so we can go together."
Qi Feng and Lin Xue walked out of the lounge, chatting as they went, creating a very harmonious atmosphere.
As they walked through the corridors of the Potala Palace, Qi Feng admired the murals on the walls while introducing Lin Xue to Tibetan Culture.
"These murals are treasures of Tibetan Culture. Each painting contains rich stories and represents different cultures and beliefs."
Lin Xue listened attentively to Qi Feng's explanation and began to develop a strong interest in Tibetan Culture.
They reached a staircase, and Lin Xue pointed at a mural on the stairs and asked, "What is this painting about?"
Qi Feng pointed to the patterns in the mural and explained, "This painting is 'Princess Wencheng's Entry into Tibet,' depicting the story of Princess Wencheng entering Tibet during the Tang Dynasty."
"Princess Wencheng entering Tibet?" Lin Xue felt a bit surprised; she was not familiar with this story.
Qi Feng continued to explain, "Princess Wencheng was the daughter of Emperor Taizong Li Shimin. She married Tubo Zampu Songzan Ganbu and made significant contributions to promoting the integration of Han and Tibetan cultures."
Lin Xue listened carefully to Qi Feng's explanation. Her understanding of Tibetan Culture deepened, and she began to feel a sense of reverence for this ancient culture.
They descended the stairs and arrived at a large palace. The palace displayed various artifacts, including Tibetan scriptures, Thangkas, Buddha statues, and more, creating a dazzling array that was overwhelming.
Qi Feng pointed at the artifacts in the palace and introduced their origins and significance to Lin Xue.
"These artifacts are valuable heritage of Tibetan Culture. They record the history and development of Tibetan Culture and reflect its profound depth."
Lin Xue listened intently to Qi Feng's explanations. She was captivated by the charm of Tibetan Culture and began to realize how little she knew about it.
Qi Feng pointed at a Buddha statue in the palace and said, "This statue is called 'Siddhartha Gautama Buddha,' the founder of Buddhism. He taught people to cultivate themselves and embrace compassion."
Lin Xue looked at the Buddha statue, feeling a sense of calm and peace she had never experienced before.
Qi Feng and Lin Xue had been wandering around the palace for a long time, deepening their understanding of Tibetan Culture and getting to know each other better.
Lin Xue discovered that Qi Feng was not as indifferent as she had imagined; he was a knowledgeable and cultured person, as well as a kind and sincere individual.
Qi Feng also realized that Lin Xue was not someone who only complained and grumbled; she was an intelligent, kind, enthusiastic, and brave girl.
A special bond began to form between them.
Lin Xue pointed to a corner of the palace and asked, "What is that place?"
Following Lin Xue's finger, Qi Feng saw a room filled with clutter, looking somewhat messy.
"That is the Scripture Repository's storage room, where some unused scriptures are kept."
Lin Xue nodded and said to Qi Feng, "I want to go in and take a look."
Qi Feng hesitated for a moment and replied, "It's quite messy in there, and there's no light. Are you sure you want to go in?"
Lin Xue firmly nodded and said, "It's fine; I want to see."
Unable to refuse Lin Xue, Qi Feng agreed to her request.
They entered the storage room together, where dust filled the air, and a damp smell lingered.
Lin Xue gently wiped away the dust from a pile of scriptures with her hand, carefully flipping through them with curiosity in her eyes.
Seeing Lin Xue so focused, Qi Feng couldn't help but laugh and said, "Why are you so interested in these scriptures?"
Lin Xue looked up at Qi Feng, her eyes filled with excitement as she replied, "Although I don't understand these scriptures, I believe they must contain a lot of knowledge and many stories."
Qi Feng nodded. He was silent for a moment before saying to Lin Xue, "You're right. These scriptures record many stories, a lot of history, and much culture."
As Lin Xue and Qi Feng flipped through the scriptures, they chatted, becoming more and more engrossed and excited.
Suddenly, they discovered a very special scripture. The cover of the book was damaged, but it was embroidered with exquisite patterns in golden thread.
Lin Xue reached out to pick up the book and carefully turned its pages, revealing a look of surprise on her face.
"This book…"
Before Lin Xue could finish her sentence, she suddenly felt dizzy. Her vision darkened, and she collapsed to the ground.
Seeing Lin Xue faint, Qi Feng rushed over to check on her. He noticed that Lin Xue's face was pale and her breathing was weak; she looked extremely frail.
Qi Feng panicked. He didn't know what to do and could only shout Lin Xue's name loudly.
"Lin Xue! Lin Xue! What happened to you?"
Lin Xue did not respond; she lay there with her eyes closed, unconscious.
