Liu Xin has been in this unfamiliar world for six years. During these six years, Liu Xin has thought about going home more than once, remembering his mother who is far away in another world. Every time he thinks of his mother, who has worked hard all her life and now has gray hair, Liu Xin cannot help but shed tears. Moreover, throughout these six years, Liu Xin has been constantly searching for a way to return home.
Liu Xin originally belonged to another world—Earth. He arrived here due to an accident. Along with him, he brought a crystal ball inside him, although he no longer remembers it.
In this new world, Liu Xin has taken on a new name: Liu Guanfeng. He has gained a preliminary understanding of this strange world.
The world Liu Guanfeng has crossed into is called Knight Continent. Knight Continent consists of five empires. Apart from the central Guardian Nation, the other four empires each have five kingdoms, and each kingdom contains three principalities. Each capital city has four cities and several villages.
Liu Guanfeng resides in the Starfall Kingdom, which is governed by the Huaxing Kingdom under the Eastern Dragon Empire.
The reason this continent is called Knight Continent is that the most respected and common profession here is that of a knight, and the Mount is an important symbol for every knight.
Liu Guanfeng's family consists only of his father, mother, and two older brothers; the rest are servants and guards.
When Liu Guanfeng learned that there was a Guardian Nation in this Knight Continent and that the king of Guardian Nation was the representative of the world's guardian, he decided to quickly improve his strength and then find the guardian through the king of Guardian Nation. Only the guardian would know how to return home.
From that day on, Liu Guanfeng practiced diligently every day, applying everything he learned as a student into practice. His courtyard was filled with equipment that outsiders could not understand or recognize its purpose.
Liu Guanfeng did this because Knight Continent is a world that values martial prowess. The knight levels in Knight Continent are divided according to the number of meridians opened: Apprentice Knight, Junior Knight, Intermediate Knight, Advanced Knight, and the coveted Divine Knight.
The human body has a total of twenty-four main meridians. The corresponding levels are: opening two to six meridians for Apprentice Knight; seven to twelve for Junior Knight; thirteen to eighteen for Intermediate Knight; nineteen to twenty-four for Advanced Knight; and upon opening all twenty meridians and any one of Renmai, Du Mai, or Dai Mai, one becomes a Divine Knight.
Thus, within each knight level, every two opened meridians represent a stage divided into upper, middle, and lower tiers. For example, opening two meridians is considered a lower-tier Apprentice Knight while opening six meridians is an upper-tier Apprentice Knight. Divine Knights are similarly divided into three levels.
After several years of hard training, Liu Guanfeng's body is much stronger than that of children his age. From height to strength, from endurance to reflexes, he surpasses his peers significantly. However, he does not realize that these improvements are due to the crystal ball hidden in his abdomen that he has forgotten about.
One morning, after completing his usual morning exercises, Liu Guanfeng was approached by a maid who said, "Third Young Master, Madam wants you to come eat."
"I know. Please tell my mother that I will be there shortly," Liu Guanfeng instructed the maid before returning to his room to wash his face and tidy up. Once everything was in order, he headed towards the living room.
Upon entering the living room, Liu Guanfeng found his parents already seated and ready to eat. He approached them and greeted, "Good morning, Father and Mother. I pay my respects to you both."
Liu Yong'an nodded, "Alright, let's eat."
After breakfast, Liu Yong'an called Liu Guanfeng over. "Feng'er, you are already six years old. In a few days, it will be the annual Knight's Initial Assessment. You need to prepare well."
Liu Guanfeng nodded, "Father, I will do my best."
"This year, you will be tested alongside Five People. Remember that three of them are boys. If all goes well, these three will be your first followers. The Knight's Initial Assessment is a method used in the Knight Academy to evaluate a child's martial arts abilities and provide an assessment.
In other words, it determines whether a child can learn martial arts and their potential for the future. The assessment targets children aged six to seven.
Some families may decide that their child is not suited for martial arts and instead cultivate other talents for better opportunities later on.
Each Knight's Initial Assessment attracts considerable attention, especially from prominent families and ministers of the kingdom; sometimes even the royal family takes notice.
Thus, the Knight's Initial Assessment is very important for a child.
Soon enough, the day of the Knight's Initial Assessment arrived.
On the morning of the test, Liu Guanfeng got up at 5:30 as usual for his morning exercise. After having breakfast, he, accompanied by his mother and led by his father Liu Yong'an, arrived at the entrance where five children and four servants were already waiting.
The five children were all the same age as Liu Guanfeng, consisting of three boys and two girls. Among them were a pair of twin brothers, and all these children were the offspring of the four servants.
According to regulations, every child must participate in the Knight's Initial Assessment when they reach six or seven years old. The expenses for the servants' children to take the test are covered by their masters. The carriage headed towards Knight Academy, which was not far away; it only took three streets to reach it. Every city has a branch of Knight Academy, and upon getting off the carriage, they saw a four-story building in front of them.
In front of the door stood a pair of dragon-shaped stone sculptures; although they were called dragons, to Liu Guanfeng they looked more like winged lizards. Above the main entrance was a huge emblem featuring two crossed long spears above a knight standing on the back of a giant turtle.
At that moment, Liu Yong'an explained to Liu Guanfeng: "The dragon-shaped stone sculptures represent our country. Our nation is located in the east, where the largest empire is the Eastern Dragon Empire, hence there are two dragons. Our Starfall Kingdom is also considered a part of the Eastern Dragon Empire. The stone sculptures indicate that our country's most powerful knight order is known as the Dragon Knight Order or Earth Dragon Knight Order."
"The emblem above is the symbol of Knight Academy; every Knight Academy has the same emblem called Emblem. The figure on this Emblem is the founder of Knight Academy, while below him is his Mount."
"Father, who is that person above? Why is he riding a turtle?" Liu Guanfeng asked in confusion.
"Kid, don't speak carelessly; that is not a turtle. According to records, the founder of Knight Academy is our world's guardian deity named Xuan Yuan Guang. His Mount is called Bixi Beast," his father Liu Yong'an patiently explained.
Liu Guanfeng was taken aback: Bixi seems to be one of the legendary nine sons of the dragon; it truly has divine beast bloodline and is very pure. It seems this guardian deity is indeed extraordinary. Finding him should help me know how to return home. In front of Knight Academy, hundreds of carriages were parked due to a large square in front that made it feel spacious rather than crowded.
