City A Xu Yi's home
Xu Yi is sitting on the bed, having a video call with Jian Chen, " Jian Chen, I'm going to participate in the Sports meeting."
Jian Chen looks surprised and concerned as he looks at Xu Yi, "You're going to participate in the Sports meeting? But what about your health..."
Xu Yi said quietly, "It's okay, I'm fine now."
Jian Chen smiled and asked, "Do you still have the Sports meeting in your senior year?"
Xu Yi laughed and replied, "I was surprised too. Maybe the school thought our studying was a bit dull, so they arranged some entertainment for us."
Jian Chen listened to Xu Yi's words and a mischievous glint appeared in his eyes. "Then you must give it your all and strive to bring back a gold medal!"
Xu Yi laughed in response, "I'll pass on the gold medal, as long as I can participate actively without regrets, that's good enough."
Suddenly, Jian Chen remembered that he hadn't asked Xu Yi which event he had signed up for. "By the way, what event did you register for?"
Xu Yi listened and smiled. She wanted to tell Jian Chen, but also wanted to tease him, "Can you guess?"
Jian Chen thought for a moment and said, "You're good at running, so you must have signed up for the 100 meters or 200 meters, right?"
Xu Yi shook her head, "No, guess again."
Jian Chen rubbed his chin. "It can't be the 800 meters, can it?"
Xu Yi shook his head. "Haha, not even close."
Jian Chen looked puzzled. "Then what event is it?"
Xu Yi smiled mysteriously, "I signed up for the relay race and long jump."
Jian Chen looked surprised, "The relay race? Are you really going to participate in the relay race?"
Xu Yi nodded, "Yes, I've always liked team events. And working together with classmates feels great."
Jian Chen nodded, "Alright, then you take care and good luck, but be sure to stay safe."
Xu Yi smiled, "Got it, rest up, it's getting late."
Jian Chen nodded, "Okay, goodnight."
After ending the video call, Xu Yi began preparing the items for the sports meeting. She opened the wardrobe and took out the necessary sportswear and shoes, placing them aside. Then, she checked the water bottle, towel, and some snacks she needed to bring. Based on her previous experience with sports meetings, staying hydrated and energized was very important.
After organizing the items, Xu Yi returned to bed. She lay down, recalling her conversation with Jian Chen, feeling warm inside. Even though they were not in the same city, they often stayed in touch through video calls.
Xu Yi closed her eyes and began to rest. She knew that tomorrow would be a busy day, and she needed to ensure she had enough energy for the sports meeting. Before falling asleep, she silently prayed for everything to go smoothly.
The next morning, Xu Yi got up early. She prepared her breakfast, ate some fruits and bread, and drank some milk. Then she put on her sportswear, grabbed her backpack, and headed to school. When Xu Yi arrived at the school, she saw Bai Jinxi and other classmates had already arrived early. Everyone was very excited, waiting for the start of the sports meeting. "Xu Yi, come over and warm up," Bai Jinxi shouted.
Xu Yi looked in the direction of Bai Jinxi and smiled, saying, "Here he comes."
Xu Yi and his classmates did their final warm-up exercises together, then waited for the start of the competition. The Sports meeting officially began, and as the whistle blew, the whole playground became lively.
Xu Yi participated in two events, including long jump and relay race.
