"Lefas... I, we really have nothing else. The general is on a business trip to New York and just wanted to come see me while you were away. It's really just that, please don't misunderstand, okay?" Yan Wushuang explained anxiously.
Seeing her worried expression, Rafas hurriedly comforted her, "Alright, stop talking. I understand your feelings. If there were still issues between you two, you would have gone with him when you were in the hospital. And our baby wouldn't have had the chance to come into this world, right?"
"Mm..." Yan Wushuang's eyes turned red as she tightly hugged him.
She thought he would blame her for meeting the general privately, but to her surprise, he already knew and didn't seem to hold it against her at all. A warm current flowed through her heart, warming both her body and soul!
Having lost the child, Misa was engulfed in immense pain. After handling the aftermath of the child's passing, she locked herself in her room and cried. Her heartbroken appearance made Yamamoto Ryuichi feel deeply guilty.
"Misa, I'm sorry. I didn't take care of you both. I'm so bad; it's my fault. Please eat something, okay?" For several days now, she had only forced herself to eat a few bites of food at each meal.
Misa remained in a daze, holding her son's clothes silently.
Seeing her like this was not a solution for Yamamoto Ryuichi. The loss of their child was indeed a huge shock for both of them, especially for Misa, who felt as if it were the end of the world.
"Ding..." Long Yi's phone suddenly rang. Seeing the name on the screen, he answered excitedly, "Is there news from the hospital?"
"Mr. Yamamoto, we just received a five-month-old baby boy. His parents passed away in a traffic accident last month. The only relative he has is his uncle's family, but they are not financially stable and already have two boys. That's why they decided to send him to the orphanage so we can find a better family for him!" Listening to the news on the phone, Yamamoto Ryuichi's eyes lit up.
"Thank you very much! I'll head over right now!" Given Misa's condition, without a child by her side, she would surely lose her will to live.
After hanging up the phone, he squatted beside Misa, gently stroking her cheek and said, "Misa, wait for me to come back. I will definitely bring our child back."
With that said, Yamamoto Ryuichi immediately set off for Tateyama Orphanage, hoping this child could awaken Misa's heart that was filled with despair.
The orphanage was quite remote; it took nearly two hours of driving for Yamamoto Ryuichi and his companions to reach Tateyama Children's Home, located on the outskirts!
He commanded the bodyguards and driver to wait in the car while he walked in alone, passing through the children's play area. He saw many children playing together and couldn't help but think of his Yuanji.
"Mr. Yamamoto, you have arrived." The director, who was nearby ensuring the children's safety, noticed him coming in.
"Director, it's you! I just got here as well. I passed by and wanted to see how the children were playing." Yamamoto Ryuichi's eyes reflected a bright light, which reassured the director about handing over the six-month-old child to him.
The director led him to the Nursery, where a small crib held a quiet six-month-old baby. Yamamoto Ryuichi gently pushed the door open and looked at the child still soundly asleep. The adorable little face appeared chubbier than Yuanji's due to being a few months older.
Long Yi couldn't help but reach out and gently pick him up. His previous experience made him feel completely at ease with the child. The baby was cradled in large hands, but the embrace was gentle, making him feel no sense of strangeness as he continued to sleep deeply.
Seeing his attentiveness, the director smiled and handed over the child's information: "Mr. Yamamoto, this is the child's information. From now on, you and your wife will be his parents. I hope he can grow up healthy and happy under your care."
"Thank you, we definitely will!" Yamamoto Ryuichi took the child's information, but he knew that these details would not matter much later; what was important was that having this child would help Misa return to reality sooner.
After completing the adoption procedures, Yamamoto Ryuichi left Tateyama Children's Home with the child. Before leaving, he also donated five million yen to ensure that the children's lives could be more colorful.
Misa was still locked in her room when Yamamoto Ryuichi brought the child back. The maids were stunned at first, but upon seeing the adorable baby, they seemed to understand why their master had brought him home.
On the way back, Yamamoto Ryuichi named the child Yuan Xiu; he would be Yuanji's older brother and would help Misa rediscover her maternal love.
Perhaps feeling hungry, Yuan Xiu began to cry loudly after two bumpy hours of travel; it was time for him to eat.
