A young police officer carefully completed their statements before allowing them to leave. Rafas knew who was behind this, but he didn't want to hand the matter over to the police. Solomon would resolve this issue himself within a week!
Rafas took Yan Wushuang into the car and left the hotel. Inside the car, Wushuang leaned against him, listening to the strong rhythm of his heartbeat. After hesitating for a long time, she stammered, "Rafas, why do you believe it wasn't him who poisoned?"
Rafas waited for a long time; she finally couldn't help but voice her concern. However, it was indeed not easy for her to forget someone she deeply loved in such a short time.
Gently stroking her hair and inhaling her fragrance, he slowly replied, "That guy just said it himself; his target would be me, and he wouldn't randomly choose his target."
Wushuang lowered her head in thought, then suddenly sat up and looked at him in panic. "That person who poisoned wanted to frame someone! The people who came today are all powerful figures. If a few of them died randomly, it would be troublesome for you. But today, the general caused a scene and delayed the banquet repeatedly. That woman must have been hungry and couldn't wait; she picked up a snack and ate it alone, which is why she got poisoned. It must be like that!"
"Yes, your analysis is quite accurate. It seems we should thank that guy today, right?" Rafas looked into her watery eyes as if testing her.
Wushuang was startled by his suddenly serious expression and lowered her head in panic, turning to look out at the passing scenery. The general's every word still lingered deeply in her heart. Remembering how he looked when he left made her feel so uncomfortable... so uncomfortable...
Rafas could see through her thoughts clearly. He embraced her from behind and together they watched the scenery flying past outside. "Darling, remember what you said today; you are already Mrs. Lei now, understand?"
Wushuang nodded. She knew what she was doing and didn't need him to remind her. Turning to look at him, she said, "I will fulfill my responsibilities from now on!"
Rafas lifted her chin and gently kissed her lips. Although the banquet ended early, they had already made vows before the priest and registered as a true couple.
The kiss was long and passionate, causing Rafas to hold her tightly. It had been a while since he had touched her; he truly missed her scent. His large hand began to caress her body roughly as he inhaled her natural fragrance, making it even harder for him to control himself!
Rafas had been waiting for this day for a long time. Holding his beautiful and alluring wife, he walked step by step into the castle. The servants lined up on both sides with their heads bowed respectfully to welcome their master back. Yan Wushuang shyly buried her head in his embrace. Although it wasn't the first time he held her like this, today felt particularly awkward for her.
"Master, everything you instructed has been prepared!" The old butler Band stepped forward.
"Mm, good!" Rafas nodded and carried Wushuang upstairs without looking back.
The banquet had only held a ceremony before being forced to end, but how could Rafas allow his wedding to conclude so hastily? In the garden of the castle, various exquisite foods were already prepared. Mike was responsible for bringing some guests into the castle to continue the unfinished wedding celebration!
Shouya had been investigating the poisoning incident with the police. In fact, he already had suspects in mind but with police involvement, everything needed evidence. So far they hadn't even seen Kogura in person; even if he wanted to deal with him privately, he couldn't find him.
Dozens of guests arrived at the castle; this was also Rafas's first time publicly allowing people inside. In the picturesque garden, the sound of violins floated through the air as everyone raised their glasses to celebrate the union of the newlyweds!
Wushuang returned to her room and changed out of her pure white wedding dress into a knee-length cream-colored cocktail dress before coming downstairs again with Rafas to appear before everyone.
Beautiful music blessed the newlyweds, and everyone wore smiles, but Wushuang's smile appeared forced, causing her groom to focus intently on her, guessing her thoughts.
"My beautiful bride, the man beside you is your husband. If you're still thinking about another man, I can make it happen and bring him here. What do you say?" he whispered in her ear, making it seem like they were flirting.
Wushuang's expression stiffened as she turned to meet his deep black eyes. It was as if what had just happened had no effect on him at all. She had thought the wedding would end there, but little did she know he had set up a small reception in the castle, wearing that inscrutable smile. Looking at the other guests, it seemed as if the earlier incident had never occurred; they continued to drink and chat as usual.
