Sea Witch Elder 18: Secret Base

In a villa in the countryside, men and women took refuge. They drank and indulged in pleasures, reveling in debauchery. Over the course of ten days, each of the ten shared an absurd and lascivious story daily, mocking darkness and decay, sharply piercing through the filthy blood flowing beneath the so-called noble exteriors. This is "The Decameron." 0

Ten is a marvelous number, representing elevation, transformation, and a complete outcome, akin to harvesting a finished product. It has been exactly ten days since outsiders last visited the villa. It was also on that evening ten days ago that Gu Yan brought Siren back. 0

Siren heard Gu Yan leaving the bedroom while making a phone call: "Hello, please bring more meat when you come to the seaside villa this afternoon. Yes, we’ve eaten everything that was here. Also, there’s some..." His conversation with the delivery person on the other end gradually faded. Siren lost interest in their exchange; perhaps more accurately, he was uninterested in anyone other than Gu Yan. 0

Siren slowly submerged his upper body into the water. Once his head entered the water, his eyes turned dull gray, resembling decaying elements. His hair spread out in the water as he opened his mouth in an expectant smile. He then gently closed his eyes. 0

On the first floor in the living room, Gu Yan hung up the phone. Habitually, he touched the fish tail ring on his thumb, seemingly lost in thought. The spacious living room was very quiet; only he sat on the sofa, brewing a scheme whose outcome remained unknown. 0

Just past two in the afternoon, the sky darkened ominously, hinting at another storm while still clinging to remnants of sunshine. Someone knocked on the door of the seaside villa. 0

Gu Yan conversed calmly with the visitor. Dressed in a suit, he politely thanked the staff delivering supplies and guided them to place the requested items in designated spots. The visitor was somewhat surprised by such a large quantity of meat products and remarked, "Mr. Gu Yan, these meat products are of excellent quality; after long-term freezing, their taste may significantly diminish. Why order so much at once? We can deliver again in ten days." 0

Gu Yan merely smiled without responding. 0

Before several delivery personnel left, they left a cardboard box in the living room. "This is what you instructed us to retrieve." 0

"Thank you for your trouble." 0

The visitors then departed from the villa, restoring silence to the vast house. 0

Without warning, a loud thunderclap echoed as the sky turned pitch dark, followed immediately by heavy rain. The downpour erased all traces from the beach—both footprints from arrival and conversations from departure—completely wiped away. 0

The marks of these outsiders quickly vanished without a trace, returning the house to a secret base exclusive to Gu Yan and Siren. 0

Siren sensed the presence of strangers entering the villa and then felt their departure. He knew they had brought something with them. Based on sounds alone, he mentally sketched out Gu Yan's activities downstairs. 0

He saw Gu Yan rise from the soft sofa; perhaps the indentation left by him was slowly rising back up. He saw Gu Yan approach the box and open its tape; he heard the sound of transparent tape separating from paper. He saw Gu Yan take something out of the box that jingled softly. He saw Gu Yan ascend the stairs to the second-floor bedroom. He saw Gu Yan open those two reinforced bedroom doors. 0

Finally, he truly saw Gu Yan's figure as he entered the bedroom. 0

At that moment when the dark wooden door gradually closed and locked behind him, Gu Yan's expression dimmed slightly. 0

Siren observed his face adorned with a gentle smile. 0
