Morina did not expect Shouya to appear here, but he remained calm and stepped forward to explain, "Mr. Shouya, I think you misunderstood me. I was just inviting Xinya to the banquet, nothing more..."
Suddenly, he was struck hard in the face by Shouya, nearly falling to the ground. He felt a sharp pain on his mouth and a salty taste filled his mouth. Wiping the corner of his lips with his hand, he was astonished to see bright red blood on his fingers.
The crowd below gasped, as if watching a good show.
"Morina, are you okay?!" An Xin Ya looked at the bleeding Morina in shock, shaking off Shouya's hand and stepping forward to support him with concern.
Seeing An Xin Ya helping Morina, Shouya erupted like a volcano. He grabbed Morina by the collar and punched him again, this time with even more force, releasing all his anger.
Morina was hit twice in quick succession and felt dizzy. However, he was enraged and disregarded Shouya's status as Your Highness, stepping forward to punch Shouya back.
You punch me, I punch you; the two were locked in a fierce fight. Several security guards rushed forward to break them apart.
"Stop fighting! Please stop..." A flustered An Xin Ya stepped in front of Morina, blocking Shouya and staring at him with tears in her eyes filled with anger. She gritted her teeth and said, "Shouya, enough! Stop being unreasonable! I don't want to see you again; get out of here right now..."
An Xin Ya turned back to look at the injured Morina and asked how he was doing.
Shouya, with bruises on his face, felt a wave of sadness wash over him as he saw An Xin Ya defending Morina right in front of him. He left the banquet feeling both angry and heartbroken.
Morina watched Shouya leave in despair and couldn't help but smile inwardly. A faint smile appeared on his lips; he had successfully caused a rift between them.
An Xin Ya stood protectively in front of him, so it was clear that Shouya would be furious.
Frowning at the injured Morina, An Xin Ya helped him walk out of the banquet hall under everyone's gaze and nervously asked if he was alright and if he needed to go to the hospital.
Hearing her concern made Morina incredibly happy. He shook his head, saying it was just some superficial wounds that could be treated with ointment; there was no need for a hospital.
Once they got into the car, An Xin Ya felt guilty about what had just happened with Shouya barging in and hurting him. She then apologized to Morina on behalf of Shouya.
Morina said nothing, only swinging his fists at him in front of so many people. The two of them ended up grappling again, and it was certain that this would be the headline news tomorrow. However, it didn't matter; he was willing to do anything to win An Xin Ya.
Morina had someone drive An Xin Ya home. As she returned to their place, her anger still simmering, she rushed straight to her room and packed all her belongings to move back to her hometown. She didn't want to see Shouya again; he had disappointed her too much.
Devastated, Shouya did not return to his private residence but drove directly back to Solomon's base. Once in his room, he erupted in anger, throwing things against the walls and floor, sweeping everything off his desk onto the ground. The room quickly became a chaotic mess.
He was still furious as he slumped down, his mind filled with the scene from the banquet where Xinya protected Morina and her words that pierced him like knives, each word cutting deep into his heart, leaving him in despair.
He got up and grabbed a bottle of whiskey from the cabinet, pouring himself a full glass and gulping it down. The alcohol burned like a raging fire in his stomach. He poured another glass and drank again, continuously drinking. No matter how much he consumed, his mind remained clear; he wanted to drown himself in alcohol, hoping to stay drunk forever...
Someone once said that drinking alone in a room only deepens one's sorrow.
He had given so much for her but ended up with nothing. In the end, it couldn't compare to a bouquet of roses, a love poem, or a date—just sweet words from others... She had thrown herself into someone else's arms. Thinking of this, the big man sat on the cold floor, drinking while laughing and crying.
"What is going on? Shouya, get up, get up..." The next day Faisal returned to the base and heard from the guards outside that Shouya had come back last night.
He pushed open the door and was hit by a strong smell of alcohol. Frowning, he noticed that the windows were still closed and the curtains drawn, making the room dim. He stepped inside and was shocked to see Shouya lying on the floor surrounded by empty bottles.
Faisal hurried over to wake him up; he had never seen him drink like this before. What happened? How could he drink so much and be completely out of it?!
Shouya felt pain on his face and woke up slightly, opening his eyes just enough to see Faisal.
"What happened? Why did you drink so much?" Faisal asked again, suddenly worried about him upon seeing his condition.
