I pushed the killer away and turned to run towards the Container. Damn it! The killer was right; this wasn't the time to act recklessly. Rescuing Xiaoyu was the priority. I rushed to the Container, forcefully pulling open the heavy iron door, and a strong smell of gasoline hit me.
"Xiaoyu!" I shouted as I entered the Container and immediately spotted my sister Chen Yu tied up in the corner. Her eyes were tightly shut, and her face was pale; she had clearly inhaled too much of the sedative and had not yet awakened.
"Ge..." A weak voice came from Chen Yu as she struggled to open her eyes, looking at me in confusion.
"Xiaoyu, don't be afraid. Ge is here to save you!" I hugged Chen Yu tightly, feeling heartbroken as I untied the ropes binding her.
"Ge, why did you take so long..." Chen Yu leaned weakly against me, her voice trembling with tears.
"I'm sorry, Xiaoyu. Ge is late." My eyes reddened as I fought back tears, gently patting Chen Yu's back.
"Hurry! It's going to explode!" Chen Yu suddenly grabbed my hand, shouting anxiously.
I then noticed a red number on the wall behind Chen Yu that was counting down: 00:05:27.
"Damn it!" Only five minutes left! I cursed under my breath, picked up Chen Yu, and dashed outside.
"Ge, be careful!" Chen Yu suddenly cried out.
I instinctively turned back to look and saw the killer had somehow appeared at the entrance of the Container, holding a gleaming dagger.
"Trying to escape? Not so easy!" The killer sneered, lunging at me with the dagger.
In a split second, I pushed Chen Yu out towards the door and dodged to the side. The dagger grazed my arm, leaving a trail of blood.
"Ge!" Chen Yu screamed in terror.
"Run! Don't worry about me!" I yelled at Chen Yu while turning to confront the killer.
"Want to play hero? Today I'll send both of you siblings on your way!" The killer was enraged by my actions and attacked with even more ferocity, each strike aimed to kill.
As I dodged the killer's attacks, I searched for an opportunity to counterattack. The warehouse was dimly lit and cluttered with debris, making it difficult for me.
Bang!
Suddenly, a gunshot shattered the silence in the warehouse.
The killer paused mid-motion, looking down in disbelief at the blood blooming from his chest.
"You..." he managed to utter before collapsing helplessly.
I turned towards the entrance of the warehouse and saw Li Na standing there with a handgun, smoke still rising from its barrel.
"Li Na?" I looked at her in surprise.
"Don't say anything, just get out of here!" Li Na put away her gun and rushed to me, speaking urgently.
It was then that I remembered the timed bomb was still counting down!
"Hurry! Come with me!" I grabbed Li Na's hand and ran toward the warehouse door.
"Boom!"
A loud explosion erupted behind us, and the entire warehouse shook violently.
We dared not look back and ran forward with all our strength.
Finally, we burst through the warehouse door and escaped the blast zone safely.
I turned back to see the warehouse engulfed in flames, the blazing fire illuminating the entire night sky.
I collapsed on the ground, gasping for breath, overwhelmed by a sense of exhaustion from surviving.
"Chen Ge, are you okay?" Li Na looked at me with concern, checking for any injuries.
"I'm fine," I shook my head, gazing at the sea of fire before me, feeling a mix of emotions.
"It's all over," Li Na gently held my hand and said softly.
I looked into Li Na's eyes; yes, it was all over.