Nervously linking her arm with his, Wushuang hurriedly explained her distraction: “Lefas, I wasn’t thinking about anyone else. It’s just that woman suddenly dying at our wedding made me very uncomfortable. I feel so uneasy… so uneasy…”
“Fool, don’t overthink it. With your husband by your side, what could possibly be beyond my ability to handle?” He cupped her face in his hands, looking into her clear eyes and recognizing that she had indeed been frightened.
Wushuang nodded and gently leaned against him. In truth, she was also worried about him; however, with Miss Misa by his side, she believed he would be fine.
The two embraced when a servant wheeled in a six-tier cake, smiling broadly. Together with Rafas, they cut the cake in front of everyone. The garden was filled with laughter and the clinking of champagne glasses. As one of the main characters, she felt completely out of place among them.
“Lefas, I want to go back to our room.” With no leaves left on the trees, she didn’t know how to interact with these people. Rafas was busy mingling at the reception and inevitably neglected her. Faced with the intense gazes of other men, she truly couldn’t stay any longer.
Seeing her pale expression, Rafas leaned down and asked, “What’s wrong? Are you feeling unwell or is it because I’ve neglected you?”
“I just want to go back to our room; is that too much to ask?” She didn’t directly answer his question.
“Of course not! Today you are the main character; how could you not be present? If you’re tired, I can take you somewhere to sit and rest for a while. How does that sound?” Rafas gently stroked her cheek.
Wushuang didn’t respond but obediently followed him to a nearby seat. Watching him happily converse with others only made her feel more restless.
Taking advantage of his brief absence, Wushuang looked around. Although this small reception was ostensibly held for them, she found it very commercial and didn’t like it at all.
She strode out of the garden without caring about the gazes of everyone present. Seeing her leave, Rafas furrowed his brow and immediately followed after her with a tense expression.
Removing a hairpin from her hair, she let her long locks fall freely and weakly collapsed onto the large bed. The fiery rose red dominated the entire bedroom today. She, Yan Wushuang, ultimately could not escape fate's mockery; she would spend this life trapped in this cage.
“Bang…” Rafas entered the bedroom behind her. It seemed his little pet wasn’t behaving well?
Knowing it was him who came in, Wushuang closed her eyes and lay still on the bed. Rafas walked steadily toward her and reached the bedside, asking softly, “Why didn’t you listen to me and ran off alone?”
Wushuang maintained her demeanor in response to his question. Rafas waited for a moment, seeming to grow impatient. He took off his suit jacket and tossed it carelessly onto the carpet, quickly pressing down on her, pinning her hands above her head. "Answer me, don't you want to be by my side?"
"Let go, you're hurting me!" Wushuang struggled against his tight grip on her wrists. His strength was overwhelming, making her feel increasingly constrained and uncomfortable.
"Answer me. Don't think that just because you said those things in front of that guy today, I believe your heart is entirely with me. What is your true intention? We all know!" Rafas wanted not only her body but also her heart to belong to him.
"Lefas, you're hurting me." She looked at him with clear, ethereal eyes. The pain in her wrists made her struggle, and her smile twisted in agony as tears slowly rolled down her cheeks.
As the tears fell, it seemed to pierce Rafas's heart. He released the grip that had confined her, and his expression softened considerably. With tears welling up in his eyes, he pushed himself off her and she stumbled into the bathroom.
Sitting beside the bathtub, she hugged her knees tightly, burying her tear-streaked face between them. She didn't understand what was happening to her; she felt so chaotic inside. Ever since she spoke those words to the general, her heart had yet to settle.
"Baby, open the door. What do you want? If it's to make that man cry in front of me, guess how I would deal with him?" Rafas knocked on the bathroom door. Hearing silence from within made a scene of her attempting suicide flash through his mind.
His words made Wushuang tremble all over. Suddenly, there was a loud crash as Rafas kicked open the bathroom door and rushed inside. Seeing her curled up on the floor made his heart ache intensely.
Crouching in front of her, Rafas asked again, "What do you really want?"
Wushuang lifted her tear-stained face to look at him, her eyelashes trembling slightly as crystal-like tears fell one by one. Her soft voice echoed in the bathroom: "I'm tired; that kind of occasion isn't suitable for me."
Rafas sighed and nodded, noticing the tears cascading down her cheeks and the bruise on her wrist from his grip. He pulled her tightly into his embrace. "Alright, I won't force you. We won't go out anymore, okay? I'll stay here and rest with you."
