"You..." Richard Miller stammered, wanting to argue but finding himself unable to refute. 0

"Stop the nonsense, take them away!" Tu Shen waved his hand, signaling his subordinates to escort Richard Miller and the other suspects into the police car. 0

Chen Shuhua ignored Richard Miller's outcry and quickly walked to the Surgical Table, trembling as he touched his wife's pale cheek. 0

" Chen Lily... Chen Lily..." Chen Shuhua softly called his wife's name, tears finally streaming down his face. 0

The sound of sirens pierced the night sky as several police cars sped away from the abandoned factory, leaving chaos in their wake. 0

Chen Shuhua sat in the ambulance, tightly holding his wife's hand, filled with guilt and regret. 0

" Chen Lily, I'm sorry... I'm so sorry..." Chen Shuhua choked out, tears falling onto his wife's cold hand. 0

"Dr. Chen Shuhua, we did our best," a doctor said as he removed his mask, shaking his head helplessly. 0

Chen Shuhua slumped weakly in the chair, darkness enveloping him. 0

"No! This can't be happening!" Chen Shuhua suddenly stood up and grabbed the doctor's collar. "You have to save her! I'm begging you! I can't live without her!" 0

"Dr. Chen Shuhua, please calm down!" The doctor tried to soothe Chen Shuhua's emotions. "We did everything we could, but..." 0

"There is no 'but'! You must save her!" Chen Shuhua shouted hysterically, his eyes bloodshot. 0

"Chen Shuhua..." Tu Shen stepped forward and patted Chen Shuhua's shoulder, signaling him to calm down. 0

Chen Shuhua weakly released the doctor's collar and slowly knelt beside his wife, burying his head in her cold hands as tears fell like rain. 0

" Chen Lily..." Chen Shuhua whispered, his voice filled with sorrow and despair. 0

"Doctor, the emotions of the deceased's family are very unstable. Should we..." a nurse whispered. 0

The doctor sighed and patted the nurse's shoulder, signaling her to step outside first. 0

"Let him have some time alone," the doctor said softly, turning to leave the operating room. 0

In the empty operating room, only Chen Shuhua remained, silently guarding his wife's body. 0

" Chen Lily, please wake up... Open your eyes and look at me..." Chen Shuhua called his wife's name over and over again, as if that could pull her back from the abyss of death. 0

However, all he received in response was endless silence. 0

Chen Shuhua slowly raised his head, his gaze falling on the familiar ring on his wife's wrist. 0

It was the ring he had personally placed on her finger during their wedding, made of platinum and engraved with their initials. 0

Chen Shuhua trembled as he gently stroked the ring, suddenly recalling the identical ring on the wrist of the nameless female corpse on the autopsy table. 0

At that moment, Chen Shuhua felt as if struck by lightning; his face turned pale instantly. 0

He finally understood why he had felt an inexplicable familiarity with that ring in the autopsy room that day. 0

Because he had kissed this ring countless times, as it belonged to his beloved wife. 0

And he had personally performed an autopsy on his own wife! 0

"Ah—" Chen Shuhua let out a heart-wrenching scream and violently overturned the surgical cart beside him. 0

The clash of metal instruments created a piercing sound that echoed through the silent corridor. 0

"Chen Shuhua! What's wrong with you?" Tu Shen heard the commotion and hurriedly pushed the door open, only to see Chen Shuhua frantically smashing things in the operating room. 0

" Chen Lily... Chen Lily..." Chen Shuhua kept murmuring his wife's name, his eyes red and wild, as if he had lost his mind. 0

Tu Shen had never seen Chen Shuhua so out of control. Realizing something was seriously wrong, he rushed forward and embraced Chen Shuhua, trying to stop him from spiraling further into madness. 0

"Chen Shuhua, calm down! Look at me! I'm Tu Shen!" Tu Shen shouted. 0

It seemed that Chen Shuhua did not hear Tu Shen's voice; he remained engulfed in immense grief and self-blame, unable to pull himself out. 0

" Chen Lily... I caused your suffering... I caused your suffering..." Chen Shuhua muttered, his voice filled with regret and despair. 0

Tu Shen looked at the man before him, who was in unbearable pain, feeling a deep sense of sympathy and helplessness. 0

He knew that what Chen Shuhua needed now was not comfort, but time. 0

Time would dull everything, including this heart-wrenching pain. 0

"Come on, Chen Shuhua, let's get out of here," Tu Shen said as he helped the limp Chen Shuhua to his feet. 0

Chen Shuhua did not resist and allowed Tu Shen to support him as they slowly walked out of the operating room. 0

His silhouette appeared particularly desolate and lonely. 0
