I followed Li Na's gaze and saw the last line of the document glaringly written: "According to technical analysis, Lin Xiaoyu highly matches the killer's next target." 0
"Next target?!" My pupils constricted sharply, a chill spreading through my body. "Are you saying the killer kidnapped Lin Xiaoyu just to use her as bait for the next target?" 0
Li Na remained silent, merely nodding slightly. Her silence confirmed my suspicion more powerfully than any words could. 0
"Damn it!" I slammed my fist against the wall, filled with self-reproach and anger. "Why is he doing this? Is it just to satisfy his perverse desire to kill?" 0
"We cannot yet determine the killer's motive, but one thing is certain: he is an extremely dangerous individual. We must find him as soon as possible; otherwise, more innocent people will suffer," Li Na said gravely, a hint of worry flashing in her eyes. 0
"I understand. You need to notify all officers immediately to conduct a full-scale manhunt for the killer. We cannot let him roam free any longer!" I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself down. 0
"Yes!" Li Na saluted and turned to leave. 0
As I watched her departing figure, a thought suddenly flashed through my mind. I grabbed her arm and asked urgently, "Wait, where is Lin Xiaoyu now?" 0
Li Na paused for a moment before answering, "She's in the hospital. I've arranged for her to stay in a secure ward with police protection 24/7." 0
"No, I want to see her in person," I said as I turned and walked out. 0
Seeing this, Li Na quickly followed and asked, "What do you want to do at the hospital?" 0
"I'm going to see her; maybe I'll find some clues," I replied without looking back, feeling a strong sense of foreboding rise within me. I had a feeling that the killer's intentions were far from simple; he must be hiding something. 0

I hurried out of the office with Li Na closely behind me, our hurried footsteps echoing in the empty corridor. 0
"Do you suspect the killer will target Lin Xiaoyu again?" Li Na kept pace with me, her brows furrowed and her tone laced with concern. 0
"The killer is meticulous. Since he chose to kidnap Lin Xiaoyu as bait, he must have anticipated that we would rescue her and send people to guard her closely," I said as we walked, replaying every detail of the crime scene in my mind. "So he likely has a backup plan, and Lin Xiaoyu might be key to unraveling this mystery." 0

By this time, we had reached the parking lot. I opened the car door and gestured for Li Na to get in. 0
Li Na sat in the passenger seat and buckled her seatbelt, asking, "So what do you think he'll do? Strike at the hospital?" 0
I started the car and drove out of the police station gate. After a moment of contemplation, I replied, "The killer meticulously plans each crime; he won't take unnecessary risks. The hospital is crowded and chaotic; it's not an ideal location for him." 0
"So you mean..." Li Na hesitated, seemingly guessing something. 0
"If my assumption is correct, the killer's true target isn't Lin Xiaoyu; it's..." I paused for emphasis, looking ahead with determination, "it's me!" 0

Upon hearing this, Li Na's expression turned serious. She reached for the car radio and spoke firmly: "Attention all units, this is Li Na. Please immediately check Lin Xiaoyu's real-time location and strengthen police deployment around the hospital. Report any unusual situations immediately!" 0
A cacophony of responses came from the radio as I gripped the steering wheel tightly, an unprecedented sense of crisis rising within me. I felt like I was stepping into a trap meticulously designed by the killer, and this game was just beginning. 0

I slammed on the gas, and the police car shot into the traffic like an arrow, racing towards the hospital. Along the way, Lin Xiaoyu's terrified eyes and fragmented words kept flashing in my mind: "Chen Ge... be careful..." My heart felt like it was being tightly gripped by an invisible hand, and my breathing became rapid. 0
