Lama looked at Lin Xue and Qi Feng standing side by side in the square, their faces beaming with happiness. He saw the unspoken understanding between them that transcended language and cultural barriers. The wrinkles at the corners of his eyes relaxed, and he smiled to himself; it seemed that they had truly developed feelings for each other.
He cleared his throat and said, "Lin Xue, Qi Feng, I have something important to tell you today." He paused for a moment before continuing, "Tomorrow is Tibetan New Year, and we have a traditional festival called the Yogurt Festival. There will be various exciting activities; would you like to join us?"
Lin Xue hesitated at Lama's invitation. After all, she had not fully adapted to the culture here, and she worried about feeling out of place. She slightly lowered her head and asked, "Yogurt Festival? It sounds interesting, but I..."
Qi Feng keenly noticed Lin Xue's hesitation. He gently patted her hand to reassure her not to worry and then smiled at Lama, saying, "Of course! We would love to participate."
Seeing Lin Xue and Qi Feng's reactions, Lama nodded happily and said, "That's great! Tomorrow I'll take you both. I've prepared some Tibetan attire for you to try on."
Lin Xue and Qi Feng exchanged glances filled with anticipation.
Qi Feng asked, "Lama, what kind of activities are there at the Yogurt Festival?"
Lama replied with a smile, "The Yogurt Festival is one of the most important festivals for us Tibetans. There are many activities, such as Tibetan Opera performances, Tibetan dance, food festivals, and more. Most importantly, we pray together for good weather and peace in the country."
Lin Xue also asked with interest, "And there's a food festival? What kind of delicacies are there?"
Lama laughed and answered, "Many! For example, Butter Tea, Tsampa, Tibetan noodles, Tibetan dumplings, and so on—these are all unique Tibetan dishes."
Lin Xue's eyes lit up; she loved trying various foods. With the opportunity to taste Tibetan specialties, she certainly wouldn't miss out.
She said, "That sounds great, I really look forward to it!"
Lama smiled and said, "Then it's settled. I'll pick you up tomorrow morning."
The next morning, Lama arrived on time at the place where Lin Xue and Qi Feng were staying, carrying two sets of exquisite Tibetan Attire. He smiled at them and said, "I've prepared clothes for you. Go change quickly."
Lin Xue and Qi Feng took the clothes and found that the Tibetan Attire was beautifully crafted, adorned with intricate patterns full of ethnic characteristics. They both felt excited, looking forward to wearing these outfits to the Yogurt Festival.
After changing, they stood in front of the mirror and were amazed by their reflections. Lin Xue's face broke into a shy smile; she didn't expect to look so good in the Tibetan Attire. Qi Feng couldn't help but glance at Lin Xue a few more times, noticing that she appeared more lively and enthusiastic in the outfit, radiating a unique charm.
Seeing that Lin Xue and Qi Feng were ready, Lama smiled and said, "You both look beautiful in those clothes!"
He led them out of the room toward the square. Along the way, they attracted many people's attention as everyone greeted them with smiles and wished them a Happy New Year in Tibetan.
They passed through the square and arrived at a bustling street filled with people. Various stalls were set up everywhere, accompanied by laughter and joy.
Lama pointed to a stage and said, "That's the main performance venue for the Yogurt Festival. Let's head there first."
They walked together to the front of the stage, where Lin Xue and Qi Feng were swept up by the lively atmosphere, their faces glowing with excitement.
They found a good spot to sit down and quietly enjoyed the wonderful Tibetan Opera Performance on stage.
Qi Feng whispered to Lin Xue, "I read about Tibetan Opera in a book before, but I didn't expect it to be so stunning in person!"
Lin Xue also nodded and said, "It really is wonderful. I've never seen a performance like this before."
As they watched the show, they chatted quietly, their eyes occasionally meeting, and they exchanged knowing smiles. Their feelings for each other deepened during this joyful festival.
At the Yogurt Festival, they not only enjoyed the spectacular performances but also tasted various delicious Tibetan dishes. Lin Xue praised the food endlessly; she had never tasted anything so delightful. Qi Feng watched Lin Xue eat happily, and a look of happiness spread across his face.
They also participated in traditional games organized by the locals. Lin Xue was a bit clumsy at first, but with Qi Feng's help, she quickly learned the rules, and they had a great time playing together.
On the night of the Yogurt Festival, they sat on a hillside, gazing at the starry sky. Qi Feng suddenly took Lin Xue's hand, looking at her with deep affection, and said, "Lin Xue, I like you. I want to be by your side forever."
Lin Xue's face was filled with a happy smile as she gently nodded and replied, "I like you too, Qi Feng."
They embraced tightly.