"Get away!" Shouya wasn't fully awake yet; his face was haggard with stubble growing thickly. He pushed Faisal away as he searched for more alcohol. The bottles on the floor clinked loudly until he found one with half a bottle left and picked it up to pour more into himself.
"Shouya, stop drinking!" Faisal shouted as he snatched the bottle from Shouya's hands.
Shouya raised his bloodshot eyes to look at Faisal, no longer trying to grab the drink from his hand. Instead, he stood up unsteadily and walked to the liquor cabinet, but most of the bottles were already empty.
"Shouya..." Faisal wanted to step forward and ask him why he had become like this, but was met with Shouya's furious shout as he pointed at the door and told him to get out.
Seeing Shouya's unstable emotions, Faisal realized that he must have suffered some kind of blow, likely related to a romantic issue.
He intended to persuade him further, but just then his phone rang; it was Mokani calling. He had to rush back. After hanging up, he saw Shouya drinking glass after glass again. With no other choice, he turned and left the room, instructing someone to keep an eye on him, fearing he might do something foolish.
"Xinya, what happened between you and Shouya? Did you two have a fight?" This morning, Grandma An directly asked her. Last night, she had seen Xinya returning home with her luggage, and it was obvious they had quarreled. She hadn't expected it to be serious enough for Xinya to pack her things and leave. Before she could ask further, Xinya shut the door and locked herself in her room.
"Nothing." An Xin Ya didn't want to discuss their issues with her grandmother. Skipping breakfast, she grabbed her things and headed downstairs to the Maria Music Training Class for piano lessons.
However, throughout the day, she seemed distracted and absent-minded. While playing the piano, her thoughts were consumed by Brother Shouya.
She reflected on her words from last night and felt they were a bit excessive; she shouldn't have said such hurtful things to him.
She recalled what Yan Wushuang once told her: men are often impulsive; if they care about you, they might do something foolish in their emotions.
As she left the Maria Music Training Class, Yuga bounded up to her like a little rabbit, looking at her with beautiful eyes. Noticing her frown and heavy expression, Yuga asked, "Sister Anxi, what's wrong? You seem like you had a fight with Uncle Shouya."
Even Yuga could tell they had quarreled. This time it seemed serious; not only was Morina injured at yesterday's banquet, but he was hurt too. She didn't know what to do.
An Xin Ya remained silent, forcing a smile that felt bitter.
That night in bed, An Xin Ya tossed and turned without sleep. Although she considered going back to clarify things with him, her pride prevented her from doing so; she wanted him to come find her instead.
But two days passed without any sign of Brother Shouya coming to see her. She grew anxious—why hadn't he come yet? In the past, he would have been unable to hold back his feelings and would have sought her out to apologize.
Brother Shouya still had not come to find her, but Morina did. One afternoon, as she was leaving the Maria Music Training Class, he parked his car outside the gate and approached her as soon as he saw her walk out.
Seeing that his face still bore some injuries, though not as severe as before, An Xin Ya felt relieved. However, she still felt a bit guilty about the incident at the banquet, knowing it was her actions that had caused him to get hurt.
Morina noticed the faint sadness in her expression and understood that she felt remorseful about what happened at the banquet. According to his informants, she had moved away from Shouya's place and returned to the town, while Shouya had not been seen for quite some time. It was clear that their relationship had completely fractured. Thinking of this, he secretly rejoiced and decided to comfort her during her time of sadness while also confessing his feelings.
Morina invited An Xin Ya to their usual spot, the Louisa Anna Restaurant, for a meal, a place he often took her to.
An Xin Ya did not refuse; seeing Morina injured made it difficult for her to turn him down.
“Xinya, I’m really sorry for the misunderstanding between you two. My involvement has caused you both a lot of trouble,” Morina suddenly said to Xinya during their meal.
He knew that when a girl was emotionally hurt, all she needed was comfort, rather than an eager confession of feelings. So after a few days of waiting, he took this opportunity to express his true feelings for her.
Upon hearing this, An Xin Ya paused her actions and looked up at Morina with wide, surprised eyes. “The one who should be apologizing is me, Your Highness,” she replied in confusion.
“Xinya, from the moment I first laid eyes on you, I was deeply attracted by the aura you exude…” Morina took An Xin Ya's hand and spoke earnestly.
An Xin Ya stared at Morina in shock.
“Xinya, meeting you is the greatest happiness for me. With you, my life has become infinitely broader; with you, my world has become so enchanting. I want to use my heart to accompany you, love you, and take you wherever you wish to go…”
