"Hahaha... We've always been in this together. Have you forgotten that time at the New York Amusement Park? If you weren't holding Wushuang in your arms, my men would have shot you dead. As for what you smelled, I think you should be clear about my background. Besides being a general, I am also quite knowledgeable in medicine. Creating some ancient sedatives is not difficult for me, and sedatives were one of the most commonly used methods in our time!" Looking at him under his foot, Long Yi felt an indescribable joy; he had long awaited this day.
"Despicable tactics... Pah!" Rafas glared at him disdainfully, not expecting him to resort to such lowly tricks.
"My tactics are despicable? Why don't you talk about yourself? Using the lives of everyone in the Yamamoto Family to threaten Wushuang into submission—are such methods even clever? Forcing me to pressure Wushuang into marrying you, do you really think she is willing? What Wushuang said at the wedding was merely to make me leave Las Vegas because she feared what you might do to threaten her. She is terrified, you know? Terrified that you, beast that you are, would harm me because the one she loves is me, the one she cares about is me!" As he spoke, Rafas kicked him hard in the chest, causing Rafas to wince in pain.
Seeing his suffering brought great joy to Yamamoto Ryuichi. He remembered clearly how much pain Rafas had inflicted on him; he had vowed that he would repay every bit of it.
"Rafas, consider yourself lucky today; I will leave you with a complete corpse!" The gun in his hand was aimed at Rafas's head; with a single pull of the trigger, everything would end.
Wushuang would gain her freedom and return to his side. Everything that had happened before would flow away like water; he and Wushuang would live carefree lives like they once did!
Wushuang held her breath, unable to believe this was real. Her general had changed; he had become terrifying and was now using such despicable means against his enemies. In the past, he fought on the battlefield with honor and never resorted to lowly tricks like hypnotism. Now, for her sake and for revenge, he had broken his vow and used sedatives against Lefas.
"Stop..." Wushuang stepped out from the darkness. When she saw how anxiously he had entered the basement, she sensed something was wrong. After a while, she curiously followed him into the dark basement, hiding on the dark staircase and quietly watching his every move below while also catching a whiff of the sedative's scent.
"Shuang'er, how did you come down here? Were you worried about me?" Yamamoto Ryuichi stepped forward to support her, noticing the concern in her eyes and asking happily.
Wushuang glanced at him but said nothing. She walked around Luca's body to where she had just landed with Yezi, picked up a bottle of mineral water, and went to Rafas's side. She poured water on his face to wake him up a bit: "Lefas, are you feeling better?"
Rafas stared at her in disbelief, not expecting this little woman would care for him after leaving her old lover behind.
"Can you say something? Is your head still spinning?" Wushuang shook him vigorously, determined to keep his mind clear.
"Baby, stop shaking me! I have no strength left; if you keep shaking me like this, I really might pass out like them!" Perhaps it was surprising that she didn't shoot him during such a critical moment or leave with her childhood sweetheart.
Hearing his words finally put Wushuang's heart at ease. Thankfully she had followed him in; if she had arrived any later, Long Yi would surely have shot him.
Yamamoto Ryuichi's expression grew darker by the moment. What was wrong with Wushuang? Not only did she want to stop him from killing that beast Rafas, but she also insisted on protecting him everywhere. Was she crazy? Or had Rafas drugged her?
He pulled Wushuang close to him and looked at her in confusion: "Shuang'er, what’s wrong with you? He is our enemy; why are you protecting him? Why do you want to save him?"
Yan Wushuang met Long Yi's gaze and hesitated for a moment before asking: "Why did you know I was trapped here by Kogura but didn’t come to rescue me? Why did you send me to be mistreated by Kogura?"
Wushuang's question left Long Yi momentarily speechless, drawing all eyes to the barely conscious Kogura. The term "waste" needed no explanation; everyone here knew what it referred to.
“Shuang'er... are you okay? Please let me explain!” Long Yi grasped Wushuang tightly. Kogura had promised him that he would never harm Wushuang in any way.
Wushuang pushed his hand away, maintaining some distance, her eyes filled with disappointment. The man before her was not her General Longze; her general was already dead. He was Yamamoto Ryuichi, he was Yamamoto Ryuichi!
“Don't worry. Thankfully, Miss Smith saved me. If it weren't for her intervention, I think you would be looking at my corpse right now!” Everything was behind her now. Closing her eyes, she tried to forget the unbearable scenes from just moments ago.
Tears fell as she wished this was all a dream, but she was wrong; this was the harsh reality. The man who once cherished and protected her throughout her life was gone. The person before her was merely a man with the same face as the general!
