" Xiaoxiao, thank you," Chen Shuying said sincerely.
"Chen Shuying, don't mention it. We are all women; it's only right to help each other," Zhang Xiaoxiao replied.
"Mm," Chen Shuying responded, not saying anything more.
Two days later, Chen Shuying knocked on the door of the village chief's house.
"Who is it?" came the village chief's voice from the yard.
"Village chief, it's me," Chen Shuying called out.
"Oh, Chen Shuying, wait a moment," the village chief replied and went to open the door for her.
When the village chief opened the door and saw Chen Shuying, he smiled and asked, "Chen Shuying, what brings you here?"
"Village chief, I... I..." Chen Shuying stammered.
"Chen Shuying, just tell me what you need," the village chief said.
"Village chief, I can't find a place to stay for now. The house I chose will take two or three days to be repaired," Chen Shuying explained.
"I see," the village chief frowned.
"Village chief, I would like to ask for your help," Chen Shuying pleaded.
"Chen Shuying, just say what you need," the village chief encouraged.
"Village chief, I want to find a place to stay temporarily," Chen Shuying said.
"Chen Shuying, that might be a bit difficult," the village chief replied awkwardly.
"Village chief, after the Wang family went to the capital, their vacant house can be used for Chen Shuying to stay in temporarily," Zhang Xiaoxiao suddenly appeared behind Chen Shuying and spoke up.
" Xiaoxiao, what are you doing here?" Chen Shuying asked in surprise.
"Chen Shuying, I'm here to deliver something," Zhang Xiaoxiao said.

"Mm," Chen Shuying responded again without saying more.
"What Xiaoxiao said makes sense. The Wang family's house is empty for now; it would be convenient for Chen Shuying to stay there," the village chief thought for a moment and then said.
"Village chief, thank you!" Chen Shuying exclaimed happily.
"Chen Shuying, you don't need to thank me. If you must thank someone, thank Xiaoxiao instead," the village chief replied.
"Xiaoxiao, thank you so much," Chen Shuying said.
"Chen Shuying, don't mention it. We are friends," Zhang Xiaoxiao replied.
"Mm." Chen Shuying acknowledged, not saying anything further.
"Village Chief, if there's nothing else, we'll be on our way," Zhang Xiaoxiao said.
"Mm, you all go ahead," the Village Chief responded.
After leaving the Village Chief's house, Zhang Xiaoxiao turned to Chen Shuying and said, "Chen Shuying, I have some spare bedding at home. I'll bring it over for you later."
"Xiaoxiao, thank you," Chen Shuying expressed her gratitude.
"Chen Shuying, don't be polite. Since we are friends, we should help each other," Zhang Xiaoxiao said.
"Mm." Chen Shuying acknowledged again, not saying anything more.
"Chen Shuying, you head back first. I'm going home now," Zhang Xiaoxiao said.
"Xiaoxiao, you go ahead. I'll leave first," Chen Shuying replied.
"Mm." Zhang Xiaoxiao acknowledged and turned to head home.
Chen Shuying watched Zhang Xiaoxiao's retreating figure with a sense of envy. She wished she could be as independent and strong as Zhang Xiaoxiao.
With a sigh, Chen Shuying took Xiao Liang's hand and headed home.
"Mom, are we going to live here from now on?" Xiao Liang asked.
"Mm." Chen Shuying acknowledged without saying more.
"Mom, does that mean I can be neighbors with Sister Xiaoxiao?" Xiao Liang asked excitedly.
"It should be," Chen Shuying replied uncertainly.
"Oh yeah, that's great! I can go play with Sister Xiaoxiao often!" Xiao Liang exclaimed happily.
"Mm." Chen Shuying acknowledged again without further comment.
After bringing Xiao Liang back to their temporary residence, Chen Shuying began to tidy up their things.
"Mom, are we really going to live here?" Xiao Liang asked again.
"Mm." Chen Shuying acknowledged without saying more.
"Mom, I like it here. I like being neighbors with Sister Xiaoxiao," Xiao Liang said cheerfully.
"Mm." Chen Shuying acknowledged once more without further comment.
"Mom, can I go to Sister Xiaoxiao's house to play now?" Xiao Liang asked.
"Xiao Liang, be good, let's finish packing before we go," Chen Shuying said.
"Okay," Xiao Liang replied, not saying anything more.
After Chen Shuying and Xiao Liang finished packing, they locked the door and went out.
Chen Shuying brought Xiao Liang to Zhang Xiaoxiao's house and knocked on the door.
"Who is it?" came Zhang Xiaoxiao's voice from the yard.
"Xiaoxiao, it's me," Chen Shuying called out.
"Chen Shuying, wait a moment, I'll open the door for you," Zhang Xiaoxiao said.
"Okay," Chen Shuying replied, not saying anything more.
Zhang Xiaoxiao quickly opened the door.
"Chen Shuying, come in," Zhang Xiaoxiao said.
"Okay," Chen Shuying replied and led Xiao Liang inside.
"Chen Shuying, have you packed your things?" Zhang Xiaoxiao asked.
"Yes, everything is packed," Chen Shuying said.
"Chen Shuying, you can stay here comfortably for the next few days," Zhang Xiaoxiao said.
"Xiaoxiao, thank you," Chen Shuying expressed her gratitude.
"Chen Shuying, don't mention it; since we are friends, we should help each other," Zhang Xiaoxiao said.
"Okay," Chen Shuying replied, not saying anything more.
"Chen Shuying, if you need any help, feel free to come to me," Zhang Xiaoxiao said.
"Xiaoxiao, I will," Chen Shuying said.

"Sister Xiaoxiao, can I come to play with you often in the future?" Xiao Liang asked.
"Of course you can," Zhang Xiaoxiao said.
