Siren's food intake has been increasing lately, and with it, his physique is changing, especially tonight. He has shown remarkable growth; the brilliance of his lower body is gradually dimming, as if a grand symphony is fading to its conclusion. His tail is slowly transforming into a light blue membrane, nurturing the legs that will soon emerge. From the outside, one can see the muscular definition of his legs through the membrane.
Siren's face is now sharply defined, shedding its youthful softness and presenting a striking sharpness. Everything signals that this transformation from boyhood to adulthood, known as Miracle, is nearing its end.
Every Sunday afternoon, someone comes to replenish food and other necessities at the villa. However, it is clear that Siren would not be hungry in the morning. So, in the early hours, Gu Yan went to the kitchen on the first floor to prepare some bones.
Siren was alone in the bathroom, where a blood-stained white rose rested on the left sink—a rose that Gu Yan had given him yesterday evening, now quietly placed in a slender glass vase filled with clear water.
Bored in the bathtub, Siren idly examined the surrounding decorations. Perhaps the transformation of his tail was too exhausting; he had not been feeling well lately and often lounged lazily in the tub without wanting to move, yet there was an added sense of languid beauty about him.
His keen hearing allowed him to effortlessly pick up sounds from downstairs, especially when he focused intently. He heard Gu Yan's footsteps in the kitchen area, followed by the sound of the freezer door opening. The clattering noises were sporadic; a knife slid across the cutting board with a rhythmic sound that filled the air with a sense of domesticity.
The sounds briefly ceased as if Gu Yan paused to think about something, but soon resumed again. Suddenly, there was a loud clatter from downstairs—something heavy and metallic hitting the floor, likely a knife falling. Siren's ears perked up; he sensed something was amiss.
After a while, footsteps ascended the stairs. Gu Yan appeared with beads of cold sweat on his forehead, clearly due to excessive pain. Siren caught a whiff of rust from Gu Yan, which wasn't animal blood but rather indicated that he had injured himself while chopping.
Siren stared intently at the deep wound on Gu Yan's left hand. A hint of irritation crossed his mind as he seemed to silently blame Gu Yan for being so careless.
Gu Yan, unable to speak, tried to pull back his hand to find the first aid kit by the bathroom sink, but Siren tightly grasped his hand, leaving Gu Yan looking puzzled.
Under Gu Yan's gaze, Siren complexly extended his tongue and began licking at Gu Yan's bleeding wound. The blood stained Siren's lips with a layer of crimson, contrasting sharply with his pale face and sharp teeth that had grown for tearing prey—he resembled a mysterious vampire.
As Siren licked, Gu Yan's wound healed at an observable rate; the pain significantly diminished. When Siren playfully licked his fingers, Gu Yan felt a slight flush rise to his cheeks, seemingly excited. He watched as the visible scar that had barely revealed bone vanished completely under Siren's treatment—leaving no trace behind as if it had never existed. This was the impressive ability possessed by beings like Siren.
Intrigued, Gu Yan observed Siren in the tub. His gaze shifted to the mirror across from him; in it, they were closely entwined, and Siren looked at him with eyes full of tender affection.
Suddenly, Gu Yan spoke up: "It seems I need to make a call to have the delivery person bring more supplies this afternoon."
The unexpected words shattered the intimate atmosphere. "I certainly don't want to get hurt again."