“Shuang'er, I'm sorry. I truly didn't expect this to happen. My collaboration with Kogura was solely to deal with our common enemy; that’s all there was to it. Don’t you want to leave him, to escape his confinement?” His eyes were filled with regret. That bastard Kogura had sworn an oath; he really only wanted to deal with Rafas alone. If he had known this would hurt her, he would never have agreed to Kogura's demands.
Yan Wushuang felt nothing but disappointment towards him as she walked past him back to Rafas's side. Rafas lay on the ground, weakened and powerless due to the drug he had inhaled. Wushuang helped him up and continued to use water to counteract the effects of the drug.
The drug was potent; he had only inhaled a little and had collapsed like a lump of clay on the ground. But why were Wushuang and Yamamoto Ryuichi unaffected? This puzzled Rafas greatly.
Yamamoto Ryuichi struggled internally for a long time. Regardless of whether Wushuang approved today, he had to eliminate Rafas. If he let Rafas go today, once Rafas regained his strength and left this place, it would be him—and all the brothers of Yamaguchi-gumi—who would die.
He aimed his gun at Rafas, ready to settle things today...!
“No... I won't allow you to harm him...” Wushuang stood in front of Rafas, resolutely blocking Long Yi.
“Shuang'er, move aside... no matter what, I must see him dead today!” Yamamoto Ryuichi ordered his men to pull Wushuang away. Whatever he did was for her sake; why did she still protect this monster?
“Let go! Don't touch me...” Wushuang struggled, her arms tightly wrapped around Rafas, refusing to leave him even in death.
Looking into Rafas's sharp black eyes, everything from the past felt like it had happened yesterday. This domineering and cold-blooded man had once ruthlessly violated her, imprisoning her in that ancient castle day after day. He was domineering and cruel, yet his tenderness was reserved solely for her. As long as she obediently stayed by his side, he would do anything to fulfill her wishes—even if she wanted the stars from the sky!
Time changes everything, including hearts. Over the past year of being together, both she and he had changed little by little. She became more dependent on him; although they sometimes quarreled over trivial matters, it seemed that he always surrendered first.
He became less cold-blooded and cruel; however, his possessiveness towards her grew stronger day by day. Seeing her smile at him brought him great satisfaction. Whenever they were entwined together, he dreamed of creating a world that belonged solely to them both.
"Yamamoto Ryuichi, the one you should be dealing with is me. There's no need to make things difficult for Shuang'er!" Rafas's mind was already clear, but he still couldn't muster any strength.
Yamamoto Ryuichi looked at Wushuang's actions and felt a chill in his heart. What could have changed her beliefs? Did Shuang'er really fall in love with this beast?
Regardless of whether it was true or not, he would end everything today!
"General, I beg you, please do not harm Lefas. I know all the grievances between you are because of me; it's my fault. Miss Smith is right; I, Yan Wushuang, am the one at fault. The one who deserves to die is me. As long as I am dead, everything will come to an end. If you want to kill someone, kill me. I will personally apologize to Yamamoto Old Man, and I still need to find my unborn child!" Wushuang suddenly knelt on the ground, pointing Long Yi's gun at herself.
Yamamoto Ryuichi's heart raced. How could he harm Wushuang? She was the woman he loved most; how could he hurt her...
"Shuang'er... the one who has changed is not me; it's you! You have forgotten those who were hurt by him. You have forgotten for whom Mr. Yamamoto died. You even forgot our vow and threw yourself into the arms of that murderer." Long Yi's hand holding the gun trembled noticeably; facing Wushuang's plea, his heart bled.
"Baby, come back to me!" Rafas spoke weakly; that damned drug had truly taken him down this time.
Wushuang looked back at Rafas with tear-stained cheeks. Perhaps he was right; she had indeed forgotten their vow. Faced with another man's possessive love and protection, maybe she had truly been moved.
"I am willing to take responsibility for my mistakes and use my life to honor those who were harmed because of me, even those who lost their lives. If that is not enough, then my child with him has already paid the price for our mistakes by leaving us. Is that enough?" Just thinking about the unborn child made Wushuang feel immensely sad.
"Don't force me... Shuang'er..." Long Yi began to hesitate at her words. If Wushuang died, then everything he had done would be meaningless.
"I am a sinner; I am a bad woman... If you want to kill someone, kill me. If it weren't for me, Lefas would never have killed them. If you want revenge, just kill me!" Wushuang reached out to grab him; she was taking a gamble, betting that the general would never harm her. If he really pulled the trigger, then she would accept it.
