The speed of the White Shadow was incredibly fast. Yu Mengmeng didn't even see what it was; she only felt a flash before hearing a sharp bird call. When she focused her eyes, she realized it was a large White Eagle, using its sharp claws to pin down a venomous snake by its throat. The snake twisted helplessly, hissing in threat but unable to escape.
Yu Mengmeng was so frightened that her face turned pale, and she collapsed onto the ground, unable to regain her senses for a long time. Qi Lan quickly walked up to her, bent down, and asked calmly, "Are you okay?"
Only then did Yu Mengmeng see who it was, a hint of surprise flashing in her eyes, quickly replaced by fear. "Qi Lan, help... help me..."
Qi Lan said nothing but turned to look at the White Eagle and let out a low whistle. Upon hearing her voice, the White Eagle immediately released its grip, spread its wings, circled in the air a few times, and then landed on a tall branch, watching her quietly.
Qi Lan then turned back, reached out to help Yu Mengmeng up, brushed off the dust from her clothes, and said lightly, "It's fine now. Let's go."
Yu Mengmeng was still immersed in the earlier danger; her legs felt weak and she could barely stand. She tightly grasped Qi Lan's arm and trembled as she asked, "What... what was that? Why did it attack me?"
Qi Lan glanced at her and replied coolly, "That was Bamboo Leaf Green. It's highly poisonous; one bite can be fatal." She emphasized the word "poison" heavily while observing Yu Mengmeng's reaction.
As expected, Yu Mengmeng's expression changed; a hint of fear flashed in her eyes but quickly returned to normal. She only tightened her grip on Qi Lan's arm as if holding onto a lifeline.
Qi Lan subtly withdrew her hand and continued walking while explaining, "It wasn't attacking you; it was protecting its territory. You wandered into its domain, which is why it warned you."
Yu Mengmeng paused for a moment, seemingly confused. "But... why does it listen to you?"
Qi Lan stopped and turned to look at her with a sly smile in her eyes. "Because I can understand what it says."
Yu Mengmeng stared at her blankly as if trying to determine the truth of her words. Qi Lan didn't explain further and turned back to continue walking, leaving Yu Mengmeng standing there alone with a face full of confusion and shock.
"Wait for me!" Yu Mengmeng came back to her senses and hurriedly chased after her. This time, she dared not act recklessly as before but obediently followed behind Qi Lan, matching her pace step by step.
The two had not walked long when they saw Lu Chen and Fu Nian anxiously looking around. Upon seeing them return safely, both of them sighed in relief.
"Where have you been? Why did you leave without a word?" Lu Chen quickly walked up to Yu Mengmeng, his tone carrying a hint of reproach.
Before Yu Mengmeng could respond, Fu Nian interjected, "Exactly! Do you know how worried we were? This forest is so dangerous; what if something happened to you? How are we supposed to explain that to the production team?"
Yu Mengmeng already felt guilty, and hearing this made her feel even more wronged. Her eyes turned red, and she was about to cry.
"Alright, it's fine now," Lu Chen gently patted her shoulder and comforted her. "Just don't do that again next time."
Yu Mengmeng nodded and secretly glanced at Qi Lan, only to find her focused on fiddling with a dagger in her hand, seemingly indifferent to what was happening over here.
"By the way, Qi Lan, how did you know Meng Meng was in danger?" Lu Chen suddenly asked, his gaze sharply fixed on Qi Lan.
Qi Lan looked up to meet his gaze, a faint smile appearing on her lips as she calmly replied, "Because I saw a snake."

Qi Lan's nonchalant statement left everyone stunned, especially Yu Mengmeng, whose face instantly turned pale. Her lips trembled slightly, but she couldn't utter a word. Fu Nian was the first to jump up, pointing at Qi Lan and shouting loudly, "You're talking nonsense! How could there be a snake here? Stop spreading fear!" He turned to look at Lu Chen and saw him staring seriously at Qi Lan. Feeling even more flustered, he spoke in a more aggressive tone, "Lu Ge, don't listen to her nonsense; she's just trying to scare us and throw us off balance!"
Qi Lan ignored Fu Nian's outburst and simply pulled out her phone from her pocket, saying calmly, "Whether I'm lying or not can be seen from this."
