At the dining table, the villagers chatted and ate, creating a lively atmosphere. 0

"Chen Shuying, Xiao Liang must be of school age now, right?" 0

"Yes, he is nine years old this year," Chen Shuying nodded. 0

"Then you should hurry and send him to school." 0

"Yes, I think so too," Chen Shuying replied. 0

"Children as big as Xiao Liang in the village are already going to school." 0

"That's right, my second child is already in the third grade." 0

"Chen Shuying, where do you plan to send Xiao Liang to school?" 0

"I haven't decided yet; I plan to discuss it after the New Year," Chen Shuying responded. 0

"It would be great if he could go to school in town." 0

"But the town is far away." 0

"True." 0

The villagers discussed Xiao Liang's schooling while Zhang Xiaoxiao quietly listened without interjecting. 0

"Zhang Xiaoxiao, do you think Xiao Liang can go to school?" Chen Shuying suddenly asked Zhang Xiaoxiao. 0

"Sister Chen, whether Xiao Liang can go to school depends on his own willingness," Zhang Xiaoxiao smiled. 0

"Yes, that makes sense," Chen Shuying nodded. 0

"However, if Xiao Liang enjoys studying, I can teach him," Zhang Xiaoxiao added. 0

"Really?" Chen Shuying said excitedly. 0

"Yes," Zhang Xiaoxiao nodded. 0

"That's wonderful! Thank you, Zhang Xiaoxiao," Chen Shuying expressed her gratitude. 0

"You're welcome, Sister Chen," Zhang Xiaoxiao smiled. 0

"Zhang Xiaoxiao, how many books have you read?" Chen Shuying asked curiously. 0

"I graduated from university last year," Zhang Xiaoxiao casually replied. 0

"What?" Chen Shuying exclaimed in shock. 0

"What happened?" Zhang Xiaoxiao asked in confusion. 0

"Are you really a college student?" Chen Shuying said in disbelief. 0
"Yes," Zhang Xiaoxiao nodded. 0
"Then our village has two college students now," Chen Shuying said excitedly. 0
"Who is the other one?" Zhang Xiaoxiao asked curiously. 0
"It’s..." Chen Shuying suddenly stopped. 0
"Who is it?" Zhang Xiaoxiao pressed on. 0
"It’s..." Chen Shuying hesitated. 0
"Sister Chen, if it's inconvenient for you to say, that's fine," Zhang Xiaoxiao understood. 0
"It's not that it's inconvenient; I just don't know how to tell you," Chen Shuying said, feeling conflicted. 0
"Then just tell me when you've figured it out," Zhang Xiaoxiao said kindly. 0
"Okay," Chen Shuying replied gratefully. 0
"Sister Chen, you should eat quickly; the food is getting cold," Zhang Xiaoxiao reminded her. 0
"Alright, you eat too," Chen Shuying said, putting aside her thoughts and starting her meal. 0

After dinner, Zhang Xiaoxiao returned to her home. 0
Not long after Zhang Xiaoxiao entered the house, Zhao Guangcai came back from town. 0
"Xiaoxiao, look what I bought for you," Zhao Guangcai said mysteriously. 0
"What is it?" Zhang Xiaoxiao asked playfully. 0
"Here," Zhao Guangcai handed what he was holding to Zhang Xiaoxiao. 0
"Paper and pens?" Zhang Xiaoxiao exclaimed in surprise. 0
"Yes, and a few novels," Zhao Guangcai smiled. 0
"Guangcai, these must have cost quite a bit, right?" Zhang Xiaoxiao asked. 0
"I didn't spend much; a new friend sold them to me at a low price," Zhao Guangcai said happily. 0
"A new friend?" Zhang Xiaoxiao asked in astonishment. 0
"Yes, he just moved to town and opened a bookstore," Zhao Guangcai explained. 0
"Oh, I see," Zhang Xiaoxiao understood. 0
"Xiaoxiao, aren't you happy?" Zhao Guangcai asked with concern. 0
"No, I'm very happy," Zhang Xiaoxiao quickly replied. 0

"Then why did you look a bit unhappy just now?" Zhao Guangcai asked in confusion. 0
"I was just thinking, since you've made a new friend, maybe you won't need me anymore," Zhang Xiaoxiao said half-jokingly. 0
"How could that be? You are my Wife," Zhao Guangcai replied seriously. 0
"Haha, I was just joking," Zhang Xiaoxiao said with a smile. 0
"That's good to hear," Zhao Guangcai sighed in relief. 0
"Guangcai, is this friend of yours a man or a woman?" Zhang Xiaoxiao asked curiously. 0
"He's a man," Zhao Guangcai answered. 0
"Did he just come to town?" Zhang Xiaoxiao inquired. 0
"Yeah, he said he has no relatives here, so he wants to make some friends," Zhao Guangcai explained. 0
"Then why did he come here to live?" Zhang Xiaoxiao asked in confusion. 0
"He said he likes the small-town life; it's quiet and suitable for retirement," Zhao Guangcai repeated. 0
"Retirement?" Zhang Xiaoxiao exclaimed in shock. 0
"Yeah, that's what he said," Zhao Guangcai nodded. 0
"Then he must be quite old, right?" Zhang Xiaoxiao guessed. 0
"Yeah, he's in his forties," Zhao Guangcai said. 0
"Oh," Zhang Xiaoxiao responded. 0
"Xiaoxiao, what do you think of this person?" Zhao Guangcai suddenly asked. 0
"I just met him, so I don't know much about him yet," Zhang Xiaoxiao replied honestly. 0
"What impression do you have of him?" Zhao Guangcai pressed on. 0
"I feel he's quite nice; he's polite and straightforward," Zhao Guangcai evaluated. 0
"That's good," Zhang Xiaoxiao said with relief. 0
"Guangcai, you need to be careful in the future and not get deceived by anyone," Zhang Xiaoxiao reminded him. 0
"I know; I'm not foolish," Zhao Guangcai replied with a hearty laugh. 0
