Xu Zizhao sent me a message on WeChat, "Li Tianyu, I'm at your dormitory door. Come down, we need to talk."
"I'm about to go to class."
"I'll walk you there."
"No need."
I still didn't go down.
After my afternoon class ended, I went to the cafeteria.
Xu Zizhao was right at the entrance. As soon as he saw me, he walked over immediately.
I turned to leave.
He grabbed my arm and said, "Li Tianyu, we need to talk."
I closed my eyes for a moment and then opened them again. "Xu Zizhao, there's nothing for us to talk about."
"I'm sorry," he said in a low voice. "I really didn't mean to lie to you; I just didn't know how to explain."
"You don't need to explain anything to me," I said, looking down. "Anyway, we have no future together. Breaking up now is just fine."
"I'm not breaking up," he insisted, holding onto me tightly. "Li Tianyu, I'm not breaking up."
I struggled against him. "Let go of me."
He directly pulled me into his arms and leaned down to whisper in my ear, "I won't let go, Li Tianyu. I won't break up with you."
"Xu Zizhao, you jerk!" I cried out. "You lied to me; I don't want to trust you anymore."
He held me tightly, his voice a bit hoarse. "I know I was wrong. I'll make it up to you, but please don't break up with me, okay?"
I cried and said, "You lied to me."
"I really know I was wrong," he murmured softly. "Li Tianyu, I really like you."
I paused slightly and looked up at him.
He was looking back at me, his eyes deep and sincere. "I really like you, Li Tianyu."
The news of my breakup with Xu Zizhao spread quickly.
Every day, people would come to the confession wall asking if it was true.
I just glanced at it and ignored them.
Xu Zizhao continued to seek me out and treated me well as always.
He accompanied me to class and even risked getting caught by the teacher.
"Li Tianyu, is that your boyfriend?" the professor asked.
Xu Zizhao replied confidently, "Yes."
I felt my face turn red.
The professor laughed, "Alright, we'll talk more after class."
I lowered my head, my toes digging into the ground.
After class, Xu Zizhao walked me back to the dormitory.
As we approached the dorm, he handed me a piece of paper.
I opened it to find a sketch.
It was a drawing of me.
I couldn't help but laugh, "Aren't you childish? Why did you draw this for me?"
"Isn't it nice?"
"It is," I looked at it again, "Thank you."
Xu Zizhao ruffled my hair, "Go on in."
I nodded, "Goodbye."
I turned and entered the dormitory.
Xu Zizhao stayed outside watching me.
Once inside, I pinned the drawing to the wall above my bed.
My roommates saw it and couldn't help but exclaim, "Xu Zizhao treats you so well, Li Tianyu. Don't listen to what others say; even if he has some issues, he likes you."
I smiled and said nothing.
For several days, Xu Zizhao accompanied me to class.
Everyone got used to it.
"Li Tianyu," Xu Wenhe suddenly approached and greeted me, "Long time no see."
"Senior," I looked at him and smiled slightly, "Been busy lately?"
"Not too much," Xu Wenhe looked at me, hesitating to continue, "You..."
"What's wrong with her?" Xu Zizhao's voice suddenly interrupted.
Xu Wenhe paused slightly before smiling and explaining, "It's nothing; I just haven't seen Li Tianyu in a while and wanted to say hello."
Xu Zizhao held my hand and coldly looked at him, saying, "Oh, now that you've seen it, you can leave."
Xu Wenhe's expression was a bit awkward. "Alright, then I'll head back."
He left.
I couldn't help but complain to Xu Zizhao, "Don't be like this."
"He has ulterior motives towards you," Xu Zizhao said coldly.
"......" I was at a loss for words. "How do you know?"
"I just know," he glared at me. "From now on, you're not allowed to smile at him."
"You're too domineering."
"I am domineering," he held my hand. "I won't allow you to be nice to him."
I laughed, "You're so childish."
"I'm not childish," he huffed. "I'm very mature."
"Yes, yes, you're mature, is that good enough?"
"That's more like it."
Suddenly, he leaned in and whispered in my ear, "Li Tianyu, I like you."
My heart skipped a beat, and my cheeks turned red.
Xu Zizhao looked at me with a smirk, "Li Tianyu, I said I like you."
"I got it," I lowered my head and murmured softly, "Keep your voice down."
"What are you afraid of?" He laughed mischievously. "I want the whole world to know that I like you."
In the evening, Xu Zizhao called me.
"Li Tianyu, come out for dinner."
"I'm not going."
"Why not?"
"I just don't want to."
"Then I'll have the bodyguards come pick you up," he threatened softly.
I couldn't help but laugh. "Xu Zizhao, I don't like you like this."
"Then if you're not going, forget it," he said with a hint of disappointment. "I'll let them go eat by themselves."
"What is the situation?"
"They called me, but I don't know who it is."
I thought for a moment and asked, "Do you drink?"
"No."
"Really?"
"Really."
"Then I'm not going either."
"Okay, you just sleep well and wait for my call."
"Alright."
I hung up the phone and prepared to sleep.
Just as I was about to doze off, my phone suddenly rang.
It was Xu Zizhao calling.
I immediately answered, saying "Hello."
"Li Tianyu, I've had too much to drink, I'm downstairs."
I got up and went downstairs.
Xu Zizhao was standing below, leaning against the streetlight.
He looked at me, his eyes deep.
I walked over and gently patted his shoulder, "Xu Zizhao, you're drunk."
He hugged me tightly, "Li Tianyu, I like you."
I paused slightly, "You... you're drunk. Let me take you home first."
"I don't want to go back." He clung to me like a child, "I want to be with you."
"Xu Zizhao, you're drunk." I couldn't break free and felt a bit helpless, "Let go of me first."
"I won't let go." His voice was a bit choked, "Li Tianyu, I really like you."
I laughed softly, "I understand now."
"You don't understand." He held onto me tighter, his voice growing hoarse, "You don't know anything."
