Su Xingchen stepped off the stage to thunderous applause surrounding her. She slightly lowered her head, smiling shyly, and jogged backstage.
"Xingchen! You were amazing! Your performance just now was stunning!" Zhao Zixuan excitedly rushed over and wrapped an arm around Su Xingchen's shoulders.
Lu Ziang stood not far away, watching Su Xingchen and Zhao Zixuan playfully interact, feeling an indescribable pang of jealousy in his heart.
"Xingchen, you've changed a lot recently," Lu Ziang said softly as he approached.
"Really?" Su Xingchen looked up at Lu Ziang, her eyes sparkling with confidence. "It's all thanks to your guidance, Ziang."
Lu Ziang was momentarily taken aback, then smiled and shook his head. "I just pointed you in the right direction; the key is still you."
Su Xingchen smiled but said nothing.
During their time together, Su Xingchen had come to understand Lu Ziang more deeply. He was no longer the aloof and proud academic idol but a warm young man who gently explained problems to her, patiently guided her rehearsals, and quietly stood by her side when she faced difficulties.
And Su Xingchen gradually realized the kindness and warmth hidden beneath his cold exterior through their interactions. The distance between them unknowingly drew closer.
The Campus Cultural Festival arrived as scheduled. The entire campus was immersed in a sea of joy. On stage, students showcased their talents and youthful energy with all their might.
Su Xingchen and Lu Ziang sat side by side in the audience, enjoying the wonderful performances. Su Xingchen watched with great interest, occasionally gasping in amazement. Lu Ziang kept his gaze fixed on Su Xingchen, his eyes filled with affectionate smiles.
"Xingchen, come with me," Lu Ziang suddenly stood up and extended his hand toward Su Xingchen.
Su Xingchen looked at Lu Ziang in confusion but still placed her hand in his.
Lu Ziang led Su Xingchen through the crowded crowd to the school playground. At this moment, the playground was devoid of its usual noise; only a few stars dotted the night sky, creating a tranquil and beautiful scene.
"Ziang, why did you bring me here?" Su Xingchen asked curiously.
As soon as she finished speaking, Su Xingchen was stunned by the sight before her.
In the originally empty playground, a heart-shaped path made of candles had appeared, decorated with colorful balloons on either side, creating an extremely romantic atmosphere.
At the end of the path, Lu Ziang held a bouquet of bright red roses, gazing affectionately at Su Xingchen.
"Xingchen, I..." Lu Ziang took a deep breath and slowly began to speak, "I know I may have been a bit distant before, but I want to tell you that I like you. I am willing to change for you!"
Lu Ziang's voice trembled slightly, yet each word clearly reached Su Xingchen's ears.
Her heart raced as she couldn't suppress her excitement; tears of joy welled up in her eyes.
"I... I feel the same way..." Su Xingchen choked out.
A look of ecstatic joy spread across Lu Ziang's face as he quickly walked up to Su Xingchen, kneeling on one knee and presenting the roses to her.
Su Xingchen took the flowers, unable to contain her excitement and happiness any longer. She tightly embraced Lu Ziang and whispered in his ear, "Thank you, Lu Ziang, I like you too."
Upon hearing Su Xingchen's confession, it felt as if colorful fireworks exploded in Lu Ziang's mind. He couldn't help but gently stroke Su Xingchen's hair.
He silently vowed to himself: "Su Xingchen, I will always treat you well, for a lifetime..."
