"Granny Wang, you wicked old woman, may you suffer a terrible fate," Chen Shuying cursed as she walked.
"Sister Chen, don't worry, Xiao Liang will be fine," a villager who was familiar with the situation comforted her.
"Mm," Chen Shuying replied, still feeling anxious inside.
She followed the villager to the Wang family home and as soon as she entered, she saw Granny Wang holding Xiao Liang.
"Xiao Liang, my grandson, you finally came back," Granny Wang cried out.
"Wah wah wah, I want my mommy," Xiao Liang sobbed.
"Grandma misses you too. Why don't you come back and see what happened to Grandma?" Granny Wang said tearfully.
"Wah wah wah, I want my mommy," Xiao Liang continued to cry out.
"You old hag, let go of my son," Chen Shuying rushed over, trying to snatch Xiao Liang away.
"You shameless woman, how dare you insult my mother," Wang Changgui shouted angrily.
"You filthy dog, how dare you hit my son," Chen Shuying yelled back.
"You..." Wang Changgui was about to retort but was interrupted by Granny Wang.
" Changgui, don't argue with her; she's just a shrew," Granny Wang said.
"You are the shrew; your whole family is a bunch of shrews," Chen Shuying shouted in anger.
"You shameless woman, how dare you curse our whole family," Wang Changgui fumed.
"Everyone shut up," Chen Shuying yelled loudly.
At her shout, everyone fell silent.
"Xiao Liang, come here and go home with Mommy," Chen Shuying said to Xiao Liang.
"Mm," Xiao Liang responded and reached out his hands toward Chen Shuying.
Just as Chen Shuying was about to reach out to him, Granny Wang pulled her away.
"No way, Xiao Liang cannot go with you," Granny Wang said firmly.
"That's right; Xiao Liang is our grandson from the Wang family. You can't take him away."
"You... you are being unreasonable," Chen Shuying said angrily.
"Hmph, we are being unreasonable. What can you do about it?" Wang Changgui said smugly.
"You... I'm going to fight you!" Chen Shuying said as she prepared to confront Wang Changgui.
Seeing this, Granny Wang quickly stepped in to mediate.
In an instant, the courtyard was in chaos.
In the large courtyard, everyone paused with their chopsticks when they saw Chen Shuying leave.
" Xiaoxiao, what happened?" an Aunt asked.
"Sister Chen's child was taken by the Wang family," Zhang Xiaoxiao replied.
"What? They are going too far," the Aunt said angrily.
"Exactly, they just got divorced yesterday, and today they sneakily take the child away. How shameless," an Uncle chimed in.
"Let's go support Sister Chen," one Aunt suggested.
"Yes, we can't let Sister Chen be bullied," another Aunt agreed.
"Let's go help," an older brother said.
"Okay." Everyone responded and hurriedly left.
After they left, only Zhang Xiaoxiao remained in the courtyard.
"Hey, why did everyone leave?" Zhao Guangcai came out from the the Chen Family and saw the empty courtyard, so he asked.
"Sister Chen's child was taken by the Wang family, and the fellow villagers went to help," Zhang Xiaoxiao explained.
"What? They are going too far," Zhao Guangcai said angrily.
"Yes, Sister Chen is really pitiful," Zhang Xiaoxiao said sadly.
"Wife, don't be sad; we will help her," Zhao Guangcai comforted her.
"Okay." Zhang Xiaoxiao replied softly.
"What about this food?" Zhao Guangcai asked, looking at the dishes on the table.
"If we take it down now, it will be cold by the time they come back," Zhang Xiaoxiao said.
"What should we do?" Zhao Guangcai frowned.
"I have an idea." Zhang Xiaoxiao suddenly thought of a solution.
"What idea?" Zhao Guangcai asked curiously.
"We can use a steamer to keep it warm, so when they come back, the food will still be hot," Zhang Xiaoxiao suggested.
"Right! How did I not think of that?" Zhao Guangcai realized suddenly.
"Hehe, it's because you're silly," Zhang Xiaoxiao said with a grin.
"Oh really? You dare to call me silly," Zhao Guangcai pretended to be angry.
"Aren't you silly?" Zhang Xiaoxiao retorted.
"I'm not silly," Zhao Guangcai denied.
"Hehe, you're not silly, you're smart," Zhang Xiaoxiao replied dismissively.
"That's more like it," Zhao Guangcai said, satisfied.
"Alright, hurry up and get the Steamer," Zhang Xiaoxiao urged.
"Okay," Zhao Guangcai responded and then went to the kitchen to get the Steamer.
He cleaned the Steamer thoroughly and placed it on the table.
"Wife, you hold the bowl, and I'll serve the rice," Zhao Guangcai said.
"Okay," Zhang Xiaoxiao replied, holding the bowl and standing aside.
Zhao Guangcai scooped rice into the bowl, and Zhang Xiaoxiao placed it into the Steamer.
The two worked together seamlessly and soon had all the rice in the Steamer.
"Finally done," Zhang Xiaoxiao said contentedly as she looked at the food in the Steamer.
"Mm," Zhao Guangcai replied.
"Brother Zhao, you go rest; I'll take care of this," Zhang Xiaoxiao said.
"I'm fine; I'll wait with you," Zhao Guangcai replied.
"Alright then," Zhang Xiaoxiao said.
The two waited in the yard for over an hour until they finally saw the Fellow Villagers return.
As soon as they arrived, they began to complain about the Wang family.
"They've gone too far; they actually took the children away secretly," one Aunt said angrily.
"Exactly! They claimed they just wanted to see the kids—who would believe that?" another Aunt chimed in.
"They did it on purpose," an older brother said.
"Sister Chen is really unfortunate," one Aunt sighed.
