City A Xu Yi's home
Xu Yi returned home, walked through the door, and saw his mother and father sitting on the sofa reading newspapers. He softly said, "Mom, Dad, I'm back."
His mother looked up at him and smiled, saying, "You're back, wash your hands and get ready for supper."
At the dinner table, Xu Yi talked to her parents about the Sports meeting, excitedly describing the competition and the moment of victory for her class, expressing how thrilled she felt. Her parents listened, interjecting with comments and marveling at her growth. After dinner, Xu Yi went back to her room, opened her computer, and started organizing some photos from the Sports meeting. She opened a chat window with Jian Chen and sent a photo of the gold medal, along with a line of text: "Look, this is the gold medal I won at the Sports meeting!" The shining gold medal in the photo reflected Xu Yi's excited face. Jian Chen quickly replied, "You really brought back the gold medal!" Jian Chen could hardly believe it. He immediately made a video call. As the video call connected, Jian Chen's surprised face appeared on the screen. "Xu Yi, you really got the gold medal!" he exclaimed excitedly, as if he had won the gold medal himself.
Xu Yi nodded with a smile, her cheeks filled with pride and joy. "Yes, it's two of them," she said, taking out the gold medal. "Here it is, take a look!" She raised the gold medal in her hand and waved it in front of the camera.
Jian Chen carefully looked at the gold medal on the screen, as if he could feel the weight and warmth of the gold medal. "You're the best!" he exclaimed.
Xu Yi looked at Jian Chen and said proudly, "Yes, I am."
Jian Chen looked at Xu Yi with a happy expression, but suddenly became worried. "By the way, you didn't get injured during the competition, did you?" Xu Yi smiled and shook his head, replying, "No, I'm fine. I've fully recovered from the previous illness, so don't worry."
Jian Chen breathed a sigh of relief, then remembered something else. "Remember, next time during a video, don't sleep with me again. You might get sick."
After hearing this, Xu Yi blinked mischievously and said, "Okay, okay, I got it. You're more nagging than my mom."
Jian Chen gave her a stern look and said, "Yes, I am being naggy. It's because you don't listen. If you get sick again, I'll have to worry about you."
Xu Yi looked at Jian Chen with a nervous yet caring expression, feeling sweet inside. "Ah-Chen," Xu Yi suddenly looked at Jian Chen seriously and said, "Thank you."
Jian Chen paused for a moment after hearing Xu Yi's words. "You! What did you call me? Say it again!"
Xu Yi looked at Jian Chen's sudden excitement and couldn't help but laugh softly. She gazed into Jian Chen's eyes again and said gently, "Ah-Chen, thank you."
Jian Chen's heart raced like thunder, and he couldn't believe his ears. He looked into Xu Yi's eyes and mischievously said, "Xiao Yi, say it again."
Xu Yi looked at Jian Chen's mischievous expression and said, "Alright, calm down a bit."
Jian Chen patted his face, "Alright, alright, let's get to the point. What were you thanking me for just now?"
Xu Yi suddenly blushed, "Um, I was just thanking you for caring about me."
Jian Chen was instantly amused by Xu Yi's response, realizing that Xu Yi was so easily embarrassed. He took a deep breath, trying not to laugh, "I'm your boyfriend, of course I should care about you."
Xu Yi listened to Jian Chen's words, feeling even more shy. She lowered her head, looked at her own toes, and said softly, "Jian Chen, I..."
Jian Chen looked at Xu Yi's shy appearance and gently said, "What's wrong? Do you want to say something?"
Xu Yi lifted her head, looked into Jian Chen's eyes, took a deep breath, and then said, "Jian Chen, I like you." Then she ended the video call.
Jian Chen's heart was pounding like thunder, his eyes widened as he focused on the phone screen, as if that sentence, that voice, was still lingering in his ears, clear as day. His face showed a mix of surprise and disbelief, as if struck by an unexpected gift, astonished yet joyful. His heart was filled with deep shock and ecstasy, as if a new window had been opened, revealing an unimaginable scenery.
That night, moonlight filled Jian Chen's room like water. He sat on the edge of the bed, tightly holding his phone, feeling moved and joyful as if a warm current was flowing from the depths of his heart. He looked at the moon outside the window, his thoughts racing. In that moment, he seemed to hear his own heartbeat, so strong, so clear, as if it was a call and anticipation for the future.
That night was especially warm, especially beautiful.
