The waiter looked at Fengyin's height. He estimated that two buckets of water would be enough; otherwise, the little girl might drown. He finished draping a towel over his shoulder and went out.
Fengyin poured the medicinal powder given by her grandfather into the water, and immediately, the room was filled with a pleasant fragrance. Little Fengyin inhaled a few whiffs of the aroma and took off her clothes. She was all dirty, and without the medicinal powder from Yun Zhongzi, even several buckets of water wouldn't be enough to wash her clean. The steam rose, fragrant and inviting. This scent drifted next door, just like the sound from Xiao Sound next door.
"Young Master, your flute playing is really beautiful," Lin Ke said while tidying up the bed. His young master was accustomed to going to bed early and rising early.
"It's beautiful," Fengyin said, rubbing soap on her body with her small hands. She heard the sound of Xiao Sound coming from next door. In that moment, she felt a bit sad; if Mute Mother weren't asleep, she could eat and bathe now.
"Mother." Fengyin soaked in the water, thinking about how Mute Mother held her in her arms; that feeling was so warm.
Fengyin looked at herself; she was already clean and white. She got out of the tub and took a coin from the left pocket of her discarded clothes. It was a coin that Mute Mother had found and given to her. She knew it was worth one yuan, but she had never used it to buy steamed buns. Fengyin carefully placed the coin on the table and began applying medicine to her legs. The medicine felt soothing, and her feet no longer hurt. Following her grandfather's advice, she spread out that set of clothes on the bed. After putting on the clothes, Fengyin held the coin tightly in her palm, looking for something to keep it safe; she absolutely couldn't lose it.
Fengyin discovered that her new clothes had pockets in the sleeves and on the chest. She placed the coin in her chest pocket, checked to make sure it wouldn't fall out easily, then put on her shoes and opened the door.
"It's so cold outside, and your hair is wet while you're running around," Old Zhang said as he finished tidying up and prepared to report to Yun Zhongzi when he saw Fengyin come out. He couldn't help but say something. He turned back into the room to get a towel and dried her long hair. Then he took her hand and knocked on Yun Zhongzi's door.
"Come in."
Yun Zhongzi looked at the old man and the little girl entering the room; their previously disheveled appearances were nowhere to be seen. Old Zhang now looked like a refined storyteller, standing upright.
"Yin Yin, lift your head."
Fengyin hesitated at first but raised her head upon hearing his words. Yun Zhongzi smiled; he hadn't expected that this little beggar he casually took in would turn out to be so pretty. In a few years, she would become an unparalleled beauty. He couldn't help but feel that his judgment was spot on and thought about the name he had given her—Fengyin—such a name suited such a face; it would stir up trouble throughout the realm.
Old Zhang hadn't seen her closely in the dim light of the corridor earlier, but now he was taken aback by how beautiful she was. What kind of parents would abandon such a lovely child? However, it was also possible that it was an act of revenge from enemies. Regardless, Fengyin was indeed a poor child who didn't even know what she looked like; if her biological mother walked past her looking exactly like her, she probably wouldn't notice because she would definitely have her head down, making it hard to see anything at all.
"Old Zhang, is this your granddaughter?" Yun Zhongzi chuckled lightly.
Old Zhang's old face turned red. "Replying to the elder, no, she is not."
Yun Zhongzi looked as if he understood why.
"You all must be tired; you should go to sleep."
"Yes." Old Zhang was about to leave when he saw Fengyin walking towards Yun Zhongzi's bed to tidy up the bedding. Oh dear, even a seven-year-old child is more sensible than him.
Actually, Fengyin had heard from Lin Ke next door while bathing that they needed to prepare the bed for the elder.
Once the bed was made, Fengyin bowed to Yun Zhongzi and left with Old Zhang.
Yun Zhongzi comfortably squinted his eyes; being served felt quite nice after living like a carefree cloud.
It was a magical day for her—her first meal, her first pair of shoes, her first home, her first bath, and her first time sleeping in a bed.
"Mom, let's sleep. I have a name now; I am called Fengyin."
And listen to Fengyin:
For you, for you
When parting comes, the song is wild
Flowing through the seasons
Asking you, asking you
Why do you look north when heading south?
It’s always the wandering heart of a cloud
The feelings of old friends at sunset
Most unforgettable
And listen to Fengyin:
Waiting for you, waiting for you
Warm a pot of wine and return home
In a silent world
It’s you, it’s you
Looking back at the dimming twilight
As if buried in the green mountains are achievements
The confidants of flowing water
All share this moment
Seeing the wind in your eyes
Freely passing through
This freedom is worth pursuing
Hearing the wind in my heart
Like a sigh
Telling those stories of yours
In the mountains and forests, the wind sings
Layer upon layer like waves
It’s your gaze
And listen to Fengyin:
Waiting for you, waiting for you
Warm a pot of wine and return home
In a silent world
It’s you, it’s you
Looking back at the dimming twilight
As if buried in the green mountains are achievements
The confidants of flowing water
All share this moment
Seeing the wind in your eyes
Freely passing through
This freedom is worth pursuing
Hearing the wind in my heart
Like a sigh
Telling those stories of yours
In the mountains and forests, the wind sings
Layer upon layer like waves
The sound of the wind still echoes.
Song: Listen to Fengyin.
"Young master, are you tired? Quickly go to sleep and stop blowing."
Xiao Sound Ethereal, flowing through dreams.
Everyone in the martial world knows the divine doctor, Saintly Healer Yun Zhongzi. His medical skills are unparalleled, and his accomplishments are unprecedented. Whether anyone will surpass him in the future remains unknown, but he is always elusive, rumored to gather herbs deep within the clouds. Thus, people in the martial world refer to him as Yun Zhongzi, a title he has come to embrace.
It is said that Yun Zhongzi resides on Misty Mountain, where thick fog lingers year-round, making it impossible to discern direction. Those who come seeking medical help often get lost in the dense mist; only with Yun Zhongzi's guidance can anyone navigate through it. Of course, there are extraordinary individuals who can find Yun Zhongzi's dwelling, but throughout his long career, Yun Zhongzi has three types of patients he refuses to treat:
1. He does not treat great evildoers.
2. He does not treat ailments that pose no challenge.
3. He does not treat patients when he is in a bad mood.
Though this may seem somewhat capricious and frustrating, people in the martial world still hold Yun Zhongzi in high regard, bestowing upon him the title of Miraculous Healing. It is said that Yun Zhongzi has spent his life researching the elixir of immortality, seeking that elusive path to eternal life. Regardless of whether he has succeeded in his research, the admiration from the martial world for him is fervent.
Of course, there are those who wish to steal his formulas; however, such underhanded individuals are typically unworthy and have ulterior motives.
For years, people have lingered outside Misty Mountain, either studying how to enter the mist or lying along the mountain path, waiting for Yun Zhongzi's benevolence.
Naturally, if you possess something that can move Yun Zhongzi, he will not care whether you are good or bad; he will come to your aid. This is merely an unspoken understanding—everyone knows it but does not speak of it. However, how many people in the world can present something that would truly captivate the divine doctor? The answer is certainly very few.
