Gu Yi didn't idle away his time in college. In his third year, he applied for exchange programs at both Beihu University and the University of Cambridge. After returning to campus in his fourth year, he was able to secure a recommendation for postgraduate studies at Beihu University due to his outstanding performance. Gu Yi is currently in his first year of graduate school. Even though he went abroad, he didn't remain idle. He would send messages to Wen Wan almost every day, mostly with greetings. Occasionally, he would also send some of the scenery he saw in England, but Wen Wan mostly wouldn't reply.
Except for one time when Gu Yi was in the lab doing research with his advisor, and as a result, he didn't message Wen Wan for several days. Perhaps because she wasn't used to it, Wen Wan checked their chat history and realized that Gu Yi hadn't messaged her in a long time. So, she took the initiative to greet him, but still didn't get a response. At that point, she called him, only to hear the voice of Gu Yi on the other end. He explained that he had been busy with research for the past few days and couldn't bring his phone into the lab. This put Wen Wan at ease. Although Gu Yi had occasionally appeared in front of Wen Wan during the first two years at school, he was always rejected for various reasons. It wasn't until Gu Yi went to England that Wen Wan realized she seemed to have gotten used to Gu Yi's "harassment."
Since that disappearance, Gu Yi has been messaging Wen Wan as usual, but this time, Wen Wan actually replied. Gu Yi couldn't believe it and sent a scenic photo, to which Wen Wan replied, "Not bad." These three words fascinated Gu Yi. Perhaps Wen Wan has truly moved on, or perhaps Gu Yi felt he shouldn't have treated Wen Wan that way. In any case, Wen Wan has found a new life, while Gu Yi has become more determined in his own direction.
On the day Wen Wan went to England, both Yan Cheng and Gu Yi came to see her off. "Wen Wan, you have to message me often after you go to England. Don't forget about me, okay?" Yan Cheng cried as he hugged Wen Wan. Wen Wan laughed and said, "I'm going to study, not disappear forever. Why are you being so sentimental? Okay, I have to board now. Goodbye." Gu Yi looked at Wen Wan and said, "When you come back, I have something to tell you. Take care."
Several hours later, Wen Wan also arrived in the UK from China. Upon arrival, Wen Wan and the school teachers boarded the bus that came to pick them up. Due to the time difference, the bus took them directly to the dormitory. It wasn't until the third morning that the sightseeing began. Along the way, Wen Wan saw many beautiful sceneries of Cambridge University, but the most impressive were the university buildings. Wen Wan gazed at the buildings as if being immersed in them. Subsequently, the teachers guided them through many scenic spots of Cambridge University, and Wen Wan was deeply immersed. After the visit, they had a simple meal and returned to their respective dormitories.
After a tiring day, everyone went to bed early. The morning sun shone on Wen Wan's face, marking the beginning of a day of classes. Wen Wan found that the courses in the UK were more lively compared to those in China, focusing not only on imparting textbook knowledge but also on practicality. This sparked Wen Wan's strong interest and led to a good rapport with their mentor.
Time flies, and in the blink of an eye, a year has passed. However, just when it was time to return to the country, the advisor found Wen Wan and wanted Wen Wan to continue the exchange for another year. Wen Wan cherished this opportunity, but did not immediately respond to the advisor. Instead, after discussing with teacher Yu Yi, Wen Wan agreed to continue the exchange for another year.