On the phone screen played a video. The image was somewhat dim but still clearly showed Yu Mengmeng sneakily following behind Qi Lan. Not far from her, a green Bamboo Leaf Green snake coiled on a branch, flicking its tongue as if ready to attack.
Seeing this scene, everyone gasped in shock. Yu Mengmeng turned pale, her legs went weak, and she collapsed to the ground, unable to speak for a long time. She never expected that every move she made had been captured by Qi Lan, especially in such a situation!
The video continued to play. In the footage, Qi Lan discovered a venomous snake but did not raise the alarm; instead, she continued walking forward, seemingly unaware of the danger. Yu Mengmeng, terrified, dared not get too close and thus avoided disaster.
"Did you see that? If I hadn't discovered it in time, you would have..." Qi Lan paused deliberately, her gaze sweeping over everyone present before finally landing on Fu Nian. "You would have become a corpse."
"You..." Fu Nian felt a chill run down his spine under her gaze. He wanted to retort but found himself at a loss for words. The video had already made everything clear; he could not argue his way out of it.
"And this," Qi Lan ignored Fu Nian's reaction and continued playing the video. This time, Fu Nian's figure appeared on screen. He was hiding behind a tree, secretly observing Qi Lan and Yu Mengmeng. When he saw Yu Mengmeng threatened by the snake, instead of showing any concern, a sinister smile crept across his face.
The video ended there. Qi Lan put away her phone and looked around calmly. "I think this video should prove that I wasn't lying, right?"
The room fell silent; everyone was stunned by the footage. They never expected that the glamorous star would reveal such a side of herself behind closed doors. Especially Fu Nian, who had always presented himself as a sunny and warm man; now his dark side had been exposed, destroying his image completely.
Lu Chen frowned deeply, looking at Qi Lan with complex emotions. He had always thought he saw through the hypocrisy and darkness of the entertainment industry, but reality was even harsher than he imagined. And Qi Lan, whom he had always considered a mere pretty face among lesser-known stars, displayed an extraordinary calmness and intelligence.
At that moment, a sharp voice broke the silence.
"This is impossible!" Yu Mengmeng suddenly jumped up and pointed at Qi Lan, shouting loudly, "You must have done this on purpose! You knew there was a snake there all along and deliberately led me into danger, right?" She had completely lost her rationality and was hysterically trying to defend herself.
"Why would I do that?" Qi Lan looked at her with amusement and countered, "What benefit would it bring me?"
"Because..." Yu Mengmeng was at a loss for words; she couldn't possibly say it was because she was jealous of Qi Lan and wanted to embarrass her.
Just then, an unfamiliar voice came from afar: "Because she is jealous of you!"
Everyone turned to the sound and saw a man in a black suit walking towards them, followed by several staff members carrying cameras and microphones.
"Who are you?" Yu Mengmeng asked warily, watching the newcomer.
"I am Mengmeng's manager," the man said as he approached the group. "My name is Wang Qiang." He turned to the camera and said, "Hello, dear viewers. I am Miss Yu Mengmeng's manager, Wang Qiang. I apologize for our late arrival due to some special circumstances. However, I believe what I am about to say will shock everyone!"
Wang Qiang continued, pulling a document from his pocket and displaying it in front of the camera. "This is the contract between Mengmeng and the company. It clearly states that if Mengmeng has any negative news during the contract period, the company has the right to unilaterally terminate the contract and hold her liable for breach of contract."
He paused, scanning each person present before finally fixing his gaze on Yu Mengmeng. He spoke slowly and deliberately, "And you, Yu Mengmeng, not only lied openly on the show and framed your teammates, but you even spoke harshly to your benefactor. Your actions have seriously damaged the company's image and completely betrayed the love your fans have for you!"
As soon as Wang Qiang finished speaking, the surrounding staff immediately stepped forward and held the microphone out to Yu Mengmeng.
"Mengmeng, do you have anything to say about your manager's accusations?"
"Mengmeng, are you really as hypocritical and pretentious as your manager claims?"
"Mengmeng, do you have any words for your fans?"

Faced with the reporters' aggressive questions, Yu Mengmeng completely broke down. She slumped helplessly to the ground, tears streaming down her face uncontrollably.
Qi Lan quietly observed everything without a hint of emotion on her face. She turned and walked away, leaving behind a graceful silhouette that was deeply etched in everyone's minds.
