"Dear Customer Miss, please wait." The shopkeeper's face was filled with distress as the pig ear blocked Yezhi's path.
"What is it?" Yezhi replied with a bad tone; she was busy escaping, so what did it mean to block her?
From the laser birdcage behind came the whimpering sounds of Little Black Dog, along with the thuds of its body repeatedly hitting the cage. Yezhi regretted her actions; why did she glare at it and provoke its frenzy?
Xiao Fang turned its square head, glancing between its owner and the now-calm Little Black Dog that had stopped going wild because of Yezhi. Then it smiled brightly and said, "Owner, Cilou Dog likes you and has chosen you as its master."
Yezhi covered her mouth in shock, "No way!" Could it really be just because of a glance?
The shopkeeper's pig ear spewed flames, and his distressed face turned darker than the bottom of a pot. "It's sweet and cool; it's really tasty," Yezhi widened her eyes as she saw Zhou Yidan squeeze out a lump of white toothpaste and shove it into her mouth.
Yezhi quickly cleaned her mouth full of foam and said, "One Egg, you can't eat this; didn't you see Sister Ye spit it out?"
One Gun Brother hit One Egg's head hard: "You silly egg, this is toothpaste; city folks use it to brush their teeth."
Zhou Yidan looked distressed: "What should I do since I ate it?"
"You'll have a stomach ache!" Zhou Yidan got scared and nervously held her stomach after hearing Yezhi's answer.
Yezhi laughed heartily and walked over to Zhou Yidan saying: "Sister Ye is joking; you won't have a stomach ache. But really, toothpaste cannot be eaten."
"Why not?" Zhou Yidan asked confusedly. Yezhi remembered eating toothpaste when she was little too; back then she couldn't understand why something that tasted sweet couldn't be eaten.
"You can't eat it; just can't eat it. Why so many questions?" One Gun Brother hit Zhou Yidan's head again.
The three of them and a dog—hunting dog Heizi dashed ahead while One Gun Brother with his hunting rifle walked behind. Yezhi was in the middle with One Egg pouting at the back. They went around a small river and over a hill covered in yellow stones before reaching the path up the mountain. It was Yezhi's first time walking this way; there were waist-high weeds everywhere except for the path she walked on which had been trampled down by frequent foot traffic.
After climbing the weed-covered hillside, Yezhi stood at the top and looked back at the sea of grass. A gentle breeze blew, causing the green waves to roll.
"Yezhi, do you want to take a break?" One Gun Brother turned around and asked.
Yezhi wiped the sweat from his face and shouted, "No need, One Gun Brother, I'm fine. Besides, One Egg hasn't called for a break yet!" Yezhi thought to himself that persistence is victory; how could he lose to Zhou Yidan, this eleven-year-old kid? With this thought in mind, his steps felt much lighter.
"Master, can Xiao Fang come out?" Xiao Fang asked in a voice as tiny as a mosquito. Yezhi slapped his forehead; how could he forget about Xiao Fang?
Once out, Xiao Fang bounced ahead of Yezhi. "Master, look!" Yezhi looked up and saw a vast field of flowers—yellow, red, pink, purple... Butterflies danced among the flowers while bees buzzed around. Unable to resist, Yezhi picked a large handful of flowers and played with them in his hands.
"Sister Ye!" Zhou Yidan dashed up from behind and handed over a few small, red fruits. Yezhi examined them closely; the bright red color reminded him of the snake fruits his friends called when he was young. Where there are snake fruits, snakes are often found. Most importantly, these fruits were said to be touched by snakes. Just thinking about it made Yezhi unable to put them in his mouth; he stuffed them all back into Zhou Yidan's hands.
"Eat more! Sister Ye is afraid of sourness," One Egg said as he stuffed all the fruits into his mouth when he saw Yezhi not eating.
After passing through the flower field, they finally entered the forest. The fresh scent of trees mixed with the dampness of the soil filled the air, accompanied by various crisp and pleasant bird calls that brought life to the dense woods.
As they reached a sparse area of trees, they heard Heizi barking loudly, "Woof! Woof! Woof!" One Gun Brother ran ahead while Yezhi and One Egg followed. It turned out there was a hunting trap ahead; the weeds on top had sunk down. One Gun Brother bent down and pulled out a plump Big Gray Rabbit from the trap.
Seeing the rabbit made Yezhi think of its deliciousness. "Master, your saliva is dripping," Xiao Fang teased while mimicking wiping his mouth. Yezhi quickly wiped his mouth with his hand—there was nothing there. At that moment, Xiao Fang burst into laughter, leaving Yezhi feeling frustrated for being teased.
"Our luck is good; we'll roast it for lunch," One Gun Brother said cheerfully before shouting at Zhou Yidan, "You little rascal, go gather some firewood!"
By a large rock, One Gun Brother set up a fire pit with the cleaned rabbit ready for roasting. Zhou Yidan volunteered to pick some mushrooms for soup later. Not wanting to continue drooling over the smell of meat, Yezhi eagerly followed along.
Looking at the colorful mushrooms among the bushes, Yezhi didn't know how to start. Although countless time-travel novels taught how to distinguish mushrooms—poisonous ones are often brightly colored while non-poisonous ones tend to be white, yellow or brown; or that poisonous mushrooms change color when damaged while non-poisonous ones generally do not change color... "One Egg, make sure you identify them correctly; don't pick any poisonous ones," Yezhi decided not to pick any and sat down under a big tree to rest.

The previously invisible Glasses flickered, and the objects in Yezhi's view were enveloped in a faint green light. Yezhi focused on a patch of mushrooms, which then displayed various analytical data. The poisonous mushrooms turned red in her eyes, making it easier for Yezhi to identify them.
Yezhi exclaimed in surprise, "Xiao Fang, I didn't expect you to have this ability. Does that mean I can explore a radius of 100 meters like you?"
"Master, active searching is not possible, but you can receive the visuals from Xiao Fang's exploration."
Yezhi shouted with excitement, "Xiao Fang, quickly search the area below within a hundred meters for any animals. Let's pick something big and have One Gun Brother take care of it later. Also, don't forget to look for anything valuable; your master is carrying a huge debt!"

The invisible Glasses flickered again, and the world returned to normal. Yezhi's heart raced as she spotted a dark black wild boar with a wide and thick body, snorting and blinking its small eyes just behind a Pine Tree not far from One Egg.
One Egg seemed to notice as well; its body stiffened noticeably. Yezhi felt anxious; this was her first encounter with a wild beast. She had heard that solitary boars and wolves were two of the most terrifying beasts in the mountains. She was scared; her legs felt weak and her head spun. She knew she was being useless and cowardly and that One Egg was waiting for her to save it, but...
Xiao Fang scratched its head softly and asked, "Master, what are you afraid of? You have soft armor; this wild boar can only knock you away but can't hurt you."
The wild boar let out a low growl and charged out angrily from behind the Pine Tree towards One Egg. Yezhi shouted, "One Egg, run!" With half-closed eyes, she rushed towards the wild boar's dark massive body.
