"Your Highness, I..." An Xin Ya listened to the flattery and felt embarrassed, quickly pulling her hand back.
"If possible, would you give me this opportunity to take care of you?" Morina looked directly at An Xin Ya, seeming a bit afraid. He added, "You don't have to answer me right now; think it over and let me know when you're ready! No matter what your answer is, I will respect it."
An Xin Ya awkwardly avoided his intense gaze. She didn't need any time to think about this question and directly told Morina, "Your Highness, I'm sorry."
"Why? What does he have that I don't?" Although he knew the answer, he still couldn't accept the reality. Such a straightforward rejection struck a blow to his pride.
"Yes, Your Highness, you are not inferior to Brother Shouya in any way. You are of noble birth, above all others, and adored by many. But my heart is already filled by another man; the one I truly love is him. I love him!" An Xin Ya earnestly conveyed her true feelings to Morina.
Morina felt as if struck by lightning, looking at An Xin Ya with sorrowful eyes. So many women wanted to climb the social ladder and become his princess, yet she did not want that. Despite all he had given her, he could not win her heart; instead, he received a cold rejection that deeply wounded him.
"I'm sorry, Your Highness; I have to go!" An Xin Ya stood up, grabbed her bag, and walked out of Louisa Anna Restaurant.
She felt nothing for Morina; no matter what he did, he could not touch her heart. The only person she loved was Shouya because he was the one who treated her sincerely and remained steadfast.
Tears rolled down Xinya's cheeks the moment she got on the bus. During this time, her mind was filled with thoughts of Brother Shouya. Remembering all they had been through together made her realize that her world could not exist without him. She felt deep regret for hurting him with her words at the banquet and decided to find him to apologize.
"Xinya, Xinya, how could you treat me like this?" In the base's room, a drunken Shouya leaned against the bed, murmuring Xinya's name amidst bottles of empty alcohol scattered around.
"Shouya, enough! Stop drinking!" Faisal looked at the mess Shouya had made of the room he had tidied up days before. He felt both worried and pained seeing Shouya like this.
He had also learned that Shouya had confronted Morina at the banquet after Morina invited An Xin Ya. Their argument escalated into a fight that had made headlines in various news reports. He never expected this kid would have the guts to throw punches at the British Third Prince.
"Xinya, Xinya..."
Hearing Shouya constantly calling An Xin Ya's name every day made Faisal feel irritated as well. Furrowing his brows again, he said, "It's normal for two people to argue, but no matter what happens, they should sit down and talk it out..."
"Get lost, just get lost!" Half-drunk and half-awake, Shouya shouted at Faisal.
Faisal looked at him helplessly; he was no longer the Shouya he once knew. Now, for the sake of a woman, he was drowning himself in alcohol every day. No matter how much Faisal tried to persuade him, Shouya wouldn't listen, and sometimes he would even lash out in anger.
Not wanting to deal with him anymore, Faisal shook his head. Heartache needed a remedy.
For several days now, An Xin Ya had been searching everywhere for Brother Shouya but couldn't find him. She didn't know where he had gone. She tried calling his phone, but it was always turned off. She sent him numerous text messages, but there was no reply.
Feeling anxious, An Xin Ya temporarily paused her piano lessons at Maria Music Training Class to look for him. That day, she returned to Shouya's Private Villa, the place they used to share.
"Brother Shouya, Brother Shouya, are you here?" An Xin Ya pushed the door open and walked inside. The living room was empty. She couldn't believe he wasn't home and went to check the study and the bedroom, as well as the cluttered room, but still found no sign of him.
Where could he have gone? An Xin Ya felt both anxious and sad. She decided to wait for him at home for a few days; this was his house after all. He wouldn't just not come back home—where else would he go?
Maybe he would return tomorrow or even tonight. With that thought in mind, she rushed to the market to buy groceries and came back to cook several of her signature dishes. She set the dining table and sat in the living room, turned on the TV, and waited for him to come back.
However, by midnight around eleven or twelve o'clock, An Xin Ya still hadn't seen Brother Shouya return. She turned to look at the now-cold food on the table and felt an inexplicable sense of disappointment and loneliness.
She was tired and sleepy. After tidying up everything, she went back to her room to sleep. The next morning, she was awakened by a doorbell ringing. Thinking it was Brother Shouya returning, she quickly jumped out of bed and ran out of her room with a smile on her face. "Brother Shouya, you're back..."
When she opened the door and saw it wasn't Brother Shouya, her smile froze on her face. It was a delivery person bringing flowers.
