I believe many people have had the strange experience of feeling that things in their dreams are too real.
And next, I'm going to talk about my own dream.
The story begins in my senior year of high school. For many people, the college entrance examination is a major event that determines their future, and I was no exception. Because I often skipped classes to play basketball and surf the internet, my academic performance was not good. With the help of family connections, I entered the top class of the school, but my grades were always at the bottom. My family worried about this every day, but I didn't pay much attention to it.
It was just after the Chinese New Year when the second semester of my senior year began. The whole family was thinking about how to improve my grades, but unexpectedly, my grandfather passed away from advanced lung cancer. I was raised by my grandparents when I was young, so when I heard this news, it was like a bolt from the blue.
That afternoon, I couldn't focus on anything, I couldn't even eat dinner, and when my crush at the front desk called me, I just looked at her awkwardly.
The next day, my parents asked for leave for me to go to the funeral home to see my grandfather for the last time.
When I arrived at the funeral home, I saw many relatives from my hometown also in attendance. Guided by the staff, we put on white chrysanthemums and entered the viewing hall.
The grand decorations inside the hall could not conceal the sadness in everyone's hearts. During the memorial ceremony, four people carried my grandfather's body into the hall from the back, and the host began to read about my grandfather's life.
As the host read aloud, many people shed tears, even the tall pallbearer was crying.
After the reading, the relatives and friends of the deceased could view the body. I followed behind my mother to my grandfather's body, and my grandmother was already sobbing beside it. I gazed at my grandfather's face, which had lost some wrinkles and signs of age, but his tightly closed eyes would never open again.
The farewell ceremony ended, and my mother asked my cousin to take me back to school. But I didn't have the heart to go back to school now, my heart was filled with sadness.
In the end, I was still sent back to school. Over the next few days, I lost interest in everything, and I would come home every day and stare blankly, shedding tears.
I asked for leave to go to my grandfather's house for the seventh day of mourning. On this day, we will take my grandfather's ashes from home and accompany them to the cemetery for burial.
Perhaps this is also the reason for the funeral banquet. Many relatives and friends have come to our house, and with their comfort and help, I have gradually dispelled the sadness and depression in my heart.
A month later, everything returned to its original state, and after my grandfather's passing, I began to study even harder.
The spring sunshine brings a hint of warmth, and the bell rings as school finally ends at noon.
After finishing lunch, I also plan to take a lunch break for a while. I lay down and soon entered dreamland.
I watched myself lying on the bed and reached out to touch, but my hand was held by another hand. I turned my head and saw that it was my deceased grandfather.
I want to speak, but I find that I can't make a sound.
I start to look around and realize that I am lying still and peaceful in bed.
Just as I was curious, suddenly there was a bright light in front of me, and then I arrived at an open space. Many blurry figures were queuing up to enter a doorway in the open space.
I, as if receiving some kind of instruction, followed closely behind them. I tried hard to see what the people around me looked like, but no matter how hard I concentrated, I couldn't see their faces clearly.
Finally, it's my turn. I looked at the door shining with white light in front of me, and a hint of curiosity arose in my heart. I took a slow step and walked inside.
Everything was white in front of me. As my vision adjusted, I saw that there were two strong water buffalo tied at the door. Their eyes were bloodshot, and steam continuously came out of their noses. The most bizarre thing was that their feeding trough contained red chili peppers.
Looking at the terrifying scene in front of me, I also quickened my pace and walked inside.
As I went deeper inside, the people around me gradually decreased, until I walked into an arena.
The arena is shaped like an ancient Roman colosseum, and I am standing next to the spectator stands. Inside, there are two water buffalo walking back and forth.
Suddenly, a strange thing happens. The two water buffalo suddenly look at me, their eyes glowing red and smoke coming out of their nostrils.
"Moo!"
Two cows bellowed and charged towards me, catching me off guard. After a brief moment of shock, I started to run away.
The two buffalo are getting closer and closer to me, and I ended up at a brick house while chasing them.
Just as the buffalo was about to reach me, my body suddenly became extremely light, and with a light leap, I landed on the roof.
However, when I thought I was safe, the surrounding scenery began to change. The once bright daylight suddenly became gloomy, as if it were the underworld, and everything around me started to turn into a dim, dark green color.
The house beneath my feet also began to collapse, and I could only keep moving forward.
Just when I didn't know what to do, my body began to uncontrollably fly upwards, and I also looked up to see the unforgettable scene.
A huge bronze-green Dharma statue covered the sky, standing in mid-air. The Dharma statue resembled a Bodhisattva, with hands clasped in front of the abdomen, sitting cross-legged on a dark green lotus.
"Stop!"
Suddenly, a shout came from behind me, and a pair of large hands grabbed me as I was about to take off.
I turned my head and saw three people emitting golden light standing still beside me. They were communicating with me in a language I couldn't understand using their Dharma bodies.
After the communication, the three turned to look at me, and then a huge force pulled me into the Dharma body.
"Ah! Hoo hoo hoo..."
I woke up from a dream, feeling a sensation like an electric shock spreading throughout my body. It was clearly a sunny noon, but I was covered in cold sweat.
My mother kept knocking on the door and calling me to get up for school, and I felt like it might just be a dream. I got up, washed my face with cold water, and then went to school.
On the way, I kept thinking about everything that had just happened. It felt so real, but it didn't fit with reality.
Just as I was sitting in the car lost in thought, a series of urgent braking sounds brought me back to reality.
In front of the intersection, a schoolgirl in uniform was sent flying into the air after being hit. The vehicles around were all shocked by the scene and slowed down to a stop.
The girl fell to the middle of the intersection, blood continuously pouring from her body. I stared blankly at the scene before me.
Finally, the car started, and we drove past the spot where the girl had fallen, but after seeing her face, a cold breath rushed into my body.
As we gradually moved away, the sound of an ambulance came from behind.
After arriving at the school, the teachers were all called to a meeting, while the students were discussing the girl who was hit today.
What surprised me was that the girl and I were in the same grade, and we even attended the same middle school, but when I saw her, she didn't look familiar at all.
As night quietly approached, during the break of the evening self-study, my desk mate pulled me aside and said:
"Do you remember a year ago when we scared people upstairs?"
I nodded, while my companion looked terrified.
"The girl who was sitting on the hallway chair is the one who died today!"
