At that moment, a burly figure in black suddenly leaped over the courtyard wall. His gaze was fierce, and he held a heavy Greatsword in his hand. He was the captain of Gao Zhendong's Guards, known as Iron Beast. He coldly stared at Li Ye and his group, swinging his sword down towards Li Ye.

"It seems Gao Zhendong has made a ruthless decision," Li Ye said coldly, his eyes sharp as he fixed his gaze on Iron Beast.
"Hmph, you scum dare to oppose Lord Gao? There is only one path for you—death!" Iron Beast roared, bringing his Greatsword down again with such force that it numbed Li Ye's arms.
Li Ye lightly tapped his feet and quickly retreated, his longsword moving like a snake, slicing through the air with brilliant sword light. The bell in his hand trembled slightly, producing a clear ringing sound that disrupted Iron Beast's focus.
With an angry roar, Iron Beast swung his Greatsword horizontally, creating a fierce gust of wind. Li Ye sidestepped just in time and countered with a thrust aimed at Iron Beast's shoulder. Although Iron Beast was large, he moved swiftly to evade, the blade narrowly missing him.
The two exchanged blows in an intense and tense battle. Iron Beast's swordplay was bold and powerful, while Li Ye's technique was agile and varied, combining offense and defense. After dozens of exchanges, neither side could gain the upper hand.
However, as time passed, Li Ye gradually began to read Iron Beast's attacks. His swordsmanship became increasingly fierce and aggressive. Iron Beast started to tire, sustaining multiple cuts from Li Ye's strikes, blood pouring from his wounds.
"You little brat!" Iron Beast gritted his teeth and suddenly swung down at Li Ye's head.
Li Ye snorted coldly, raising his hand to block the blade and countering with a thrust aimed at Iron Beast's abdomen. Caught off guard, Iron Beast was struck directly, spitting out blood as he fell to his knees.
"Spare me... spare me!" Fear flashed in Iron Beast's eyes as he pleaded desperately.
Li Ye looked at him coldly and mercilessly drove his longsword into Iron Beast's shoulder. Iron Beast let out a terrible scream, writhing in pain. The bell in Li Ye's hand gently swayed as Nine Nether Soul Lock surged from Iron Beast's shadow, binding his soul.
The figure of an evil spirit appeared in Li Ye's consciousness, sneering at Iron Beast. "Kid, the souls of these people are a delicacy for me."
Li Ye gazed at the evil spirit and said coldly, "I promise you that once everything is resolved, the souls of Gao Zhendong and his forces will belong to you, but you must help me expose Gao Zhendong's misdeeds."

The next day, Li Ye brought the controlled Iron Beast to the city tower of Qingyang City. Under the evil spirit's control, the Iron Beast detailed Gao Zhendong's misdeeds and exposed his plot of indiscriminately slaughtering civilians and framing innocent people on the wanted list.
"Common People, your suffering is all caused by Gao Zhendong! His so-called wanted list is merely a cover for his crimes!" the Iron Beast proclaimed loudly, its voice echoing throughout the square.
Upon hearing this truth, the Common People were immediately stirred up with anger, cursing Gao Zhendong and vowing to seek justice for their deceased loved ones. The hearts of the entire Qingyang City populace had completely turned against Gao Zhendong!
Standing on the city tower with a stack of evidence in hand, the Iron Beast faced the enraged Common People: "Common People, I have irrefutable evidence proving that Gao Zhendong is the real culprit! These are testimonies from his subordinates who were tortured; they witnessed Gao Zhendong commanding the Guards to indiscriminately kill civilians!"
It raised several blood-stained testimonies that were filled with coerced confessions. Those confessions detailed how Gao Zhendong ordered the Guards to disguise themselves as Soul Devourer followers and slaughter innocent civilians at night, only to frame those on the wanted list the next day.
"And here are these letters, correspondence between Liu Zhang and Gao Zhendong discussing how to control Qingyang City through instilling panic." The Iron Beast displayed several letters bearing orders personally signed by Gao Zhendong.
Just as the Iron Beast revealed this evidence, Gao Zhendong suddenly appeared, wielding a Greatsword. He leaped onto the city tower and roared, "Rebel, you seek death!"
Before the Iron Beast could react, it was cleaved in half by Gao Zhendong's sword, blood splattering everywhere. The Common People were terrified by this scene and scattered in all directions. Gao Zhendong coldly surveyed his surroundings, attempting to argue: "These so-called evidences are all fabricated by the Iron Beast; he has long been bribed by thieves wanting to disrupt Qingyang City's peace! I am the true general protecting you!"
The Common People looked at Gao Zhendong with skepticism, filled with doubt. At that moment, the evil spirit controlling Liu Fei's body slowly walked up to the city tower and announced Gao Zhendong's crimes in Liu Fei's identity.