She knew exactly who had sent her roses—no one else but Morina. Furrowing her brows in confusion, she said to the delivery person, "Didn't I tell you not to send them anymore? Why are you still delivering them?"
Last time she witnessed Brother Shouya lash out at the flower delivery person over this very issue as a warning.
"I can't help it, I'm just doing my job. The boss told me to deliver this, so I have to do it," the staff member said helplessly.
An Xin Ya didn't say anything further. It was true; he was just following orders, trying to make a living. She took the bouquet of roses, vibrant and beautiful, but the color stung her eyes. After the delivery person drove away, she held the bouquet and walked out the door, tossing the flowers into a nearby trash bin.
She had already made things clear with Morina at the restaurant last time, but he seemed unwilling to give up. How did he know she had returned to Brother Shouya's place? Did he have someone send flowers to her? Did he know her every move?
Regardless of whether it was true or not, An Xin Ya didn't care and didn't want to think about it. All she wanted to know was where Brother Shouya was. She really wanted to know where he was now.
Every day she held onto hope that maybe he would come back tomorrow, but it had been several days without any sign of him.
Where could he be? Where exactly was he? After days of waiting without any news of Shouya's return, An Xin Ya felt anxious, tears nearly falling from her eyes. Finally, she thought of someone who might know where he was and could help her.
An Xin Ya personally went to the castle to find Yan Wushuang. The servant led her inside, where Wushuang was playing on the floor with two children. Seeing Wushuang's face filled with happiness and sweet smiles made Xinya feel genuinely happy for her.
Wushuang noticed Xinya's arrival and quickly came over, taking her hand and leading her to sit down. "It's been a while since you came to my house. How have you been lately?" she asked with a smile.
Wushuang instructed the servant to bring Xinya a glass of water. When the servant left, she turned back in surprise to see An Xin Ya with tearful eyes, looking worried and confused. "Xinya, why are you crying? What happened?"
She took a tissue and wiped away Xinya's tears.
"Wushuang, Brother Shouya is missing. I've looked everywhere for him but can't find him. I called his phone, but it's turned off. I went back to the villa and waited for several days, yet I still haven't seen him return..." An Xin Ya cried.
"How could he be missing? What exactly is going on?" How could such a good person just disappear? Just recently Wushuang heard that Shouya had returned home for business and would be flying back to Las Vegas in a few days!
"We had a fight..." An Xin Ya wiped her tears and recounted everything that had happened to Wushuang. "Shouya suspected something between me and Morina and started arguing with me. I couldn't take it anymore and decided to provoke Brother Shouya by agreeing to attend the banquet with Morina. I never expected him to suddenly show up at the banquet. Shouya rushed over, pulled me away, and got into an argument with Morina; they even started fighting. I rushed in to separate them and in a moment of anger, I cursed at him in front of everyone. Now that I think about it, I really regret it; I shouldn't have cursed at him while protecting someone else instead of him. Wushuang, can you help me find him? I've looked everywhere but can't find him..."
Wushuang listened quietly as she spoke, her brow furrowing involuntarily. She had experienced misunderstandings like this before and could empathize with Xinya's current feelings. She reached out and held her hand, saying, "Don't worry, I will help you find him."
"Thank you, Wushuang," An Xin Ya replied happily, gripping her hand back, tears still streaming down her face.
"You should go back and wait for news. Once I find him and know where he is, I will call you," Yan Wushuang said, looking at the tear-streaked face of An Xin Ya, clearly aware of how important Brother Shouya was to her.
"Okay!" For now, she had no choice but to go back and wait for news.
After leaving the castle, An Xin Ya took a taxi back home. The house was still empty; he had not returned. With tears in her eyes, she walked back to her room. As she passed by the study, she paused, pushed open the door, and stepped inside. She looked around and walked over to the desk where Brother Shouya had taught her to write and read.
Having been blind for six years, there were many characters she was unfamiliar with; all of them were taught to her by Brother Shouya. He had been very patient with her and even taught her some medical knowledge.
No other man had ever treated her so well.
Brother Shouya, where are you? Xinya knows she was wrong; please come back soon. An Xin Ya called out for him in her heart, hoping he was no longer angry and would quickly return to her side.
Stepping out of the study, she made her way to the piano room, where a white piano stood. She would always remember that day when he took her back to his Private Villa and brought her into this piano room. She touched the piano with her hands and even sat down to play a piece for him...
She still remembered how he insisted on taking her to a piano store to buy her a piano, which had caused her to lose her temper at him.
There were countless memories stored in her mind—every day spent in darkness with him by her side, every beautiful moment they shared.