In her room, Misa heard the baby's cries and rushed out following the sound. Upon seeing Long Yi holding the child, tears streamed down her face as she ran forward to hold him in her arms. Watching him cry sadly made her leave to go back to her room to feed him.
Having not eaten properly for several days, Misa's milk supply wasn't very abundant, but fortunately, she could still feed one child well. She lovingly cradled him in her arms as if he were her own child.
After the children had eaten and stopped crying, Yamamoto Ryuichi followed them into the room and sat across from Misa. Apologetically, he said, "Misa, I'm sorry. Our child cannot come back. This boy is one I adopted from the children's home. He is only six months old. Last month, his parents died in a car accident, and his relatives are unable to care for him, so they sent him to the orphanage. I want him to be Yuanji's brother; from now on, he will be our child, and his name is Yamamoto Motoharu."
"Yuan Xiu, my child!" Misa finally spoke. Hearing her softly call the child's name, his anxious heart finally settled.
Misa reached out and gently stroked his cute little cheek, silently saying to herself, "Child, from now on, Mommy will never let anything happen to you. My child..."
Yan Wushuang's due date was approaching, and Rafas had moved them closer to the hospital; he had even moved in with her!
"Lefas, I feel so uneasy," Yan Wushuang said as the day drew nearer, her heart growing more anxious.
"Don't worry; I'm here with you. There's nothing to fear," Rafas reassured her as he held her by the bedside, accompanying her wherever she went.
Yan Wushuang felt fortunate to have Rafas by her side. Without his support, she truly didn't know how she would face everything.
Time ticked backward as the child entered the birth canal. Yan Wushuang lay on the operating table, trembling with tension. Although it wasn't her first surgery, entering the operating room like this made her extremely frightened.
The atmosphere in the operating room only heightened her anxiety, making her teeth chatter...
"Mrs. Lei, try to relax; we are going to administer anesthesia now," the doctor whispered soothingly in her ear.
Hearing that the surgery was about to begin made it impossible for Yan Wushuang to calm down. She could only interrupt their actions with a plea: "I'm sorry; I can't relax. Can my husband come in to be with me? I'm really nervous."
The anesthetist looked at the lead surgeon, who then assessed Yan Wushuang's condition and nodded in agreement with her request.
Rafas was the behind-the-scenes boss of this hospital; since she requested it so earnestly, they were obliged to comply as long as it helped the patient relax as much as possible.
"Mrs. Lei, please relax. We will go find Mr. Lei right away," the nurse whispered in her ear before quickly stepping out to look for Rafas.
Rafas and everyone else were waiting outside. The nurse hurriedly ran out and called, "Mr. Lei, could you please come in? Mrs. Lei insists that you stay with her; she is too nervous and can't calm down."
Upon hearing this, Rafas anxiously followed the nurse inside, first changing into sterile clothing in the changing room before entering the operating room.
Yan Wushuang was waiting on the operating table for Rafas when suddenly a pair of strong hands tightly grasped hers. She knew he had arrived; it was her Rafas.
"Shuang'er, I'm here. There's no need to be nervous," Rafas appeared beside her like a deity, instantly providing her anxious heart with a sense of support.
Yan Wushuang smiled lightly and closed her eyes in reassurance.
The anesthetist slowly injected anesthesia into her spine. After a while, Yan Wushuang felt no sensation or pain in her lower body. With the glaring lights turned on, the surgery officially began.
Rafas held her hand tightly, occasionally kissing her cheek and whispering many names into her ear—names he had already thought of for their child. If it was a boy, he would be named Lei Lie or Ray Yi; if it was a girl, she would be named Lei Xinran or Leila!
Yan Wushuang looked at him with a smile, surprised that he had already chosen names for their child. It seemed that he was more prepared as a father than she was as a mother; she hadn't even thought about what to name their child.
Twenty minutes later, a loud cry broke the silence of the operating room—the first baby had arrived safely. After cleaning the baby, the doctor announced, "Born at 10:23 AM, weighing 2.6 pounds, it's a boy!"
Both Yan Wushuang and Rafas heard the nurse's words and were so excited they could hardly speak. After dressing and preparing the little one, the nurse brought the baby over to Rafas so they could see their adorable child.