"Look at these; these are letters written in Gao Zhendong's own hand, along with testimonies from his Guards." Liu Fei presented evidence to the people, proving Gao Zhendong's guilt.
Gao Zhendong's expression changed drastically as he seethed with rage: "You wretched person, dare you betray me!"
Gao Zhendong's eyes flashed with a fierce intensity as he raised the Greatsword and lunged at Liu Fei. Under the control of the malevolent spirit, Liu Fei's face showed a hint of terror as she weakly retreated, pretending to be unable to confront him. Gao Zhendong sneered, "You wretched woman, today you will undoubtedly die!"
The malevolent spirit controlling Liu Fei's body exaggeratedly shouted in a fake tone, "Oh no~ I'm being killed~ I'm so scared~ Help~ Me~!"
Li Ye watched the malevolent spirit's exaggerated and false display with a mix of amusement and disbelief. What kind of creature was this spirit in life? It seemed utterly unreliable!

Meanwhile, Specter moved swiftly alongside, her daggers darting out to attack Gao Zhendong's weak points. Li Ye and Specter worked seamlessly together; Li Ye's long sword struck steadily while Specter was quick as the wind, her strikes rapid. At the same time, a fierce battle raged below on the city tower. "Don't worry, leave it to me!" Yan Yuchen replied as she swiftly turned around and repelled the attacking Guard with her sword technique.
The two women coordinated flawlessly, their movements seeming rehearsed to perfection. On the battlefield, they resembled two butterflies dancing gracefully yet every step was filled with lethal intent.
The Vice Leader of the Bat Gang led his subordinates into an intense melee against Gao Zhendong's Guards. Chief Zhang Batian wielded the Dragon Tooth Sabre with tremendous force, cutting down several Guards with each strike. Vice Leader Wang Meng displayed agility as he wielded dual blades, weaving effortlessly through the enemy ranks.
Although the Guards were all brave and skilled in battle, they gradually fell short against the siege of the Bat Gang. In a moment, beneath the city tower, blades flashed and cries of battle echoed, creating a grand and bloody scene.
The Common People were being hunted by Gao Zhendong's Guards, panicking and fleeing for their lives. Seeing this, the Bat Gang's underlings quickly stepped forward, shielding the Common People behind them and fiercely resisting the Guards' attacks.
"Don't be afraid, we will protect you!" one of the Bat Gang's underlings shouted, using his body to block the blade of a Guard.
The Common People were deeply grateful and expressed their appreciation to the Bat Gang. The underlings of the Bat Gang disregarded their own safety, risking their lives to protect the citizens, earning their trust and support.
In the fierce battle, Li Ye and Specter gradually gained the upper hand. Li Ye flicked his long sword, sending Gao Zhendong's Greatsword flying, while Specter swiftly moved in, crossing his twin swords against Gao Zhendong's neck.
"Gao Zhendong, you have already lost," Li Ye said coldly.
Gao Zhendong struggled unwillingly, gritting his teeth: "You rebels!"
Li Ye did not say anything more. With a wave of his hand, Nine Nether Soul Lock emitted a ghostly light, locking onto Gao Zhendong's soul. An evil spirit appeared in his sea of consciousness, coldly staring at Li Ye.
"Kid, well done," the evil spirit said with satisfaction. "Remember your promise; after you deal with Gao Zhendong and his forces, their souls belong to me."
Li Ye nodded: "I will naturally fulfill my promise; they are yours."
The evil spirit smiled with satisfaction. Using Liu Fei's body, it leaned closer to Gao Zhendong and giggled: "General Gao, I will definitely savor your flavor; I guarantee not a single bit will go to waste!"
