A few people traveled for two days along a mundane route, heading towards Jiangnan Capital. The journey was smooth, with lodging, meals, and cultivation all seeming quite ordinary. Today, however, felt a bit different as they entered a roadside tea stall to have some tea to soothe their throats; after all, continuous travel could leave anyone feeling tired and thirsty. They found a corner to sit down, sipping from large bowls of tea. While they couldn't exactly savor the tea, it was sufficient to quench their thirst.
Just as they were enjoying a moment of tranquility, a group of fierce bandits surrounded them. These bandits wore tattered coarse clothing, their faces brutish and menacing, with fierce eyes. Their attire was shabby, swords hanging at their waists, and they emanated a foul odor—typical of rogue bandits. The leader among them was particularly intimidating.
The bandit leader was tall and robust, with dark skin and a face covered in scars and stubble that made him look exceptionally fearsome. He wore a worn black leather armor that was open at the front, revealing his muscular chest and several gruesome scars. A cold smirk played on his lips, exposing yellowed teeth as he placed one sturdy leg on the stool in front of Li Ye, looking down at him.
"Kid! My brothers and I can read faces; we saw from afar that you have good fortune with women but no luck to enjoy it," the bandit leader sneered. "Out of kindness, we’ll help you through this peach blossom calamity. Hand over these ladies beside you to us and leave some silver as thanks for saving your life. We’ll let you roll out of here safely; what do you say?"
Upon hearing this, a glint of cold light flashed in Li Ye's eyes. He calmly set down his tea bowl and coldly stared at the bandit leader without showing any signs of fear. Zhiruo and Yan Yuchen frowned slightly while Chen Hu, Liu Chengfeng, and Su Yue displayed expressions of disdain.
"Oh? You really are blind," Li Ye said with a cold smile. "Do you truly think you have what it takes?"
The bandit leader's expression darkened as he snorted coldly: "It seems you won't shed tears until you see the coffin. Brothers, teach this kid a lesson and take away the women beside him!"
Before he finished speaking, the bandits surged forward, brandishing their weapons towards Li Ye and his companions. In that instant, Li Ye moved swiftly, disappearing from his spot only to reappear wielding the Nine Nether Guardian Spirit Sword, its blade flashing like lightning. With several hissing sounds, a few bandits fell to the ground before they even realized what had happened, blood splattering everywhere.
Zhiruo and Yan Yuchen also sprang into action; Zhiruo cast spells with glimmering cold light in her hands, instantly freezing several bandits into ice sculptures; Yan Yuchen wielded her long whip with both grace and strength, repelling each attacking bandit one by one. Chen Hu, Liu Chengfeng, and Su Yue were equally unwilling to back down as they teamed up against their foes with swift punches and kicks aimed at vital points.
Seeing this unfold, the bandit leader's face changed dramatically; he hadn't expected Li Ye's group to be so formidable. He hurriedly retreated, attempting to escape the battlefield. But how could Li Ye let him go? In a flash, Li Ye appeared behind the bandit leader with his sword pointed directly at his back.
"Have you heard the saying? Heaven has its paths which you refuse to take; hell has no doors yet you come knocking!" Li Ye said coldly. "Daring to lay hands on my women? You truly are tired of living."
Feeling the chill behind him, the bandit leader broke into a cold sweat; his legs went weak as he knelt on the ground pleading for mercy: "Hero spare me! Hero spare me! We were blind not to recognize your greatness and offended you; please show mercy and spare our lives!"
Li Ye coldly stared at the Bandit, the tip of the Nine Nether Guardian Spirit Sword already pressed against the Bandit's neck. At that moment, the Bandit's head suddenly began to swell, bizarrely inflating like a balloon. The Bandit let out a terrified scream, but before he could finish, there was a loud bang as his head exploded, blood and brain matter splattering everywhere. Li Ye frowned at the horrific scene, cautiously looking around and coldly saying, "This is no fun; it's ruining my mood for tea!"
Not far away, a young man slowly approached. He had a gaunt face, dark circles under his eyes indicating that he had been drained by indulgence. He wore luxurious yet filthy clothes, with long hair messily draped over his shoulders. His gaze was sinister, and a strange smile lingered at the corners of his mouth, making him appear exceptionally lewd and evil.
He chuckled ominously and said, "I initially planned to use these fools to capture some girls easily, but I didn't expect to encounter a few tough ones. However, that's fine; it's more exciting when there's a challenge." As he spoke, he waved his hand, and a dozen Sisters appeared beside him.
The first was a tall Sister with cascading black hair like a waterfall. Her features were striking, with slightly upturned eyes that exuded a sense of heroism. Her lips were rosy but vacant due to being controlled; her eyes were hollow and expressionless, revealing an eerie numbness.
Another Sister had a curvaceous figure and a delicate face resembling a porcelain doll. Her skin was as white as snow, and her eyes hinted at innocence. However, her gaze was shrouded in a gray mist, devoid of life; her lips twitched slightly as if she were unconsciously murmuring.
There was also a Sister with exquisite features; her eyes should have sparkled like stars but had lost their luster due to control. Her long hair flowed like silk over her shoulders, and she wore an elegant light blue dress. Yet her expression was stiff, her lips slightly parted with drool trickling down the corner of her mouth, creating an unsettling sight.
Behind her stood another Sister with a slender figure and an orchid-like demeanor. She had large, watery eyes that once brimmed with vitality and wisdom. Now her gaze was empty and lifeless as if her soul had been extracted. Her lips twitched slightly as she seemed to struggle against some restraint but ultimately remained completely controlled, displaying an expression of painful daze.
Another Sister nearby had a delicate appearance with an air of softness about her. Her long hair was dark as ink, her complexion fair; she wore an elegant white dress and was once a gentle beauty. However, at this moment, her eyes were dazed, and she wore a rigid smile as if unconsciously repeating some expression that appeared particularly frightening.
Next to her was another Sister with refined features and an ethereal presence who had once been a rare gem in the martial world. Her long hair was styled high, revealing her graceful neck; she wore an extravagant purple dress that made her look incredibly noble. Yet her eyes lacked sparkle; she bore a blank expression with twitching lips as if trapped in some bizarre dream.
The other Sisters each possessed different beautiful traits. Some had round faces with crescent-shaped eyes and sweet smiles; others were stunningly beautiful with an air of heroism; still others had cool expressions with delicate features that exuded icy elegance. However, they were all under control—expressionless and hollow-eyed—as if they were soulless puppets.
These Sisters should have been proud figures in the martial world; their former smiles and vitality had been erased by Qianlinghua's evil magic, turning them into tools in his hands. Their beauty on this battlefield appeared especially desolate and terrifying; each one silently conveyed the pain and helplessness of being controlled.
He grinned wickedly and said, "Let me introduce myself; my name is Qianlinghua."
Liu Chengfeng's eyes turned cold and narrowed as he said, "The flower thief who deserves to be executed by everyone! Today is your day of death!"
Qianlinghua laughed heartily and replied nonchalantly, "Oh, it seems that my name is well-known to you. However, the only one who will leave here alive today is likely to be me."
Li Ye looked at him coldly, a hint of killing intent flashing in his eyes. He knew that the flower thief before him was no ordinary foe; being able to easily control over a dozen Sisters clearly indicated he was a tough opponent. He tightened his grip on the Nine Nether Guardian Spirit Sword and coldly said, "Qianlinghua, you are overestimating yourself. Today, I will make you understand what it means to know your place!"
